Atlantica Thalassa

Stayed for a week, remote but can easily get into Kos within 10 minutes with taxis. Rooms were very modern and clean, most rooms had a view of the mountains. Enough choice for food and drinks that everyone can eat something. Also a nice little beachfront connected with the hotel (can rent sunbeds for the day). Also plenty of activites and shows from the entertainment team (Ally, Jaylin & Kat). Very quiet for the time of year but a nice and peaceful getaway, would highly recommend booking.

Home and already missing this beautiful hotel. What a gem of a place, for so many reasons this hotel ticks all the boxes!. The weather may have gone against us for our trip but the hotel stands out for it's home from home feel and relaxed chilled atmosphere. The hotel team are incredible, despite it being the end of the season the standard of customer service was up there with some of the best we've experienced - they can't do enough for you!. Despite the clouds, the 3 individuals that always give you a reason to smile and that's the amazing entertainment team Ally,Jaylin and our girl Kat - thank you to them for making our Holiday. Special mention to Kat, she really does bring the sunshine that one!. Thank you Team Atlantica Thalassa 🥰

An honest review on our two week stay at Atlantica Thalassa Hotel in Kos. Firstly, the staff in this hotel are some of the friendliest and professional staff we have encountered on holiday. Service with a smile is an understatement and we were made to feel at home and almost part of the family from the start. A special mention to the superb entertainment team who, despite the low numbers of holiday makers at the end of the season, were amazing. Kat, Jaiyden and Ally were full of energy and enthusiasm from morning till night, having time and genuine interest in everyone in all age groups. This team, together with Catherine and all the bar staff made our stay really memorable so thank you for that. Rooms were small but clean and tidy which was perfect as we spend most of the day out anyway. Food was really good for an all inclusive with plenty of choice and rightly focused on local cuisine. Waiting staff are fantastically attentive and friendly. Mousaka, Gyros and Souvlaki all excellent. All inclusive drinks were good especially Catherine’s Negroni’s! The à la carte dining offered once on our stay was a nice experience with a not too expensive wine list complementing the meals. Entertainment was first class albeit limited on time of performances. An hour seemed to be the maximum time but quality of performances was excellent. Cats! We are cat people so didn’t mind the attention given to us by the many feline friends on site. This may however concern those who are not so happy to have dinner guests of the furry variety. It was also disconcerting to see some of the young cats in less than healthy condition raking in the bins at the rear of the hotel. The hotel does have a cat station and the staff are very compassionate towards them so maybe it’s not an easy problem to address. Location. The hotel is located off the main road so no issues with traffic noise. The small area of beach owned by the hotel is a very short walk down the driveway and across the road. It’s not the most picturesque little spot and litter along this whole stretch into Kos is really an issue that needs addressed! Having said that, the views are nice over to the Bodrum peninsula. We didn’t think the €4 a day subbed charge justified the location which was just off a main road and not very pretty! Sunbeds were also very worn out and not inviting compared with other hotels nearby. Experiences/Days Out from Atlantica We hired bikes from Stevebikes down the road which allowed just to visit nearby Tingaki and Marmari and also cycled into Kos town and marina. We walked into Kos town (45mins) and explored the ancient ruin sites which were free and so interesting! We did a three island cruise which we won at the bingo night ! It’s superb and would happily have paid for it Overall, we had a great time at Atlantica Thallasa which was largely down to the fantastic staff and marvellous entertainment team who make this hotel what it is. Is there room for improvement? Definitely. Reception area which doubles as entertainment venue is very smart on first appearance but seating is uncomfortable and stained in areas. Also inadequate for the number of guests when used as entertainment area. The dining area is pretty basic with old tiled floors and plastic tables and chairs which seem very dated and create a very canteen style experience. There’s a real disconnect between the reception areas and the dining area. We had a great holiday and overall experience and, despite the honest observations, would recommend the Atlantic Thalassa.

Just spent a nice 10 days at Atlantica Thalasso with my husband for our anniversary. Overall it was very nice, just a few things that let it down and would have made it a 5 star review. Given the time of year, the place was definitely far from full, not sure it would be as good an experience at a busier time. Rooms - perfectly decent size, with comfortable beds as noted by others, not very much storage space but we managed. Kettle in the room and nice big towels and mugs were appreciated. Bathroom door doesn't offer much in the way of privacy so you definitely want to be pretty comfortable with your travelling companion. Cleanliness was excellent, but there were a few maintenance issues that let it down slightly. I had requested a quiet room prior to checking in, but unfortunately the room assigned had a connecting door that let pretty much everything in from next door. Reception were very helpful and I was able to move to a room without one, which was much quieter. The bed wasn't quite as comfortable in the second room, but the trade for being able to sleep was well worth it. Shared Areas - plenty of seating and sunbeds, although the small number of beds by the pool went fairly quickly, which was a shame because they were much higher quality than the ones on the grass, which also lacked the table and umbrella that the pool ones had. I had heard that supposedly towels laid down too early were cleared but sadly did not see any evidence of this actually happening. I was disappointed that there was a charge to use the sunbeds on the hotel's beach. Food & Drink - The buffet was a small selection, but the hot food changed regularly and I found the variety to be sufficient, even for a 10 day visit. Quality was nothing outstanding but perfectly good. Dessert was a bit of a letdown, extremely repetitive and a very small selection, which was poorly labelled - most items just stated mixed cake. Drinks were pretty standard AI fare, I was disappointed that there was a list of included cocktails (almost all very sugary), and a list of 'premium' cocktails charged at 7E that included things I consider pretty standard like Margarita and Mojito. Staff - generally pleasant enough, a few particular standouts were Eva on reception, Christina at the bar and Stamatia the F&B manager - these ladies were all absolutely amazing and really made a big difference to our stay. Entertainment - I didn't participate in any of the daytime activities, I did find it a little disappointing that the schedule was pretty much identical every day. The evening entertainment was hit and miss, and a number of times did not proceed with what had been advertised. I was amazed that they were charging 5E a head to participate in the bingo, I've never seen that before. Wifi a bit patchy but mostly worked fine Location - definitely a bit isolated, and unfortunately I found bus, taxis and occasionally even the e-scooters to be a bit hit and miss in availability when returning to the hotel. (Plus the price on the e-scooters adds up very quickly) If you don't fancy walking the 45m-1h to town and back every time, and you can ride I would recommend hiring a bicycle or e-bike for your stay so that you can come and go as you please Overall, it was a pleasant and relaxing stay, and even with those caveats I would stay again
