Kalithea Horizon Blu

We stayed in July 2026. The hotel is set above the sea with great views. The location is good with a bus stop nearby taking you to Rhodes old town for €2.50 each way or Falaraki. There is no air con anywhere in the hotel apart from your hotel room. Dining is all outside with no AC which we struggled with due to the heat. Drinks are okay. AI beer is not the best but doable. Hotel is mainly catered for Germans / French / Dutch - very little British people staying at the hotel. Close to a lovely beach which is great for snorkelling. There was a lot of lotuses outside our hotel room which make a dreadful sound all night which kept us awake the first 3 nights but then you get use to them . Overall a nice hotel but don’t think we will be returning anytime soon.

It's a huge hotel on a cliff with its own beach down the hill, there is a free golf cab which can take you there if you don't want to walk, but they stop running after 6 pm. There is a shop in the hotel which has everything you may need during your stay, including some over the counter meds. The bus stop to go to Old Town is just outside the hotel (cash and card payment). Pros. The food is amazing, lots of choice. Good drink menu. Rooms are cleaned daily and are absolutely spotless. Staff are very friendly. Cons. Ants and flies. We had ants on our balcony and some in the room. They gave us a spray which helped to keep the ants away from the room, but there were still a lot of them on the balcony. Flies are a huge annoying problem too, impossible to just sit down and relax outside during the day. You can avoid them though if you go to stay by the lower pool or by the sea. NB. The beach bar and the beach sunbeds are all inclusive for blue bracelets only (Polish and German guests). All others, including the UK guests, have to pay for that.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Kalithea Horizon Royal. The whole resort was immaculate — spotless rooms, beautifully maintained grounds, and a genuinely relaxing atmosphere throughout.The food was great every single day, with loads of choice and consistently high quality. We especially loved the Thalassa Restaurant, where Tania was always warm, welcoming, and so lovely to chat to. She made every meal feel special.Our room was kept perfect thanks to Maria, our housekeeper, who went above and beyond to make sure everything was fresh and immaculate.Evenings at the lounge bar were a highlight too — Savvas was brilliant, friendly, and always made sure we were well looked after. Honestly, ignore the bad reviews. This hotel is absolutely fab. We had a wonderful experience from start to finish, and the staff truly make it exceptional. We would happily return.

Absolutely fabulous hotel. Couldn’t fault the staff in the restaurants, the food, drinks, cleanliness. Plenty of sun beds in June but I bet in July August would be more difficult to find space. Lots of different pools. Huge complex. We were there 4 days and didn’t see it all. Only one complaint, we were a party of 4. We had booked two separate sea view rooms but upon check in they gave us an “upgrade” with free access to the beach bar and loungers and supposedly a fantastic view. We were told it was a family room with one bathroom but as we were only there four nights and loved being all together we accepted the “upgrade”. Needless to say it wasn’t. There was one tiny room with twin beds and one super large room with a king bed. One bathroom. The fantastic view was the buffet restaurant but as only there 4 nights we were happy. The complaint was on checkout, on check in we had paid the two lots of tourist tax of €40 per room and as we ended up just in one room with one hey and one room number we asked for one €40 to be refunded. We got nowhere and were advised it was two rooms! Although we disputed the “suite” just had one room number the staff didn’t budge. It left sour taste on what was a superb break. Having said that we would return but stick with the two separate rooms. 4 women in their late 50s/early 60s sharing a bathroom worked but would have been better just 2 people sharing. Don’t bother with the beach it’s not worth it in our opinion but we definitely recommend the hotel

Tui is sealing this place as 4* Platinum hotel. UK yellow bands are not equal Tui Grrmany Blue bands From UK at beach bar you must pay for drinks and beds but Germany blue bands do not need to pay! All inclusive is different if you fly from UK In all 3 bars there is none of International drinks for All Inclusive. If you want Stella beer can you must pay! No Peroni or Corona either. Everyone taste is different but for 4 of us, 4 adults local beer was a no no. Dirty place around pools; floors, sunbeds or tables was not clean in last 3 weeks. Broken sun beds left between other beds as nobody remove them. Pools was clean 2x at early hours from 16th June 2026 until today 5th July 2026 so nearly 3weeks! Life guard is collecting used cups and dirty plates all day long! No pool safety supervision - when we approch her, her answer was kids need to be supervise by parents not her. So what if someone will have a heart sttack in the water, she said that she is not a doctor and she just do what must be done = cleaning lol Cold food at snack bars as they bring pizza, chicken nuggets and fish fingers at 9am for opening at 10am. Therw is no heating or cooking fresh food facilities at snack bars. On daily basis drink distributors cold or hot are with # out of order signs. Drink spillages are just mopped by dry mop leaving sticky marks all day everywhere, no wet floor signs either. Housekeeping staff are useing shopping trolleys to clean rooms. Restaurants nappking tables are looking very tired and dirty. Hellios bar dirty chairs from birds stuff, sticky tables that you must clean yourself! Bad tired place Staff told us that this hotel is 3* not 4* Platinum advertise by Tui, as there is self service if you want drinks or food durring the day plus there is no entertaiment or even music all day. Zumba classes for 30min per day at each pool thats all. Lots of hill to claim to restaurants as 2 buggies are not always free to take you up. Possitive experiance in upstairs Savas bar place where evening entertaiment was the best. Staff there are amazing!! In breakfast area at Hillios place staff are Very rude only Chris is happy and Very helpfull there. Other staff do not even want to bring you fresh forks or knifes the answer we had few times was "not my job and not my section!" Thallasa restaurant 100% better than Hillios one! Repetetive food every day everywhere. If you want to have a lamb for dinner be in 1.5hr of oppening time as they do not restock food if is gone :) not lamb or british bacon lol Overal all beautiful views and nice weather! Insted of taking trips out from TUI rent a car and buy a map from Hotel shop you will see more and save a fortune. Greece is beautiful explor all yourself!
