I booked this holiday expecting a high-quality family resort suitable for children aged 6 and 8. Based on the hotel's marketing, branding, and pricing, I expected a relaxed, family-oriented environment. Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. In my opinion, Grecotel LUXME Kos is not the luxury family resort it presents itself to be. It is primarily a classic all inclusive hotel focused on accommodating large numbers of guests. Throughout our stay, the resort felt extremely crowded, and this significantly affected the overall quality of the holiday. As a family with young children, the biggest issue was the atmosphere created by the all-inclusive concept. A large number of guests appeared to consume alcohol from morning until late at night. The bars were constantly busy, and excessive drinking seemed to be a central part of the holiday experience for many visitors. As a result, several pool areas and evening venues often felt loud, hectic, and unsuitable for families seeking a calm and relaxing environment. This was not the type of atmosphere I wanted for my children. I found it disappointing that there appeared to be far more emphasis on unlimited drinks than on creating a genuinely family-friendly experience. Instead of feeling like an upscale family resort, the hotel often felt like a destination where alcohol consumption was one of the main attractions. This significantly reduced the quality of our stay. The hotel itself also failed to meet expectations. While the grounds are relatively attractive, many areas felt tired and in need of renovation. Parts of the accommodation appeared outdated, and the overall standard did not justify the high price we paid. The gap between the luxury image promoted by the hotel and the reality on site was considerable. The dining experience was equally disappointing. The buffet was large, but after a few days the food became repetitive and lacked variety. The restaurants often felt crowded and noisy, making meals with children more stressful than enjoyable. Rather than offering a premium culinary experience, the focus seemed to be on serving large volumes of guests as efficiently as possible. Even basic logistics were frustrating. Something as simple as arranging a taxi to Kos Town turned out to be unnecessarily difficult and unreliable. For a resort that claims to offer a premium guest experience, transportation support was surprisingly poor. Service quality was inconsistent. Some staff members were friendly and professional, but overall the hotel appeared overwhelmed by the sheer number of guests. The result was a lack of personal attention and a feeling that guests were being processed rather than genuinely cared for. Overall, I would not recommend Grecotel LUXME Kos to families looking for a peaceful and high-quality holiday. The resort is, in my view, a crowded classic all inclusive hotel where excessive alcohol consumption by many guests has a noticeable impact on the atmosphere. Combined with overcrowding, repetitive food, dated facilities, transportation issues, and inconsistent service, the experience fell far short of what I expected from a luxury family vacation. For families with children seeking relaxation, comfort, and a genuinely family-focused environment, I believe there are significantly better alternatives on Kos.
The hotel is nice enough but there are various things that need to improve: tired and dated parts of the hotel (specifically the outer rooms not attached to the main building, unfinished parts (exposed wiring in the ceilings, missing lights, loose pool lights and pool rails, sunbed wars (if you're not up at 6 you're out of luck), towels smell horrible and once wet can give off a bad smell, sticky floors around the pool where cocktails have fallen and not been cleaned, very cold pools in July and August, dirty sun beds, the showers are either boiling hot or freezing cold (many people said the same), stained furniture in the food hall, not the best selection of food (especially for picky nurodiverse eaters like our son), not easy to book into the a la carte restaurants (we had to go to reception as the app system isn't great), the wifi is intermittent and off more than on. Lastly the rooms you get to freshen up in on the last day aren't very clean, the bathroom has used towels piled high in the corner and the bins were overflowing. I understand different countries versions of 5* standards may differ but we booked this holiday in good faith, trusting the hotel's advertised 5-star rating and paying a premium price accordingly. Sadly, we do not feel the experience we received reflected either the standard advertised or the price we paid. We have taken this up with Easyjet who the package was purchased through.
The best place to spend a vacation. Wonderful service, delicious food, and a beautiful property in a picturesque location. The perfect place to relax.
Excellent service, with friendly and professional personnel. The facilities are extraordinary and the selection of restaurants and variety of entertainment exceeds expectations. The personal touch of the management and the approach of the staff makes a family’s and not only holiday memorable. In few words hospitality reinvented! Thank you very much, G Petrof S Kotinopoulos
We visited the hotel a week ago, and I would like to give a special thank you to the staff of the reception team: Rafaela, Tatiana, and Lefteris. Their service was outstanding, fast and highly professional. A big thank you also goes to the housekeeping team for taking such great care of our room every day and to our friend Ervin from the Asian restaurant for his kindness and excellent service. Thank you all for making our stay so enjoyable. We truly appreciated your hospitality and look forward to visiting again.
