Atlantica Eleon Grand Resort

We have just came back from our first visit at Atlantica (not our first visit to Zakynthos) as a family of 10 and I cannot fault this place on anything. Despite it being the summer holidays it didn’t feel crowded or loud, it felt very calm and chilled. The views of the infinity pool were incredible. The food variety was amazing, there was something for everyone with different themes every night, different entertainment each night from singers to acrobats to saxophonists to bingo. The staff were all so welcoming and friendly- the service around the sun loungers was such a brilliant idea! The fresh watermelon being served to sun loungers. The rooms were lovely and spacious and cleaned every single day! Fresh towels/fresh bedding and a new bottle of water each day. The spa was amazing- the full body massage was one of the best I’ve had. The free 10 minute introductory head massage upon arrival was very well received. From start to end this hotel was amazing. We left to head home and received a call once we were at the airport to say that unfortunately my son had left his tablet in the hotel room which was very gutting as he uses it quite a lot, I was almost prepared to buy a new one however Atlantica kindly offered to send this to our home address free of charge! It’s incredible the lengths they have gone to this holiday. We will definitely be returning and would absolutely recommend to all. Thank you Atlantica!

We had an enjoyable holiday, the views are amazing, the food is above average, drinks are good, staff work hard and are friendly. But we found issues here especially with our room and some other areas. Pro’s - Generally the hotel is maintained well, the grounds are nicely looked after and tidy. The bars and restaurants are clean and offer decent drinks (good lager, cocktails). The snacks at the snack bar are good (hotdogs, burger, chips and healthy options like salad). The main buffet restaurant serves what I would describe as above average food for all inclusive, many different options of meat, fish, poultry as well as vegetarian and vegan food. It was all of high standards and tastes lovely. The cleaners work extremely hard and do a great job our room was always clean and tidy 10/10. The general facilities are good, the pools are clean and well maintained, the waterslides are fun and the activities for kids are engaging. The views are spectacular, the sea is super clear and full of beautiful fish (bring a mask and snorkel). The bar and restaurants staff work super hard and are so helpful and friendly they should be commended! Bar staff come round the sunbeds around the pools and sea to take drink orders which was a lovely touch. Con’s - When we first arrived we had requested our two room to be close to each other, this did not happen and our rooms couldn’t have been any further apart (6 min walk away) we understand there are different room types that may not be in same areas of hotel, reception staff said they would see what they could do but we never heard back from them. Perhaps the reason we didn’t hear from them was because the telephone in our room didn’t work. The safe in the room had no instructions and was locked shut, the television had no remote control. We noticed the ceiling was full of holes around the curtain where they had re drilled it again and again but never bothered to fill the holes! The mirror and taps in the room were wonky (like you get in a circus fun house) and while these were functional we expected better from a hotel that calls itself 5 star! All the issue were reported, the telephone was never fixed for the whole 14 nights (we wanted this because we needed to communicate with my sister in law in other room which was 6 mins walk away, also we needed to contact reception multiple times and them us over the 2 weeks stay because of more issues. Lastly had there been an emergency “like wild fires etc” reception couldn’t have contacted us!). After reporting the safe issue a maintenance guy was sent, he opened the safe and showed me how to set it. I did ask why there weren’t instructions on how to set it to which he shrugged. The next day I tried to open the safe as we wanted to go out of hotel and needed some money…the safe wouldn’t open and seemed to have lost all power. I had to walk to reception (as I couldn’t phone) I told them about the safe and they said they would send maintenance and he would be 20/30 mins. We waited an hour he didn’t show up, so we changed our plans and headed to the beach, on the way telling reception that we could wait any longer and we would be back later for the maintenance guy. Later in the afternoon on the way back to the room I told reception I would be there for a bit and could they send maintenance to fix safe so we could gain access to our money etc, they said again he will be 20/30 mins. 2hrs later he had still not arrived! As I couldn’t phone reception I walked again and they told me ‘oh sorry there was a problem contacting the maintenance team and we couldn’t let you know because your phone is broken! He will come now, 20 mins later he did arrive. He checked the safe and the reason it stopped working was because the sticky tape holding the battery compartment together had come unstuck and the batteries had fallen out! He just pushed the tape back! He checked the phone again and said there is a problem between this room and telephone system. But this was never fixed. On the third day in the evening 6pm we found we didn’t have hot water for a shower? We had cold showers and in the way to dinner mentioned this issue to reception staff, they said they would send maintenance guy. He arrived the next day and basically said that because more guests had arrived at the hotel all the hot water was being used up, he said he would turn up the heat but this did little to help. The next evening we had enough lukewarm water for one of our kids to have a shower but then it was cold showers for everyone else. This continued for the rest of the holiday even after reporting multiple times to staff and tui rep. Wardrobe space was not big enough for 4 people, we only had 12 hangers so 2.5 hangers per person. There was nowhere to store suitcases so they just lined the walls where there was any space but these were constantly being tripped over etc The bathroom in the superior double room had a large frosted window which is impractical as every time someone turns the light on the bedroom is flooded with light, this is not ideal at 2am. The walls/ceiling are thin so depending on who you have staying above you, you will likely hear clip clop of shoes, banging of furniture and loud talking etc which is not great at 1am. For 4 night ms it sounded like we had a baby elephant stomping around above us. The furniture at the Olivia bar / entertainment area is knackered and needs replacing! They have tried to cover this up with fabric covers but it all just looks tired. While the food was of good quality in the restaurant I have to say there was little choice for children In the evening, plain pasta, bread, chips and sometimes mystery meats? In our experience most all inclusives have foods which most children will eat every evening like pizza, chicken nuggets etc but this was lacking here, lucky our kids would fill up at the snack bar at lunchtime so would just have a bit of bread and butter in the evening. The evening entertainment was poor, the lobby bar had guest entertainment e.g a singer with a keyboard or someone playing a saxophone. Which was fine but there isn’t enough seating in that area. The main stage entertainment was provided solely by the entertainment team who had been working all day entertaining the children and adults by the pool, then they would be expected to put on a show at 21:30. Which I feel bad saying was very amateur quality, we all got very bored of it. There was only one evening of note which was three opera singers who were professionally trained. The gym was very tired looking, broken pads on equipment, dumbells missing most useful weights, they had 1kg, 5kg, 6kg, 7kg, 12kg and 15kg. I expected better in 5 star. The spa was nice, staff were very good we had a nice massage if a little expensive! Indoor spa pool always empty as it incurred a €20 charge. All in all would we stay here again…well I think the answer has to be no at the moment. If the entertainment was improved and we were booked into a room without all the issues (mirror and taps straight, no holes in ceiling, telephone working, hot water for showers, working safe etc ) then perhaps yes. The reason I gave trip advisor my score was not necessarily because of the issues we had but more because they were never fixed despite multiple requests. So in short if your not too bothered by having entertainment and get a decent room (my sister in laws room had no issues) you will have a nice time here. Avoid room 624.

