Atrium Palace Thalasso Spa Resort and Villas

Two weeks, solo, early June. The aim was simple: fly and flop, and the Atrium Palace is built for exactly that. I left fairly sure it’ll be hard to beat, having met a couple of guests who keep coming back, one since 2005! Other reviewers have already covered the important things and they’re right: the staff are warm and genuinely attentive, the housekeeping is faultless, the rooms and grounds spotless, the food excellent. All true, so I won’t labour it. Instead, a few things that struck me and that might actually help you plan. It never felt full. For what must have been close to capacity in mid June, there was no scramble for sunbeds and plenty of space, the whole place somehow quiet. I got down early most mornings for yoga and the gym, but for a sunbed I needn’t have bothered. My room was a sea-view terrace where I enjoyed a coffee from the swanky in-room espresso maker as the sun came up, and as a late arrival was met with a plate of food, a bottle of wine and fresh flowers. Breakfast covers every expectation: cheeses, fruit, fresh pastries, a full English, fresh juices, and champagne, which is of course the proper way to start a day. I sampled the lot most mornings. I regret nothing. The spa has been well covered by others too, but it earns it. I did a two-hour full body scrub with salts and lotions and came out feeling several years lighter and unable to remember what I’d been tense about. Build a morning around it. The beach is a short stroll through the resort, and though it’s pebbly it’s only a few steps and perfectly fine barefoot. The water is extraordinary, clear, turquoise and warm. Ask Lucas at the beach about the boat trip: forty euros, roughly half past nine to half three, an old fishing boat that chugs along at a snail’s pace to a string of swimming spots, then a long lazy lunch at a village taverna. One of the best days of the fortnight. Do it. Lindos is a ten-minute taxi away, about fifteen euros each way, and worth it for the maze of whitewashed streets and the views from the Acropolis. A few practical notes worth knowing. Greece’s climate tax is charged per room per night and paid locally at the hotel, and the tax alone came to €210 over my two-week stay, so budget for it and bring cash, as nobody flagged it to me beforehand. I also went half board, but the extras mount up fast, cocktails run eleven to fourteen euros and the bar and restaurant spend adds up, so all inclusive might well have worked out the same or better. Do the sums before booking. And there’s little within walking distance, no tavernas to stroll to, so factor in taxis, with Lindos ten minutes away your best bet for great food. One small gripe: the evening entertainment is good, a proper mix of song and dance, but it wraps at eleven just as the place is hitting its stride. I understand rooms are close by, but nudged somewhere it could run later, those in a party mood would happily carry on. And the cats. Others have mentioned them, but they deserve a proper word. The main one, ginger, goes by Garfield, and joined me every evening without fail, sitting with me like it was the most natural thing in the world. He brought his mates too, one of whom I took the liberty of naming Chutney. I said goodbye to them properly, which is not something I expected to be writing in a hotel review. Would go back tomorrow. 9.7, and the missing 0.3 is purely that it ended. To anyone heading out there: see if you can find Garfield and his crew. They run the place quietly and take evening visitors. And if you’re from management, look after them for me. I’ll be checking.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Rhodes. Everything was excellent from the moment we arrived until our departure. The staff were incredibly friendly, professional, and always willing to help with a smile. The accommodation was comfortable, well-maintained, and very clean. Housekeeping did a fantastic job every day. The food was outstanding, with a great variety of fresh and delicious options for every meal. The hotel facilities were excellent, and the overall atmosphere was relaxing and welcoming. Beach was really clean and the sea superblue (better with shoes, but not nessecery.) Many comfortable sunbeds and ordering drinks&foods by QR. The same by the pool… We truly enjoyed our holiday and felt very well taken care of throughout our stay. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Rhodes and would gladly return in the future. Thank you to the entire team for making our vacation so enjoyable! 🌞🏖️

Just finished a wonderful holiday at this lovely hotel. All the staff are so nice and would always greet you with a smile and go out of their way to give you a good time. Too many names to mention but a big shout out for Alexandros and his team of Nicos,Carlotti,Elena, and Yanas at the Greek and Italian restaurants where we had lunch most days and they always seemed pleased to see us and made it a happy place for us to go. I never knew the chefs names but they need a mention because the food was fantastic. The staff at the fish and Zen restaurants were great as well. A special mention to Erica at reception who was always willing to help us with anything we needed. ( all the reception staff were great) . Last but not least a special mention to Lucas down at the beach who organised a wonderful boat trip for us and I highly recommend it. Wonderful hotel and we are already planning our next trip back here

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Atrium Palace. Having researched beforehand, we accepted this hotel was in a quiet area, perfect for a “fly and flop” holiday. We upgraded to a sea view suite, which was clean and spacious. Two things stood out for me, firstly the staff are all fantastic. Apologies if I miss anybody but Roan in the animation team and our son really bonded during our break. He was so full of fun and energy. It gave us time to relax as a couple. Jason (Ghost) the lifeguard is a wonderful fella, say hi to him as he does his rounds of the pool. The bar staff Vasillis, Christos, Nikos and Antonio at the pool bar are all great. The second was the food options on premium all inclusive. The gourmet restaurants Zen and Asterias are fantastic, with a decent choice. The only slight disappointment was little variety’s in the kids menus. We also ate lunch at Il Gusto and Messagenes. All of the staff here are also attentive (Thank you Demetris) and the food was great! In Symposium, the main buffet restaurant, I felt the food options were good, but could be better. Then we realised you can also order from an ala carte menu and have this delivered to your table. Most of the staff here are also very happy and attentive, Especially Valentina and Kiki. Finally, don’t forget to have a wander down to the beach and speak with Lukas. (Step into his living room) He arranged a very reasonable boat hire, for 4 hours- complete with a skipper. Our 10 year old was able to drive the boat, which I think will be a long lasting memory of this holiday. Thank you to everyone who made this holiday one to remember. The Lewis Family

A wonderful 5 star experience from beginning to end. The staff make this hotel special. They are so welcoming and maintain high standards in every area. We felt very spolit 😊
