Atlantica Thalassa

We returned this year after me & my 2 children had an amazing experience last July. All of the staff were extremely nice, in particular the reception staff, Maria and Anna (also the gentleman, sorry I didn’t get his name but he always greeted us with a smile) were very helpful & friendly. Our maid, Orlina was such a sweet and friendly lady, always happy to help when we needed anything. The renovation is lovely, very modern and every part of the hotel and the grounds is extremely clean. We stayed in rooms 128 & 127 and they were perfect, the views of the sea, sunset and sunrise were breathtaking. Rooms were clean and comfortable. These beds are extremely comfortable. We were above reception, close to the entertainment and were not disturbed by any noise. The building works next door were not loud at all, they worked from around 8am until midday and it wasn’t disturbing at all. The food was lovely, always of a good quality and temperature. Plenty of variety and the desserts were delicious. We didn’t try the new A La Carte as the menu wasn’t to our taste but it was very popular with other guests. Another fantastic and welcoming stay and we will definitely be returning. My daughter is looking to return without me but with her friends too. We have just returned from a week at this hotel, and we had a fabulous time, the hotel is very modern and clean, it hasn’t got a great deal around it and only about 145 rooms but we wanted somewhere a bit quieter, and our teenagers were happy. It’s about 40 mins on the coach from the airport, It has Spacious modern rooms and the beds were so comfortable. The Pool was great and not too deep, we always managed to find a sunbed, there is a supermarket onsite too. There was various activities taking place, my daughters did volleyball, darts and aqua aerobics. The food was lovely, we always found something, my daughter has an allergy and they took that seriously, and told me to speak directly to the chef to ask what she could and couldn’t eat, although most allergens were labelled. The drinks were great, and cocktails were lovely. There was a restaurant, snack bar and pool bar. We took taxis into kos town on a few occasions 10euro, and if you booked it it was slightly more at 15 euro. Kos town felt so authentically Greek still which was so nice to see, lovely shops and tavernas and ice cream Shops. It felt very friendly and safe. The staff at this hotel are so hard working and friendly, every one of them, the lifeguard was lovely, working during the day then in the bar in the evening, a lovely receptionist, and the entertainment team were great. All the restaurant and bar staff were so polite and friendly. We enjoyed the entertainment the singers were amazing, we also joined in with the bingo and quizzes. I’d highly recommend this hotel, it was relaxing and laid back and so enjoyable, we had an amazing holiday in kos and we would love to go back, I felt it was good value however we did go just before the uk schools broke up, from 6/7 to 13/7. It wasnt a long transfer from the hotel, only about 40 mins. We would recommend visiting paradise beach and catching the glass bottom dory boat out to the blue lagoon from kos to snorkel, it was a great day with plenty of time for swimming

We’ve just come back from a 10 day stay at Atlantica Thalassa, and had a brilliant time. The main thing that made it so great were the staff - they all worked so hard to make sure all the guests were looked after. The chefs and restaurant staff were attentive, the bar staff served drinks non stop and the cleaners were friendly and did a great job at keeping the hotel spotless. The groundskeepers as well kept the place looking great, and the reception team were always happy to help and answer any questions. A particular special shout out to the entertainment team; Stefan, Kat and Jaylin. They were so friendly and personable, getting to know all of the guests by name. They were running around doing non stop activities during the day - we loved playing beer pong and the aqua fitness! They also ran some evening activities, including the kids disco and quizzes. I genuinely think they made our holiday, they were so fun and we enjoyed getting to know them and having some good chats! ( Also the lifeguard (sorry I forget her name) - thank you so much for patching me up! ❤️ she must work non stop as she’s always at the pool in the day or serving in the bar in the evenings, always with a smile. A few other notes - there was a great range of drinks included (lots of cocktails, local spirits, beer), I didn’t love the wine but there was lots of other choice! The ala carte restaurant was a nice addition - you can visit there once in your trip. Huge portions but delicious and a nice change after a lot of similar (but still tasty) all inclusive buffet. The location of the hotel is on the outskirts of the town, so it’s a 10 min taxi journey into town (you can just go to reception and they will order one for you). Sometimes it takes a while… but that’s Greek timing for you! This location means you can’t easily walk to other places (bars/restaurants) but for us that wasn’t a problem as we had everything we needed at the hotel! We just popped into town a couple of times for shopping and excursions. The room was lovely, I think it had been recently updated and it was tastefully done. The beds were so comfortable and I pretty much fell asleep instantly every night. The only thing is there could have been a bit more drawer space but we made it work. On the whole the hotel was quiet, there was building works next door but you couldn’t hear or see these at the pool area. Overall great value for money, and would definitely recommend and try out another Atlantica hotel!

