We stayed at TUI Magic Life Marmari Palace in September as part of a large family group and unfortunately were very disappointed with our experience. Based on our stay, I do not feel this hotel meets the standard or star rating that it advertises, and it has made us think twice about booking another TUI package holiday. The hotel itself feels very disjointed, with facilities spread across a large area and very limited accessibility. There is no proper step-free access in many areas, making it unsuitable for elderly guests, wheelchair users, or anyone with mobility issues. My grandfather regularly struggled to get around the resort and at one point waited over an hour for a buggy, while staff were using buggies to transport towels and supplies instead. Cleanliness was also a concern. We found ant nests around the apartment areas and discovered mould in ice cream near the bar, we told a staff member who seemed to sort it whoever two days later it was mouldy again, with children continuing to scoop it into tubs. This was completely unacceptable for a hotel of this supposed standard. Food and drink were very inconsistent. The buffet offered a reasonable choice overall, but there was a lack of child-friendly options at breakfast, lunch and snack times. The speciality restaurants were disappointing, with limited menus that did not appeal to our family, so we chose not to dine in them after viewing the options. Drinks were often poorly made and varied dramatically depending on which bartender served them, with some appearing watered down. The beach itself was lovely, but there was no restaurant or drink service available there, meaning guests had to walk all the way back to the main hotel facilities. Given the size of the resort, this was very inconvenient. Entertainment was one of the biggest disappointments. Most evenings consisted of loud parties and music rather than family-friendly shows. The show that we did see was not particularly suitable for children, same for the beach party and much of the evening entertainment appeared to be focused on teenagers and young adults. There was also very little atmosphere around the hotel, with no background music after entertainment ended strangely silent afterwards which was every night. The kids' club also raised concerns. One member of our group witnessed a young child being left unattended near the pool area. Much of the children's entertainment and music was also in German. Staff service was mixed. Some staff members were pleasant, but others came across as rude and unhelpful. We were told to move chairs ourselves on one occasion, while staff appeared much more attentive to guests who were regularly tipping. This created an uncomfortable atmosphere. Despite the hotel's stated policy regarding sunbed reservations, there was a daily rush each morning with guests reserving sunbeds using towels. The policy was either not enforced or not enforced consistently, making it difficult to find available sunbeds later in the morning and creating an unnecessarily competitive atmosphere around the pool areas. Most concerning of all, my husband, who is African, was subjected to racist comments from other guests regarding his skin colour while relaxing by the pool. While the hotel cannot control every guest's behaviour, it was upsetting and contributed to an environment where we did not always feel welcome. Also, The boat trip sold by the TUI rep was poor value. We later found we had paid far more than other guests and were told it was suitable for my disabled grandfather when it clearly was not. The boat was overcrowded, had steep inaccessible stairs to the toilet, limited seating and music that was not family-friendly. Considering we paid thousands for this holiday, we expected far better. The beach was the main positive, but overall the hotel failed to deliver the quality, service and family-friendly experience that was advertised. In our opinion, this is nowhere near the luxury standard promoted by TUI, and we would not return.
My fiancé and I were very pleased with our stay. Everything was well organized, the food was good, and the staff were consistently friendly. We would especially like to mention Jazmine, who was always cheerful, attentive, and easy to approach. Her kindness felt genuine, and she always took the time to make guests feel comfortable and welcome. Overall experience, it was a very positive experience, and we would be happy to return again.
We have just returned from another wonderful stay at TUI Magic Life Marmari Palace in Kos and once again it did not disappoint. My gold star goes to Demitris in the Wunderbar. He provided constant five-star service, always making sure your glass was never empty. He was friendly, attentive and incredibly hard-working, and his excellent service made our holiday even more enjoyable. I'd also like to give a big shout-out to the dancers and fitness team, who ran an outstanding exercise programme. I thoroughly enjoyed the Step & Burn, Zumba, Pilates X-Press, Fascia Fitness and Auqufit classes. The team brought so much energy and enthusiasm to every session. The food and restaurant service was excellent, with plenty of choice and consistently high standards throughout our stay. Thank you to everyone at TUI Magic Life Marmari Palace for another memorable holiday. We can't wait to return!
Had a nice holiday here for a week and it was helped along by lovely Demitris every evening in the Wunderbar, we was friendly, attentive and great fun. The hotel should be very proud to have staff like him on the team he works incredibly hard.
Had a great time, the hotel is generally lovely and you can get involved as much as you wish depending how you like to holiday, I would say there is enough for all. Dimitris in the Winderbar looked after us very well every evening, couldn't fault him for his friendly, fun service. He worked incredibly hard to ensure we were looked after along with everyone else. The hotel should be proud to have fab staff like him.
