Oceanis Park

Arrived very late got checked into our room very quickly thanks to the nice guy that brought our cases. Very dry sandwiches left in our fridge as we arrived late, no water was left .we had a swim up room so paid extra for this which we found out it wasn’t worth it as the sun is on our swim up room till 12 midday .The room wasn’t cleaned very well all week and I had to go to reception and ask for my bed to be changed.The food was ok lovely variety in the evenings but the breakfast wasn’t the greatest .very busy too so felt people were pushing a shoving in the restaurant which was so off putting.The entertainment staff were amazing especially Alicija & Rio they were fantastic could not fault them.pizza was delicious from the pizza man,drinks ok.Top tip DONT BOOK A SWIM UP ROOM it doesn’t get much sun .

Well I must say this hotel was great, all of the staff were very nice plus very helpful if you needed anything. The room we were in was lovely and clean with a balcony overlooking the pool area. I would like to thank angela on reception she always had a smile I didn't get the name of the others but they were all great. I would also like to thank all of the staff in the restaurant they all worked so hard and were all very polite. A big shout out to Anita the restaurant manager she was such a lovely person and was there from the start of service until the evening. Always smiling and very helpful she was wonderful. The food was absolutely amazing everything was cooked to perfection and such a variety of different things to eat. Anita always guided us to try different greek foods which by the way was beautiful. Finally we would like to say a big thank you to Niko the hotel manager who was always around if you needed him. Would we return to this hotel most definitely

Upon check-in, we were informed that there was a problem with our reserved room and that we would need to stay in another room for the first night before moving the next day. Unfortunately, the temporary room was very poor and far from luxurious. The bathroom had visible mould, and there wasn’t even a basic bar of soap provided. The “patio” was barely a metre wide and enclosed by a high wall, offering no view or atmosphere. The following day, the staff told us we had been upgraded to a sea view room as an apology. The view truly was stunning, and the room was an improvement over the first, but still disappointing overall. There was only a wall-mounted soap dispenser and a small, awkward hairdryer in the bathroom. For a 4-star hotel, we expected better amenities. The room’s floor was dusty around the edges and remained that way for our entire stay. I probably should have brought it up at reception but I just felt numbed by having spent so much money and being disappointed. I will say the bed was comfortable enough and the cleaning staff did change the bed every day and gave us fresh towels. The wardrobe had plenty of room, but not enough hangers. There was a safe provided, which was appreciated so we could store our passports etc. There was a fridge provided, but it didn’t get very cold. The hotel facilities were overall underwhelming. Much of the furniture was plastic, and the sofas in the lobby and lounge area were stained and worn. It was almost impossible to get a sun lounger around the main pool after about 8:30am, but we were able to get one around the pool at the front. There was sun until around lunchtime, which suited us. The food was mediocre. At breakfast one morning, I opened a packet of butter that smelled rancid, something I’ve never experienced before. Again, perhaps I should have raised it but it made me feel nauseous and I just wanted to throw it away and it put me off the buffet for a while. Vegetarian options were very limited outside of the buffet restaurant (and not marked well in the buffet unless vegan), especially at the “snack bars,” which were open only for short periods, and there were no vegetarian (e.g Halloumi) gyros available at all. We ended up eating outside the hotel on a number of occasions. The drinks offered as part of the all inclusive were good. The location of the hotel is good. Around 15 minutes from Rhodes Old Town. The reception staff also provided leaflets for various excursions and tours to places like Lindos and Symi. You can request a packed lunch for excursions but we did not do this. There is one small lift in the main building that only 3 people max can use at the same time. It broke down at one point but was fixed quickly. On a positive note, every staff member we interacted with was really friendly and helpful. However, despite their kindness, the overall experience did not meet our expectations, and we would not choose to return.

This was our first visit to Oceanis Park, we stayed in a family room, overlooking the front pool. The room was spacious with a large bathroom with walk in rainwater shower. The room was clean and maintained daily with fresh towels, beds made and bins emptied. We arrived around midnight and in our fridge were sandwiches, bananas and cake. The hotel is quite compact and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel overall was very clean with the maids working endlessly, cleaning the rooms and communal hallways. There are three pools, the main pool with a small children’s pool, the quiet pool at the front of the hotel and an infinity pool near the main pool. There is also a private pool for those staying in the swim up rooms. The main restaurant had a good variety of food, with pasta, salad, chips and pizzas as nightly staples and then each night had a theme with the food relating to the theme. The Chinese, Italian and Greek night were particularly good. The desserts were great and you can help yourself to the little ice cream pots in the freezers, which were also in the snack bars. Anita the manager was always there with a warm welcome. The Blue Bar served fresh pizzas, salad and cake from 10am until 530pm. The Greek Grill served gyros, chips and skewers from 12pm till 5pm, both were a hit with my family. The entertainment staff were friendly but not pushy and the nightly entertainment ended around 10pm so then became much quieter and easy to relax. Even being the end of the season, there were no free chairs each evening. The pools weren’t too busy and there were free sun beds, just not in the best spots. We were able to check out later for a small cost and this was easy to arrange. The only downside for us was the amount of smoking, with people smoking on the sunbeds right next to you and on the balcony so any swimwear or towels drying would smell of smoke. Not that this was the hotels fault. There are some lovely restaurants and shops outside the hotel and we recommend the transfer to Rhodes town advertised in the reception for €8 return.

This was our fourth time staying at Oceanis Park and, as always, we had an incredible time. The hotel is clean and well maintained with a fantastic and welcoming atmosphere. Thanks to the wonderful staff and our friends: Ixan, Tsampikos, Nestoras, Anita, Namik, Asim, Freddy, Vasilis, Aggelos, and of course the manager Nikos. They’re all lovely people who work incredibly hard all season. Thank you for another great holiday, and see you next year!
