Lindos Royal

Amazing hotel! This was our second time can see some great changes even from last year. Kids love it. Food is great. Beach and pools are brilliant. ALL the staff are amazing especially the manager Valasia who really made our holiday.

Where to begin? We (2 adults, a 14yo and a 10yo) arrived at 2am at this hotel for a week long stay and were given the wrong room. We'd ordered the superior room, but we're given the most basic one overlooking the carpark. We did manage to switch the next day after insisting on speaking to the manager. The new room was adequate, but the AC was temperamental and needed looking at by the engineer on 3 occasions. The 'minibar' contains a 500ml bottle of water for each occupant (no other drinks). These are not replaced. You are expected to refill your own bottles daily at the pool bar. If you forget to, reception will not give you a new bottle. It is €10 deposit for each pool towel you require and €25 for a safe hire. With the hotel (unbelievably) being 5* you have to pay the full Tourist Tax. There are 3 bars, the 2 pool bars are within 20m of each other and constantly have a queue. All drinks are served in small, well used plastic cups (you are sometimes limited to requesting only 2 drinks, depending on the size of the queue). The drinks themselves aren't great, i never had the same tasing cocktail twice. The lower bar has a constant smell of sewage, it is also the main bar for the nighttime entertainment. Seating is limited, so most families have to make do with sitting on the sun loungers. The entertainment itself was ok, but they clearly aren't paid well by the hotel and practically beg for a tip once the show has finished. The lobby bar is very spacious and includes sofas and a large terrace. However, this bar is not All inc and will cost you €7 for a beer and €12 for a cocktail. It is always empty, but at least you get your drink in a glass. There is an amphitheatre which hosts a kids show for an hour, but there is no bar or toilet near, it seemed a pointless structure. There is also an arcade for the kids, if you constantly like putting your hand in your pocket for loose change. And that's it as far as evening entertainment goes for the kids - no park and no area for them to kick a ball around. Most children are just sat around looking at ipads, which is not good to see. The hotel has a pebble beach which is quite a walk to get to, with no free bar or free toilet facilities. There is also a sudden drop when walking into the sea, so not advisable for non-swimmers. The food-hall is chaotic, with lots of queue jumpers. There is always a queue for drinks, meaning your food can be cold on returns. However, the food is good, it's plentiful and tasty. The same goes for the themed restaurant, but unfortunately again the drinks here are not all inc (priced the same as the lobby bar). We did venture out a fer days as the hotel pool bar is repetitive. Reception are happy to call you a taxi - as we found out that the driver pays the hotel €5 for each journey (this is obviously added to your journey charge). Lindos town is worth a walk around and the sandy beach 20min north is worth a look. So overall, this hotel is a dated 3* hotel with very few amenities. Avoid.

We just came back from lindos royal my first impression was very good until we found our room as a long way two flights of stairs in amongst it we went to the reception explained i was waiting on a list for a new knee.quite frankly this was passed on to the reception manager who did not have the manners to come out and speak to us just sent us to see another room which was poor small furnuture falling apart can not imagine anyone would want to stay in that ,windows cracked the decor was quite frankly poor we decided we would struggle on but it was not easy .but the rest food variety was good , staff except for reception brilliant especially cindy in the calypso bar the grounds in places need a lot of work hand rails would be a great help .on the whole we just got on with it would i go here again no the hotel was far from full , the customer service in regards to trying to help someone that needed a change of rooms was poor in fact there was no care to someone that needed to be near a lift also our family with two children reported the air con was not working it was like being in a sauna

I feel like I needed to write a review for this hotel. When I booked this hotel, I didnt read the reviews until after...if I had read them before I probably wouldn't of booked it. We had a family room, yes it was very basic and a little dated but it was clean, we use this as a base and to sleep in so didnt expect much else. We did have air conditioning issues the 2nd day but they soon fixed it...it was leaking. The all-inclusive food was good, as youd expect, plenty of choice looked and tasted fresh. The grill section cooking fresh food so nothing sat around for long and staff were always replenishing. I personally liked the bar in the restaurant instead of helping yourself to drinks... this way people couldn't push in and actually queued. Im British and we love a que. It makes sense really and its polite. Pool snack bar also cooking constantly.. the Gyros was really nice, as was the hot dogs and burgers. Bar staff at the pool bar were friendly. Al a carte food was fab... All inclusive drinks are standard again what youd expect. We stayed mainly at the pool, by the pool bar There was a smell by the other pool but it came and went. Ive experienced this on my last 2 holidays in Crete. It is what it is. The staff all were friendly and worked so hard. Yes there's elements of the hotel a little tired in places but it was still well kept grounds and nice views. Don't be put off, but dont have 5 star expectations in that sense. I never book 5 star im usually 4 star..so was suprised its 5 stars.

After reading the reviews on this place I was concerned about coming here. I stayed for a week with my girlfriend and unfortunately I was quite disappointed with my stay. We were greeted at 3am to a room that was worn down and not very nice. Broken/cracked glass in the bathroom window, no shower door on our shower and we didn’t have a wet room so whenever showering water went all over the floor absolutely soaking the place making it slippy. We went down to reception four days in a row asking for a shower door or even a curtain and spoke to different members of staff who all took our room number and said they would pass onto housekeeping but after our week stay we didn’t ever receive anything. The air conditioning was also very poor, it was running but it would take hours for our room to eventually cool down making it hard to get to sleep at night. The pools were average and we spent most time next to the adult pool which had tiles lying on the bottom and was just not very clean. There were 3 bars, one being the pool bar, one inside just next to the pool and the calypso bar next to reception which was lovely and much more modern but this wasn’t included in the all inclusive for whatever reason. The one inside had this foul strong smell so we avoided that one and stuck to the pool bar and received watered down drinks in plastic cups. The entertainment was okay. Credit where it is due, the food was lovely and so were the staff, the 3 restaurants were delicious and so was the buffet with plenty of selection. The private beach was also quite nice but there was a pipe leading from the back of the hotel that was initially dripping but it started spewing out this dirty brown and green water right into the sea where we were swimming. I did not ask what it was as I thought it may be better not knowing. However, later that day I was greeted by sewage floating in the sea right next to the beach which totally put me off going back in. Lindos was lovely and would recommend going there as the reception staff sort a taxi for you. Overall I was disappointed with my stay as I felt I didn’t get my moneys worth as the all inclusive wasn’t even fully all inclusive. It has a nice base but would need some proper work done to class it as 5*. We made the most of our stay but feel we were not provided with the 5 star service the hotel is labelled with.
