We visited this hotel and believed it to be a five star. It's not. Whilst the choice of pools especially for children are great, the hotel is kept clean, and the staff super friendly and helpful, the overall star rating of this hotel is 3 star at best. The rooms are dated, no mini bar which is to be expected for a five star, the bed sheets some of which are stained are not changed, you have to pay for alcohol in the a la carte restaurants which is crazy and also pay for a safe! Not things you expect to pay for in a five star! Two of the 'A la Carte restaurants' which sre the chinese and italian where you have ti pay for wine and beer are order from the menu style and the mexican, mediterean and greek a la carte are a buffet style just like the main restaurant. These are not a la carte just what I would consider theme nights and you dont pay for alcohol. The hotel also doesn't offer bottles of water, again something you normally expect in a five star hotel especially for children. The food is not nice to put it politely. We didn't eat a single meal which we considered to be hot, it was all cold or luke warm! We also found uncooked raw chicken in our gyros and didn't touch the chicken again. The salad and fruit was not kept cold, and looked so unappealing and an off brown colour. We kept well away from it which was disappointing. There was no effort to cover the food from flys either as most restaurants are outside. We ate out a couple of times just to have a decent meal. The buggys are a lovely touch to get you to and from different places as some are quite a walk from your room, and the guys who drive them are super friendly. The entertainment is shown in a massive tent with rows and rows of seats to watch the shows. It was hard to find a seat even in June. The team really make an effort to put on a good show, however it's very loud especially for small children and there was no relation to Greece e.g a greek show. We avoided the entertainment as it felt a bit like butlins. There is a bus stop 5 minutes from the hotel to take you to Kos Town for 2 euros an adult. If you order a taxi book in advance as we waited 45 minutes for one and there is also a queue of the same time to get back! There are lots of mosquitos so make sure you take plenty of repellant! We made the most of our holiday as a family with a 1 and 3 year old however the holiday is overpriced for what it is as the food is a 4/10 at best!

A nice stay at Blue lagoon. Went as a family of 7. Kids from 5 - 13 and 4 adults. Accommodation: great, rooms are clean, aircon worked, no issues Staff: wonderful and friendly, attentive, no issues whatsoever. Pools: we tried all the pools, the pirate ship pool was good for kids, albeit not many sunbeds. A bar next to it which is convenient. The kids pool near block 9000 was great, kids loved it and plenty of beds. The main pool, although impressive in looks, it’s just much more suited for older kids and adults. Not much for children. Adult only pool also good. Water park is excellent for people with young children, shallow water and our kids spent two full days there. Great service and good lunch selections. Food: look overall the food is fine, it’s not the best but they’re catering for 1000s of people. Never found much issues with it, just very normal selection. Could do with much better fruit selection. No bananas, no strawberries. Just very limited and not much “salad”. So felt in dire need of some light fresh food on return. The à la carte restaurants are ok, the themed nights are a bit hit or miss…. Italian was pretty bland and the Chinese the same… wouldn’t recommend either. Chinese service was probably the worst of the lot, very slow. Plenty of ice cream flavours for kids across the resort. Beer: Zorbas beer, nice but small cups so just grab more 🍺 Negatives: the £90 green tax per room is a bit of a kicker when you check in. We all expect these city / green tax but seemed expensive. Initially the size of the complex felt daunting but once you’re into it and find your way around; it’s a great hotel with plenty of amenities. Lack of fresh fruit was also a pain when you have younger children. Kos town is close by, well worth venturing out. We had two meals out of 7 in kos old town. Overall, a nice stay, no issues and would recommend it. Don’t understand the negative reviews. Was a pleasant visit!

