Rhodos Horizon Resort

Me and my friend had the most amazing time at the Rhodos Horizon Resort and honestly, the staff made that experience! The hotel itself is lovely, clean and modern with the most beautiful views from sunrise to sunset. Valia made sure our check in went smoothly, providing drinks on arrival and providing food as we arrived late, and our bags were taken to our room. She was lovely and super helpful throughout our stay. 🩵 The location was perfect, right on the beachfront, 15 minute walk to the old town and 5 mins to the town and bar street. The hotel was more chilled vibes/good for couples, but the entertainment was brilliant for everyone. We made friends from all over and all ages, and with the fabulous entertainment girlies 🩵 The food was fab, with a huge selection each day and themed nights throughout the week. The desserts were insane. But the lovelies waitresses made each meal all the better - Dora, Rina & Irini - thank you 🩵 The pools were great and plenty of cocktail choices to go with. The bar men were all friendly and helpful. Shout out to Mike. Thanks to all the staff! Would definitely recommend this hotel and can’t wait to return 🩵

Having read a number of reviews before arriving, I really feel like the people writing them have been to a different hotel to the one that we went to. The hotel is at the intersection of 2 busy roads so you do get road noise day and night. It's not too bad if you're in the room but if you're a light sleeper I would definitely look elsewhere. The Location is very convenient for walking to either the Old or New Town. Food - The cold selection was fine. The 'hot' selection however was small, generally lukewarm (at best), very repetitive. Anything that was a meat with vegetables type dish had a very small amount of meat so that if you didn't catch the dish coming out you would just get the vegetables. Presumably because they had 3 hotels worth of people in a dining room designed for 1, the layout didn't really work it was awkward to get around. 'A la carte' restaurant is definitely an improvement but I would recommend that you enquire about a booking immediately on arrival. We left it until 16 hours after we arrived and couldn't get a booking until our second last night. Drinks - Selection was decent, cocktails were a bit hit and miss depending on who was making them. Self-service wine was nice, but unfortunately there seemed to be a lot of machines around the place that were either broken or not turned on and nothing to indicate this. The self-service beer ran out regularly in the Belvedere bar and it was sometimes difficult to find a staff member to help as they are all on the other side. Room - We were in the Belvedere building, in the most basic room type offered. Found the room to be a perfectly good size, there were a few maintenance issues in the bathroom, but otherwise it was fine. Yes, there are no drawers but I found the cupboard space to be more than enough. Chairs on the balcony weren't super comfortable but okay for short periods. Given the hotel's vigorous enforcement of the rule about not hanging beach towels from the balcony it would have been nice if they gave you an airer or something to hang your wet things from. There was only a bedside table one 1 side of the bed, would have been nice to have somewhere on the other side to put glass of water, phone, etc. We did have a lot of trouble getting the keycard to work which I have never experienced before, not sure if it was just our room or a more widespread issue. Service - The one point that I will agree with the other reviewers on. Staff without fail were friendly, conscientious and helpful. In the Belvedere bar George was lovely and Janika was an absolute superstar Facilities - Fairly limited outside seating and sunbeds in the hotel were typically all gone by 9am (despite the pool not opening until 10 and signs advising that they could not be reserved before 10am. Sunbeds did always seem to be available on the beach, accessed by a handy tunnel beneath the busy road. Each building has just a couple of very small lifts (holding 2 people only). Thankfully we were on the second floor so didn't have to use them, frequent queues. In the second building, the lifts are in the middle of the restaurant, not very convenient for diners or people trying to use them. Wifi very patchy and frequently dropped out. Overall, even though it was quite cheap and the staff were wonderful I certainly wouldn't go again, it's worth paying a bit more for somewhere better and certainly wasn't 4 star standard.

The Belvedere bar is great, Ermioni, Costa and Janinika are so good in their work and so friendly. They make cocktails sooo good . Ik love them so. The Belvedere Bar is them.

