Dimitra Beach Hotel & Suites

Had a wonderful holiday here in September. Stayed in a beachfront villa with a fabulous seaview and close to the pool and bars. Room was clean and tidy albeit the bathroom was a little dated. Food was excellent, in particular the Italian was superb! All staff were friendly and very helpful and always had a smile. We enjoyed it so much we are honeymooning back here in May 26. Highly recommended for a peaceful, relaxing holiday with great staff.

Avoid booking here if you have any allergies or dietary requirements. Really uneducated on cross contamination, allergies and dietary requirements. I emailed and messaged multiple times ahead of booking to confirm that it was safe to travel here for me. There was next to no labelling of the food items on the buffet (this is European law). I spoke to management multiple times throughout my holiday and it was barely resolved with only certain items of food labelled and others still not. I was later offered a separate menu to order from which I never received when going to collect it as it was never available. It was a running joke to the staff. I was advised my disease was a lifestyle choice and I should just enjoy myself (I’m celiac). Additionally, the staff were witnessed to be bullied multiple times by their managers in the catering department. Buffet locations felt like a works canteen. The pool areas are not monitored, and they are extremely slippy, we had a family member slip at the pool side with very poor first aid and medical attention given with refusal to call for an ambulance, we later discovered they had broken their hip and had to be flown home early on privately. There is only a small entertainment space so it’s a struggle to get seats to watch. The table service in this area was extremely slow and we were getting wrong for going up to the bar to get drinks quicker. On a positive note, it’s a really beautiful location the views are tremendous, we could not fault the weather. Regular bus outside the hotel for trips to Kos town was very handy. Rooms were tidy and cleaning staff very friendly and helpful. My a la carte experience was fantastic and really helped restore my faith a little but likely because they were expecting me following my discussions with management during the week about my concerns.

This hotel is lovely if you are couple. We went with or two kids who were 9 and 7. If it wasn't for the friends they made a day into the holiday they would have been so fed up. There is nothing for the kids at all entertainment wise. We played uno a lot. It's all table service which is frustrating and time consuming. You've finished your breakfast time they come to offer you a hot drink. It's almost impossible to get drunk waiting 40 minutes for a drink in the evenings. We ventured out later in the week I wish we had done so quicker as eating out in kos town was fantastic. I felt food in the hotel was a bit basic fine for the kids. Room was lovely, cleaner was fantastic. Pool bar very good, best mojitos here. Views were amazing from the hotel. Kids used the sister hotel for playing football it was easy enough to do. I used the sister hotel gym which was poor. One working treadmill. Usually hotels have a laundry room with facilities that are reasonably priced, not here though just hand the washing to reception which worked out to be very expensive compared to previous. The thermal springs are a 30 minute walk away and look out for rogue goats on the road. I wouldn't go again to this hotel personally. We did a holiday village last year and I missed the ease of that so much. I don't agree that it's a 5 star either. Also found it a bit bizarre the tourist tax is based on the rating of your hotel so wondering if they are overrated generally. On the whole good holiday but have had better.

Very clean hotel with rooms cleaned every day. Good choice of food. A la carte restaurant was great. Special mention to Adina in the bar - she was excellent. Gym was in the hotel up the road - a long trek for a very poor quality gym with many machines not working. A

We were at the hotel during the last week of October leading to November 2nd. Hotel cleanliness was excellent. Friendly staff in the restaurants and bars. Food choices were great in the restaurants as there were choices of Greek, Italian and English cuisine. Omelette bar for the breakfast was a great addition if you are an omelette fan. Bars: have tried all 4 bars which were open during our stay and drinks were excellent. All freshly made with branded vodka, rum and Gin. Iced coffee with amaretto was my preferred choice. Pools were cold as expected in the end of October. Yet we had a nice time dipping in the cold water Jacuzzi by the pool closer to the Greek restaurant. Very clean hotel and ideal place to relax. Kids club wasn’t functioning well as it’s located in a tiny space by the kids pool. Kids were disappointed and as adults we were disappointed as well. The kids club staff weren’t interested in doing any activities with children. If you are coming to the hotel with little children don’t have high hopes about kids club and kids entertainment. Giogras (hope I wrote correctly) and the main restaurant staff were great!