We travelled to this hotel in June 2026 as a family with two young children. The first thing to mention, and the first impression on arriving, was just how big this resort is. I don’t think we anticipated the size of the hotel being quite so big, meaning of course there are a lot of people here. Overall, this wasn’t a problem, the restaurants are clearly designed to cater for large numbers of people, although the main buffet restaurant can become quite hectic. Overall queuing is kept to a minimum. I was pretty unhappy on arrival to be charged over 100 euros for a ‘green tax’ – I appreciate TUI warn you there could be local charges but paying an extra £100 for your holiday as soon as you walk through the door was unwelcome and an unpleasant surprise. The complex itself is clean, well designed and pleasant to be around. The main pool is a beautiful setting, again it gets busy but didn’t feel crowded, and although there are a large number of sunbeds, it is cleverly laid out that you didn’t feel too surrounded, apart from in one particular section. The hotel benefits from lots of different pools, including good options for younger children, and the waterpark which offered some good slides and a lazy river. Our eldest enjoyed this more than our 5yr old, who seemed too big for one part of the park and not big enough for the other. The hotel is almost split into two sites, the main site housing the main pool and restaurants, and the second quieter area which again had a few smaller pool options and a bar and bookable restaurant. This again gives patrons more options, although I would suggest you would have quite different experiences depending on which site your room is allocated. Helpfully, there are golf carts that are driven by staff throughout the day and these ferry people from one location to another for no cost. The hotel is cosmopolitan, it has lots of different nationalities staying there which we felt was a positive. The restaurants are varied, the main buffet has lots of different options, there is a bookable restaurant which has theme nights, an Asian cuisine restaurant, as well a Greek and a more formal option. I really enjoyed the variety and this meant most nights it was something different, without spending any extra money. Inevitably the cuisine is quite meat orientated, which was fine for us, but could be impactive for those who want something else. Good selections of puddings every day too! There is food available all day, and the waterpark has its own kiosks which provided a nice option. The crepe stands are a good idea but even in June the queues for these became silly, I cant imagine what August would be like. The bus journey to and from the hotel was easy enough, and Kos town was only 20mins on the local bus, albeit the timings of this were not exactly rigid and it got very busy and very hot. We found one day in town was more than enough. The hotel has other facilities to keep you occupied, including golf, football, basketball, and a spa. The beach is over the road and is lovely, with beautiful views over the Aegean to Turkey. We enjoyed some stunning sunsets on here as the sun set behind Pserimos. The rooms were the biggest let down for us. The room itself was clean, the walk in wardrobe was useful, and we gave our children the main bedroom so we could access the balcony in the evenings, meaning we slept in the main room. All the beds were twins, albeit the ones in the main room were pushed together to create a double of sorts; I had deliberately booked expecting a double bed – holiday should be a time of reconnection after all. The shower was an over the bath shower which only came to my shoulders being relatively tall, and would often suddenly become scalding hot for no reason, if only for a few seconds. The biggest annoyance was the lack of sleep. Cockerells roam free around the hotel (as do cats), and we often awoke to noisy cockerels at all hours. The entertainment (which my five year old was certainly not impressed with!) often went on past 11pm, and on the other side of the room the noise from people returning to their rooms, or cars going past on the road, or dogs barking at nearby houses, all meant that over the week we had a number of frequent disturbed nights. I don’t mention the mosquitos because that is part of life in a warmer climate, but the other things we felt were avoidable with better soundproofing and more consideration to lay outs. The final significant issue was on check out day. We weren’t due to be collected until after 3pm, and the hotel allow you to continue to use the facilities. However, the courtesy room where you could change out of pool attire into travel attire was closed between 12-3, which seemed ludicrous. This meant at lunch time we crowded into a disabled toilet to get everyone changed ready for the journey home. Again, we could have paid extra for late checkout, or changed our plans, but it just seemed poorly thought out for a resort which tries to cater for all. And that is what stood out – in trying to cater for all it sometimes missed the mark. To finish on a more positive note, the staff are generally very helpful, and the bars serve a nice collection of cocktails including mixed drinks for kids. We also found they would make anything you asked for, so we all tried things we might not usually and this was a nice touch. Overall it’s a nice resort, the weather was incredible, its well resourced as I alude to above, there were just some things which let it down and lost it marks.
