Avra Beach

We have just returned from a amazing week at Avra Beach , we didnt want our holiday to end. We took our 9 year old granddaughter and she loved it , the pool and activities. The animation team are amazing Sam, Lia, Tibi and Boogie, a big thankyou for making our holiday special. The hotel is spotless, food is amazing good value for money. Hotel is situated on the beach, views are breathtaking. We will definately be returning next year. Thankyou to all the staff for making our holiday memorable.

We are back this year for our second time at Avra Beach and we have loved every second! the entertainment in the evenings and throughout the day is for all ages supported with an amazing animation team. I will be definitely coming back and have had amazing memories here! It is a lovely sea front hotel in rhodes and has amazing views and food too!!

This year was our second year of coming back and once again it’s safe to say we will 100% be coming back, the animation team are absolutely amazing and are always enthusiastic about everything going on at the hotel and make everyone feel included, I would recommend the hotel to anyone that wants to come to Rhodes

Our room was lovely, it had a beautiful sea view and really spacious for a family of 4. There was lots of storage (I think we had the older block rooms that have been refurbished) and the bathroom was great. Fab shower! Lovely balcony area. The rooms are also cleaned daily with fresh towels and bedding. I do think new pillows are required however as they were a bit lumpy and flat. Staff all seemed very pleasant and helpful. Great shop on site which was very reasonably priced! Food was lovely although the buffet every night was not for us and it sometimes felt like a canteen, especially nearer the end of our week when it got very busy due to half term. The restaurant was ok. Again great service but the meat served wasn’t great and no fish option. The lunch option was good though with lovely tasty salads and gyros. We ate out a lot but this is just our preference. Beach bar, ok this is average. The drinks also especially having to pay extra for things like espresso martini and no ice coffee. Also long queues - more staff needed during busy periods. Lovely beds on the beach but you have to get there quickly to get one. Although we did see them putting more new ones out the day we left. The blue beds were comfy enough and by mid afternoon you’re able to get a comfy bed on the beach. Beautiful sunset and sea views. The colours were WOW. kids loved the pool, which was very clean! We arrived around midnight and there wasn’t anyone to help with our luggage I’d suggest this to be an option as there were stairs and no lifts also where we were. Visited symi island, St George bay, got a car hire to Anthony Quinn bay and we got a taxi to old Rhodes town on some evenings. All beautiful and a must visit!!

We visited as a family with a mixture of ages, including children, from 16/05–26/05 and had a fantastic holiday from start to finish. We were able to check in earlier than expected, which was very much appreciated after travelling. We booked a Superior Garden View Family Room and found it to be clean, modern, and well maintained throughout our stay. If I had to suggest any improvements, I would say the pillows were a little flat, and I agree with previous comments about needing a rail or somewhere more practical to hang towels after use. However, neither issue affected our stay in any meaningful way. The selection of food and drink was excellent, and there was always something available even for the fussiest eaters. Snacks were available throughout the day, which was great for the children. We ate in the à la carte restaurant one evening, which made for a nice change from the buffet. Our meals came out at different times, but overall it was still a lovely experience. The main buffet restaurant was also very good, and as a large group we often worry about finding seating together, but this was never an issue here. We’ve stayed in 5-star resorts where we’ve had to split up, so this was really appreciated. One small addition that would be nice would be ice lollies available during the day, although ice cream was always available. The sunbed situation was far better than expected. The more luxurious “posh” sunbeds near the pool and beach were snapped up early, but there were still plenty of standard sunbeds available, especially on the beach, so we never struggled to find somewhere to relax. The hotel also has a policy of removing towels from “reserved” sunbeds between 8am and 9am, which we thought was fantastic. I must admit I took great delight in seeing people return hours later wondering where their belongings had gone after trying to reserve beds at dawn! I can imagine during peak season there may be a few arguments over sunbeds, though. Every member of staff we interacted with was wonderful. Helena from Guest Relations was friendly, attentive, always smiling, and happy to help. The lifeguard was extremely observant and clearly took his role seriously which is appreciated. The animation team absolutely MADE our holiday. My daughter is naturally shy and often struggles to join in with activities, but they really helped bring her out of her shell and made this her best holiday ever. A huge thank you to Boogie, Tibi, and Sam for being so kind, energetic, and inclusive. They encouraged guests to join activities without ever being pushy or overbearing, which we really appreciated. My daughter especially loved the face painting and pizza-making activities, and the highlight of every day for her was the mini disco. She is already asking when we can return next year! As a cat lover, I’m always a little anxious when travelling abroad as I hate seeing animals neglected, but I was pleasantly surprised here. There were a few cats around the resort, but they all looked fairly healthy, relaxed, and well cared for. Staff did not shoo them away and were perfectly happy for guests to feed them, which I did daily. We also took a day trip to Rhodes Old Town, which we thoroughly enjoyed and would highly recommend. Bus tickets can be purchased from the hotel shop, and the bus stop is conveniently located right outside the hotel. We are usually more “relax by the pool” people than explorers, but we were really glad we made the trip. Overall, we had a fantastic holiday and are already looking at returning next year.
