Upon arriving we checked into our family sea view room to find a tiny view of the sea in the peripheral and a building site. The room was also very cramped with not much room to move (room 242) and very little storage. For two adults and two children, I would not recommend this room. Thankfully when we complained at reception they advised that they could move us into a new room the next day. The new room was much better and bigger than the one before, and though on the ground floor we had a better view of the sea. Then we learned that getting a sun bed was going to be a challenge. Everyone was up and already reserving beds at 6:30am! I absolutely can’t stand this, who comes on holiday and wants to set an alarm to reserve a sunbed? There are signs saying that reservations are not allowed but we did not see any evidence of this, and one day we saw two beds reserved and left empty until 1pm, and no one removed their towels. This was extremely disappointing. At the end of our holiday (10 nights) we did see that some towels were being removed which was great to see. It was just a shame that this wasn’t done religiously. I found the food pretty good overall with a decent selection, but the drinks are very bad. Despite a good selection, the cocktails, wine and beer are VERY watered down and everything is on tap. I appreciate using local brands but I strongly believe these had been watered down and were not just weaker local brands. The grounds are nice and well kept. The children’s entertainment was ok, but the kids disco every night is repetitive. The staff were generally friendly and the cleaners were very helpful. On the last day our flight wasn’t until 11:30pm so we asked if we could extend our room. We were told that we could for €59 until 7pm but would have to move rooms. When we moved into the new room (room 7) I was surprised to find a much better family room! This one clearly had been renovated. It was much bigger with a separate toilet a shower. The children’s room had a proper wall between rather than the slats in the other rooms with its own TV and there was better storage too with a full length mirror and dressing table too. We would’ve been much happier with this room had we known before even without the sea view as it was a ground floor garden room. Overall we had a good holiday but I wouldn’t come back to Avra Beach. I’ve stayed at better all inclusive resorts. It’s a shame as it could be great with a few small tweaks.
We are just finishing our holiday as a family of Three and we are so sad to be going home. What a wonderful hotel from accommodation to food and entertainment, especially all the wonderful entertainment team Sam; Boogie (his energy is wild and contagious and a joy to be around); Lia and Irena. My daughter spent a week doing the kids club/mini disco and had her face painted each night. The love and care that goes into making the children feel special and Part of something so memorable is something I can’t say is anywhere else. Whilst here we have watched amazing shows: been part of bingo; kareoke; a beach party; the wonderful Lia’s performance (truly talented) and also the Pink Pool Party which was such a fun experience for us all. The food was lovely, lots of choice and the only downside I can say is that breakfast finishes a little early at 9:30am - that is my only fault. Our hotel room was cleaned every day, and I couldn’t fault it for a second. The hotel in general is always clean; staff are so friendly and polite and they work incredibly hard. The location was lovely - admittedly we didn’t see much of the island and only did the old Town but we felt that the hotel had so much to keep us busy we didn’t feel the need to venture far. An absolutely wonderful hotel, beautiful beach and location with a sunset every evening which stunning to see. Family friendly, relaxing but with an atmosphere. You can get involved, watch from the sides or take yourself away depending how you feel. I would return without a doubt - so thank you for a memorable holiday filled with lots of smiles.
Best hotel ever !!! Entertainment was excellent . The animation team was amazing especially Boogie and Tibi !! Clean rooms and great food . Definitely coming back next year.

We are just back from a week’s stay at Avra Beach and the resort was a real delight from start to finish. As a family of four, we stayed in one of the older rooms (806) and although a little dated, it perfectly served our needs: spacious, comfy beds and functioning air conditioning. On a holiday, the room (for me) is the place you spend the least amount of time in, so I’m not overly concerned about the decor. But this was a very minor aside in what was a wonderful holiday. I sometimes fear all-inclusive resorts when it comes to the food, as catering for huge numbers, it can feel a bit school-canteen- and mass-produced. However, we were pleasantly surprised at the variety and quality of food on offer: a number of themed nights during our stay ensured it remained wide ranging and breakfast and lunch times were always plentiful. The pool and bar areas were clean, and the staff were friendly and engaging. Drink and snack selection was also very good. However, as many other reviews have rightly pointed out, the highlight for us was the work of the animation team to keep guests - young and old - engaged throughout the day. From the 10am dance on the bridge, aqua fit, water polo, volleyball, kids club, to the kids disco in the evening (I have had to create an “Avra Beach” Spotify playlist with all the songs!); there was always something to keep spirits high. I especially want to give a special mention to Irina and Lia, who our two daughters completely fell in love with. The kindness and affection they showed not just to them, but all the children in the hotel, has left a lasting impression. So much so, I spent the majority of the coach transfer back to the airport and subsequent flight home comforting a tearful six year-old who didn’t want to leave “the best holiday I’ve ever been on.” I’ve been fortunate enough over the years to have visited a number of Greek islands and was always of the mind that I wouldn’t return to the same place twice - however Avra Beach may have just become the exception. A brilliant hotel and a destination I would recommend to anyone in a heartbeat. Thank you, Avra. See you again…