First i have to say that the staff in most of the hotel are excellent , we came late ( midnight ) and there was some small snacks because we missed the restaurant and we were offered a glass of champagne After the check in they brought our suitcase to the room and it was quite fast we can say regardless the fact that there were a lot of people to check in so that was a plus and as i said all the stuff were friendly , food was okay , drinks were okay and room was fine entertainment was average in our opinion it could be better , only one member was talking english and the entertainments was 50-50 , but overall the hotel was really good

Visited as a couple in our 30s in early May - overall we had a great stay! General info: The tourist tax is 10 euros per room per night, payable on check in - either cash or card accepted. Almost everywhere takes card or cash, so cash is not really essential except if you want to leave tips etc. We had a standard room in the main building which overlooked one of the small pools. The room was a good size, with a well functioning mini fridge stocked with (free of charge) a beer, a few soft drinks, water and a pack of fruit and nuts. The fridge is restocked every few days, but there are fridges in the restaurant for free bottled water, as well as self serve soft drinks, beer and wine. There was air conditioning which worked well, and a safe to use free of charge. There is a hair dryer in the bathroom, as well as bottles of shampoo/soap. In the second building is a gym with a small sauna (we didn't use either.) If you want to use spa facilities, these are in the neighbouring Rhodos Horizon Blu hotel (which I have read that a number of guests are being placed in, and it is becoming known as the third building of the resort.) You have to pay for the spa and we didn't use the facilities. There is a small shop selling souvenirs and essentials (also a slightly larger shop over the road at the Blu.) What we enjoyed: The hotel is in a great location for the shops and attractions - in around 10 minutes you are in the old town area. The most direct route at the back of the hotel doesn't have proper pavements, so care is needed. Alternatively, you can walk along the coast. The staff at the hotel were all friendly and polite and we had no issues at all. There was a reasonable selection of food, typical of all inclusive resorts. Typically it was of decent quality. I particularly enjoyed the local Rhodian section, and the salad, tzatziki, and greek yoghurt, The hotel was very clean and well kept. It has 3 pools, but it was a little too cold for us to use these in early May. We enjoyed being able to help ourselves to soft drinks. They branded drinks such as coke/fanta in the machines. I had a few cocktails and they were nice too. Negatives: This hotel is on the windy coast. Unfortunately we arrived during a particularly windy phase, and therefore sunbathing (or sitting outside) was off the cards for most of the trip. I know the weather can't be helped, but I'd prefer to stay in a hotel in a more sheltered location, such as the East side of the island in future. We did notice some ants/insects on the nozzle of the self self coke machines a couple of times which put us off. They were definitely attracted to the sugary drinks. The entertainment was not fantastic, and definitely catering to an older audience. The worst was you had to arrive a good 30 minutes in advance to secure a seat, and due to large columns in the bar area, you couldn't see in most areas. They had the acts displayed on a TV screen for others to see, but it's just really not an ideal set up. The volume of the singing acts was low, so further back we struggled to hear. On the flip side, as we were on a room on the ground floor, just off reception and the main bar, it was quite noisy in the room. Thankfully, with the all inclusive ending at 11pm, the noise did not continue late into the night. Sadly we missed the Greek night on the Fridays just before and after our arrival, and I would have looked forward to this. The food, although adequate was very samey each day. There was a seafood themed night (not really my thing) and a Chinese theme (wasn't great.) I prefer to eat mostly vegetarian, and found the selection very limited. The desserts were nice, but again, almost the same every lunch and dinner. We ate lunch out most days and the quality outside the hotel was definitely better than inside. Food was generally not very hot. The snacks available outside the main meal times were disappointing - cold pizza, chicken nuggets etc. My husband tried the ice cream and said this wasn't very enjoyable. Overall, we did love the service and the closeness to the town, but I'd choose a different hotel next time, as this one is definitely targeted at the older guest and lacked much of an atmosphere (and those crazy strong winds!) Top tip - the hotel is next to a large hill (Monte Smith) - it's a half hour uphill walk to the viewpoint. Go at sunset and it's absolutely stunning. Up there is also some ruins - the Rhodes acropolis. There is some construction work, but access is open at no cost currently, so worth a visit if you're up there.
