Venezia Resort

We booked this hotel as it stated disability friendly and for the most part it was. When we arrived we found a small step into reception but this was quickly remedied by a make shift ramp which stayed there all week. All around the hotel there are decent sized ramps offering access to most areas. there is a lift down to the cosmopolitan bar but it is very small and needed a lot of manoeuvring to use it, my husband uses a standard size electric wheelchair. Its location is great, easy to use the shuttle or like us, order a taxi which arrives in 5 minutes. Approx 10 euros into Faliraki, 25 euros to Rhodes Old Town. Being up on a hill you have a lovely view over the area. It was a lovely mix of relaxing and fun, lots to keep little ones entertained, different areas and swimming pools cater for all. A very friendly atmosphere, all staff were very friendly and helpful. The animation team were a lot of fun and Maria in the Cosmopolitan bar was amazing, such a lovely lady who seemed to work very hard at all times, keeping up with the all inclusive orders. George in the Venus restaurant was always very helpful too. Our room, 410, was spacious, clean and perfectly fine for access, ground floor, large terrace. Personally the only thing missing was a rack to be able to dry wet swim suits and towels. We didn't find noise a problem from the bars but we did have an electric generator nearby which was very noisy a couple of times we were there. Food was excellent, a large selection was available for all meal times, constantly being replenished. Various drink machines, microwave, toasting machine, sandwich toaster etc.. Large area so not crowded, seating in various areas overlooking Faliraki (no disability access to open area at the front). Our only major disappointment was no access to the adult only Marrakesh pool from inside the resort. The only way to access the building is going up the road (pavements are narrow with streetlamps in the middle of the path) and in through the front entrance, once there you can use the ramp into the bar and restaurant but no further. There are huge steps down to the pool and sunbeds so this was not reachable. Only beer and wine from the all inclusive drinks selection is available here which wasn't great either. A word of warning though about the tiles around the main pool, Cosmopolitan bar, the tiles are treacherous, we saw many people slipping up. There are black mats up at the other pool around the snack and burger bar etc and these need to be put in place at the main pool by the toilets, pool steps and walkways. We did have a good stay and would love to go back.

Positives:- - the Marrakesh area was lovely and very relaxing, a little frustrating that you could only get wine and beer though and soft drinks, everything else you have to pay for which seems strange to me considering we went all inclusive. - entertainment staff were good fun and always getting everyone involved! - the rooms were modern and had a lovely view (only issue was the shower). - the pool area was good and didn’t have to rush to get a sunbed. - cocktails were really nice, especially tequila sunrise - room was cleaned everyday to a great quality and fresh towels everyday. Couldn’t fault the cleaners at all! - staff in the restaurant always welcoming and bring over water. Negatives:- - food wasn’t great and there’s a lot of fish, don’t get me wrong, some things were nice but majority of the time I was eating plain pasta so I would try to make the most of the snack bars during the day as the souvlaki was nice (although I had this without meat). The staff behind the snack bar just seemed to be unhappy most of the time. - we were in block 4 and no issues apart from the shower and the fact that the floor got drenched, and there was no shower curtain or anything to ensure water didn’t go everywhere, it was more like a wet room. - the pool was absolutely freezing! This may have been because we went out of season though. - queuing for drinks at the cosmopolitan bar was annoying but is to be expected of an evening. - we went to the DC Club on the Friday as you can buy tickets through the entertainment staff but were told that we would get a welcome drink included. Never received a welcome drink , unless you paid upon entry. - the shop on site is very expensive. - quite a walk down to the strip so bear this in mind when coming here with children. However the hotel does offer a bus I believe 3x a day to take you to the beach and bring you back up which is free. Hotel is located at the top of a steep hill.

Despite a few negatives which I will address holiday went well. Negative 1. Breakfast cold a few mornings but there is a microwave. Negative 2. Marakesh dining experience was shambolic. Put into a corner table and virtually ignored, service appaling.wrong food sent out to us. I assume because very large paying party were in. We complained to manager but were ignored. Negative 3. Room 306. Shower a disaster as there was no curtain and floor got flooded. With me being disabled it was an issue. Now positives. Everything apart from above was fantastic. Cleanliness, staff. Food, drink, swimming pools ,snack bar, view from room,Reception staff were spot on. Now reason I tolerated our shower issue was that the room allocated was directly in centre of everything which I appreciated. Great wee 24 hour shop and not to expensive. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would go back. Bus down to faliraki centre was great. Look at times on board at reception as times on flyer are incorrect. The young man serving us in Greek taverna in hotel was a credit to hotel same as waiting staff in dining area

Beautiful hotel, very friendly and helpful staff, especially Maria at the Cosmopolitan bar, she was fantastic at helping us arrange days out. Wonderful lady! Food was fantastic, the view from the restaurant was superb. Spacious room, great shower, cleaned daily with great efficiency. Highly recommend.

Lovely hotel, really enjoyed our stay! The entertainment team were fantastic, especially Pedro and Rio who made everything so fun and welcoming!