Yet again, an unforgettable holiday at Atlantica Eleon Grande Resort. This is our 6th time staying at this hotel, and it never seems to disappoint us. The many upgrades that have taken place over the years, including the refurbished rooms, the lovely bar furniture, and the new poolside bar, have made this hotel even more enjoyable. I would like to thank all the staff who work endlessly hard to keep you happy and always greet you with a smile from the cleaners, maintenance team, waiters and waitresses, to the entertainment staff. They are all such an asset to this wonderful hotel. A special thank you also goes to the General Manager, Apostolos Ioannides, who keeps this hotel running so efficiently. We have loved all our many chats we had with you here and look forward to seeing you again next year. Excellent resort, from location to services. Well balanced between beavh( olive trees orchard with natural shate) to garden bungalows. Easy access to sea-for kids a plus, pools very clean, beach bar well managed. Rooms are spacious enough and clean( 2 times sometimes). Food was amazing! Service was polite and prompt. Single minus was toilet on the beach and pool- only one( cleaned very often). Access to Tsilivi and Zante city- good public transport- 2.5 eur or by taxi 12eur to Tsilivi or 20eur to Zante city.

We ( my wife and 2  teenage boys) for a week at the beginning of July. Our room numbers were 200 and 202, the location of which in the hotel we thought was perfect.   When we arrived We knew we would  be looked after. We were greeted by Maria who checked us in smoothly and most importantly, with a smile.   In fact she and all others at reception, namely Panagiotis, Christos and the rest of the team at reception were always so helpful throughout our stay. There was also Sonja who was a fountain of local knowledge. We found her suggestions on the best places to visit in the evening, invaluable. It was Sonja who suggested we visit the area around the  Venetian Fort at Bohali and we were so glad we went.   The rooms were obviously immaculate and clean as was the rest of the hotel along with the pool. In places like this however, it is the attitude and manner of the staff that can determine customer experience and everyone, from the lady who cleaned our room,  to other staff both inside and outside the main building were absolutely marvellous. Names I recall are Paulina, Aggoplos, ( I hope I spell that correctly) the dining hall manager John ( I can spell that! 😊) along with the wider team were all so  friendly and helpful. All appeared to really enjoy being there and were more than happy to make our stay as memorable as possible which they did.   This also goes for those staff working poolside and by the sea front.   Would I recommended this place to others? In a heartbeat!
