Blue Lagoon Resort

Positives : Staff in the main are polite, helpful and very hard working.Massive amount of sun beds no rush to get up early. Pools are huge and separated for the little ones. Rooms are spacious with comfy beds, decent air conditioning and a good size balcony. Overall site cleanliness is good. Entertainment and the team is as you would expect. Kids club with usually a show to follow. Wide selection of food in the main buffet area. It does get busy. Themed restaurants need to booked in advance. Much quieter but similar food to the buffet. Steve’s bikes is just outside the resort great E bike €25 and buggie hire €120 per day. Negatives: The hotel beach is awful. Take beach shoes. Food isn’t kept hot enough. Quite cold on many occasions. Taxi QR code in reception was used to book a taxi €36 one way for a 7 minute journey to the harbour. You can also walk and usually takes 45 minutes. Had to walk a few times as there are not a lot of taxis about and the bus is very infrequent and is not to the schedule. Some drinks have to be paid for as they are not covered within the All Inc. eg Prosecco. Even drinks at some of the themed restaurants incur additional charge. Eg glass of house wine. Classed as 5 star which incurs the highest rate of tax per night of €15 per room. A good 3 star but not a 4 in my opinion. Overall a lovely week away just don’t expect 5star service.

Stayed here for 2 weeks in June - firstly the Hotel did accommodate us an move us to a family room as we travelled with 2 ASD adults. Unfortunately for the whole stay we had no wifi in our room (it was advertised with wifi in all rooms and areas) and we did complain about this to the Reception Staff on day 2 and day 3, our son needs the use of this with headphones to calm him down, gave up in the end. We also had lots of little frogs that we kept having to remove from the room each day along with mouse droppings. Reported to hotel on a couple of occasions during the first week nothing was done until day 9 when I phoned the TUI customer services in UK. They said they had done a deep clean of the room and we returned to find some droppings which they did come back and remove. Asked to move rooms but was told the Hotel was fully booked. This could have all been avoided if they had fixed the draught excluder on the door the week before when we requested it. Then they fumigated the room next door and when we returned there was a cockroach running around on daughters bed this totally freaked her out and she wasn't able to sleep for the last 3 nights. The dead cockroach they were supposed to collect from the room was still there when we left! The emotional distress this has caused has completely ruined the whole holiday experience. The food was cold on most days and only luke warm on the better day, there was a lot of choice and the salad was the only warm thing here. We ate out at extra cost on several occasions. The staff were friendly and helpful around the hotel and couldn't do enough for you but the whole experience has not been great and what you would expect from a 5 star accommodation. Complained to TUI on return and they aren't interested even though this was advertised as a 5 star hotel when we book and changed to a 4 star Platinum hotel before we left. I have also noticed that they have down graded to just a 4 star for next year. For the amount of pools and entertainment I would give this 4 strs but for the other things 3 star at best. I would not return to this hotel.

We had the best holiday at this resort, Nino and Chris were so lovely they were the best reps we’ve ever met! So much fun and helped us all day everyday. We will be returning.

Mainly a review on the animations team, normally I can’t get on board with animations teams but this hotel’s is FANTASTIC!!!! Palmera entertainment. The Disney night was by far the best and HUGE shout out to Nino and Mario!!!! The best.
