Ikos Oceania

Absolutely beautiful hotel, faultless service ( special shout out to the kids club team who looked after our 6yr old flawlessly,the gent who looked after drinks orders at the main pool who was fab and always got us to try new things) and incredible food and drink. We never go back to the same place twice and would 100% consider a return to Oceania after this experience.

We were fortunate to have stayed ten nights at this beautiful hotel in May and as repeat customers we knew what to expect and our expectations were, as always, high. Well, no surprise, our holiday and the service from each and every member of staff was exceptional in every way. There are not enough superlatives to describe how relaxing and enjoyable our holiday was. Seeing the same members of staff from year to year says a lot about the hotel management and how well it is run. Mr Dimitris Konstantaras the Guest relations manager checked in on us several times during our stay and is a great guy, hardworking and also good fun. The Greek hospitality is truly fantastic. We enjoyed the a-la carte restaurant choices making each night a different experience. This hotel caters for all, whether it’s relaxing at the beach with the crystal clear sea, availing of the inclusive water sports, exploring the local area in the complementary Mini or lounging by one of the many pools dotted around the resort. The hotel has a great gym and spa too and bikes are available for all ages. They have a lovely outdoor yoga deck with classes daily. The service at this hotel is exemplary and even before we arrived we were contacted by the lovely Elsa Datseri to make sure everything was in order for our upcoming holiday. Thank you Elsa. We also love the hotel’s private transfers to and from the airport making everything perfect from start to finish. I would like to thank each and every member of staff that make this hotel what it is and why we keep coming back. Special mentions to the following wonderful people - Despina and her team at the deluxe pool, such hardworking and welcoming fun people. The fabulous Tania from Ouzo, she is a real star and put a smile on my face every day. Maria in Fresco is an absolute legend . Anna at Provence, such a lovely person and so friendly, Sofia who must walk many miles everyday ensuring that we never ever went thirsty or hungry while enjoying our cabana days at the beach and last but by no means least the amazing Angela and her team at the Beach Club, even when the restaurant is incredibly busy, she always makes you feel welcome and relaxed, she has the most beautiful calm manner and is a wonderful host. We had an amazing time at Oceania, this was our third ikos to visit. The food was excellent, staff were amazing and so accommodating towards families, they really could not do enough. We also availed of some swim lessons whilst there, Effie was a great teacher and our child loved the lessons. She had a lovely approach to teaching. Our child was very excited for each lesson. I would not hesitate to recommend the hotel and we look forward to our next visit!

We stayed for seven nights in June to celebrate our anniversary after wanting to experience an Ikos resort for many years. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the hotel’s beautiful aesthetic and immaculately maintained grounds. The resort is spacious, spotless, and clearly very well cared for. What truly sets this property apart, however, is the exceptional service. Every member of staff we encountered was friendly, approachable, and genuinely eager to help. Nothing ever seemed too much trouble, and their warm, personal and attentive approach made a lasting impression. The dining experience was fantastic. We visited all five restaurants, as well as taking advantage of the Dine Out option at Akti. The quality of the food was excellent throughout, with a great choice of dishes and attentive service. Unlike some all-inclusive resorts, we never felt rushed during meals. We had pre-booked three restaurants via the app before arrival, but were not entirely happy with the available times on the app. Concierge quickly rearranged these during check-in and even created a dining schedule for our entire stay based on our preferred dining times, which was a thoughtful touch and much appreciated. We also made use of the complimentary car hire, which gave us a fantastic day exploring the local towns and markets. I would highly recommend taking advantage of this benefit, although it is essential to book well in advance. We booked around three to four weeks before arrival through the app. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and serviced twice daily. There was lots of wardrobe, draw and cupboard space. The only disappointment was that, despite the hotel knowing we were celebrating our anniversary, we were given twin beds pushed together with separate sheets and duvets rather than a proper double bed, or a mattress topper to join the two. We had a beautiful view of the sea though so made do with it for the week. The one aspect that prevented this from being the peaceful and relaxing break we had hoped for though was the number of babies, toddlers, and young children throughout the resort. We intentionally travel outside of school holiday periods to avoid this, but it did not seem to make much difference. While this is, of course, not the hotel’s fault and maybe their main target audience, I do feel there is room for improvement with the adults-only offering. In particular, we were surprised by the number of young children in the restaurants late into the evening, often after 9pm. We deliberately booked later dining times to avoid the busiest family periods, but still encountered a lot of noise and disruption. It would have been appreciated if the hotel offered adults only sections of the restaurants, or a no children after 9pm policy. Our anniversary meal was spent with an unhappy, restless toddler directly next to us throwing toys and food, so far from the romantic meal we’d hoped for. Similarly, during the evening entertainment on the outdoor terrace, many toddlers were running around despite the music not starting until 9pm or 10pm. At times it felt more like a crèche which made it difficult to enjoy a relaxed drink and appreciate the music in what is otherwise a beautiful setting. Again, bad parenting and not the hotels fault but it affected our experience as a couple. Also, the designated adults-only area on the terrace was very limited in size and positioned away from the entertainment. There was an adults-only lounge, but it lacked atmosphere and offered no evening entertainment, meaning it was always empty. We would have appreciated some evening entertainment specifically in an adults only setting. The adults-only pool was excellent but filled up very quickly so we only got to use it once. We spent most of our time at the infinity pool, which was generally quieter, although I personally feel this pool could benefit from being adults-only too, or perhaps restricted to older children. There are already two other family pools available for younger children, as well as the Deluxe pool. We spent only a couple of hours at the main pool before leaving due to screaming children. On this occasion, a kids club activity took place directly in front of us with blaring music, and we got soaked from the water guns and activities. Given there is a dedicated children’s pool elsewhere in the resort, this seemed an odd choice of location and made us feel out of place. The balance didn’t feel quite right between families and couples there so we avoided it for the rest of the holiday. Despite these observations, I would still rate the resort as a five-star hotel. The facilities, food, service, and overall quality were exceptional. However, I would primarily recommend it to families rather than couples seeking a particularly quiet and luxurious escape, unless you are happy to be constantly surrounded by little ones. That said, having seen the facilities and family-friendly atmosphere, I would certainly consider returning in the future with children of our own.