First to say the staff are brilliant! Stefan, Jaylin and Kat were incredible. Stefan was a real character around the resort and made us feel welcome the whole time…a credit to the hotel and 7/10 Volleyball player. Activities were great, highly recommend to say yes to everything, you ll soon know other guests super quick and make friends! The restaurant, lifeguard and bar staff work tirelessly, always smiling and happy to help. The hotel is super clean, food is great. Our room was cleaned daily and a decent size with most rooms having a decent balcony or outside area. There is also a small connivence store in the hotel which is super handy. Again, the staff were so friendly. The hotel is a ten minute drive (not walking distance.) from Kos city centre (a taxi booked from the hotel is £10 euros.). The pool is great and a decent size. There is a stage pictured in the photos is not used but did not affect the holiday at all. The beach nearby is quite small and stony but there is easy travel from the hotel to other parts of the island for better beaches (paradise beach - bubbles..have a look!) Atmosphere when we went was chilled by the pool with events if wanted to socialise and then chilled/family friendly evenings with entertained for adults and children. Loads of people at the hotel all said would go again!

This was a return 2 week stay to Atlantica Thalassa for my daughter and I, having stayed for a fortnight back in July 2023. We loved it the first time and wanted somewhere familiar. Quite a big price jump in 3 years. The sunsets at this hotel are to die for! There were some notable improvements/refurbishments to rooms in blocks 2 and 3, the main foyer and an internal bar area along. I also believe the outdoor pool had been made less deep. We noticed a very welcome introduction of reusable plastic glasses at the outdoor bar removing the unnecessary waste of singe use plastic at our last visit. We were also given a bottle of wine and some sweet treats by the manager in acknowledgement of our return stay. We were in block 3 facing west this time - overlooking a construction site which was disappointing, but someone has to have the rooms and to be fair there was no noise or disturbance and the room is only a place to sleep after all. Not everyone can have a pool view. The staff throughout the hotel are amazing and will go out of their way to help. Whether that be helping give out antihistamine crème when my daughter suffered a bad reaction to an insect bite and rapidly removing a bird that had sadly flown into the patio window and died. Some notable shout out to staff - Harvey and Stamatia in the food and beverage team. Hang onto these staff. They were both warm and welcoming every single day and would do anything to help. The evening entertainment this time around was more limited – we missed the Greek dancing! The entertainment staff – Kat, Stefan and Jaylin do a great job in keeping the activities going all day long and we joined in on the Aqua fitness/Zumba, bingo and beer-pong. Kat’s energy and positivity is amazing. The hotel seemed much busier than the same time 3 years ago – especially in the first week. We noticed it was no longer a uniquely Tui hotel extending to Jet2 Holidays, and there were more British guests and also younger age groups. Whilst no shortage of sun beds, the sun beds around the pool did not get taken as early at our last visit, but this year you’d would need to bag one of these by 7am! The introduction of the Aelia Mediterranean a la carte restaurant with the sun let view was lovely. The hotel does not have anything around it in terms of shops/restaurant and bars – this was not an issue for us and it is a short 2-euro bus ride to Kos town. The beach area could do with some tidying up/refining to make more people walk to go there. Probably the most irritating thing is the accessibility to the rest of the island. Frustrating the road the hotel is on can lead to Tigaki and beyond to the west but there is no public transport, so you have to go east to Kos town and then go back out to these resorts – essentially going in the opposite direction initially and obviously at an extra cost. A shuttle service to some of these resorts would be ideal even if just a couple of times a week. The introduction of a shower room for those with a late check out was really appreciated. In terms of what could be improved – more parasols for all sun beds. Only the beds around the pools had parasols. Whilst there was some shade canopies elsewhere there was not enough and the ground was sometimes boggy from over watering. It can get a bit windy - you might want to pack a light sweater/wrap.
