not our usual type of holiday we usually stay on large resorts but the husband and kids wanted to experience greek islands. Entertainment day time - the entertainment team were fantastic ensuring everyone who wanted to be involved felt part of teams. evening entertainment - their was a few quizzes and kareoke with only one evening with external entertainment brought in which is reflective in the price. pools - clean unfortunately at peak not enough sun lounges as people do the early rises to lay around pool all day. Each to their own food - typical food for cooking for large numbers and the price had it been more expensive would expect more. Always something and the staff are very quick at replenishing and taking away plates. Presented well and staff attentive. the snacks consisted of ice creams, sandwiches and few cakes Rooms - i was ill 2 days with a on going medical problem the air con brought great relief. The rooms were clean and plenty of room for a family of 4 in family room area - a 2 mins walk away from shops and restaurants with beach a 5 mins walk. Supermarket within a stone throw away for snacks.

Booked a 5 night stay for myself and my daughter on AI basis and we were given Rm 317 (far end of 2nd floor of Block B overlooking kids pool). It was a family room with double bed and bunk beds, with a good sized bathroom with walk-in shower. Balcony was a good size too, with table, 3 chairs and a drying rack. Hotel is in a great location, very clean with amazing, friendly staff - shout out to Thomas in the central pool bar, who was really welcoming and always served with a smile. Also Marinos in the main bar on an evening, he was amazing and despite being run ragged as always very busy, always served with a smile. There are 3 pools to choose from - kids pool was most accessible of them all, but not great as nothing to hold onto, when getting in/out. I’m used to a gentle slope, or stone steps into pools but none of the pools offered this, which is a shame. Entertainment - daytime activities such as darts, aqua fit etc were always well attended. Evening entertainment wasn’t particularly my cup of tea, but that’s just me - there was karaoke, bingo and a music quiz while we were there, karaoke being my least favourite! Felt sorry for anyone staying in main building overlooking the main bar, as it was loud altho’ it did finish at 11pm, so not too intrusive. Food seems to be the biggest whinge from reviewers on here, but in all honesty, and as an extremely fussy eater, I just don’t get it. There was always something to eat. It wasn’t Michelin standard by any stretch of the imagination, but not sure who would be expecting it to be? There was always plenty of choice and it was well presented. We did eat out a couple of times, but that’s just because we like to mix it up and support local restaurants too. Drink is probably the second biggest whinge from reviewers, and I’ve absolutely no idea why! We mostly drank the carbonated lime drink as it was very refreshing, but had cocktails on an evening. Whilst spirits and soft drinks were unbranded, they most certainly weren’t watered down, as has been suggested. As a side note, alcoholic drinks aren’t available until 11am, I was astounded that someone was asking for alcohol at 10.05am before breakfast had finished, and had to be told no - I mean I know you’re on holiday but, seriously give your liver a break! There was a downside to the hotel tho’ and I’m talking sunbeds! 1. There’s not enough to cover anywhere near room occupancy! Perhaps before the additional blocks were added, but not now. 2. The ones situated around the kids pool are in need of urgent replacement, with the backs collapsing randomly whilst guests are on them! This happened several times a day on random sunbeds. I don’t think anyone escaped the experience, myself included. When you have osteoporosis in your spine and have previous back fractures, this is NOT good at all. 3. The sunbeds around the other pools are mostly rigid plastic and are very uncomfortable - in 57 years of travel, I’ve not come across anything quite like them. They are aesthetically pleasing but in terms of comfort and functionality, it’s a whopping great NO! I’d suggest providing cushions or replacing entirely. *I have discussed this with the very helpful hotel manager Nikos, who is aware of the sunbed situation and is looking at what can be done. I understand that he is taking all feedback onboard and is trying to make improvements wherever possible. Having a late flight and checkout being 11am, we asked to keep our room on. Unfortunately it was already booked, but we were allowed to pay €50 for a late checkout room and were given Rm 228 in main building overlooking end of the main pool with the tiniest balcony ever, not such a problem as we only wanted it so we could shower, change and relax before our transfer, but I’d have been pretty unhappy had it been our assigned room at the start of the holiday. This room wasn’t to the same quality as our room in Block B, despite the updated room furniture. The bathroom was tiny and the shower cubicle was old and had a large hard jagged area on the corner, which could have caused a nasty cut. I personally won’t return, but only because I found Tsilivi as a resort, not great from an accessible viewpoint, I have a mobility walker to get about (I’ll be sticking to Cyprus for that) but glad we gave the Karras Grande a go all the same, as we had a really canny time. I’d honestly suggest going with a totally open mind and taking it how you find it!

Had a short break in a family room which was great as you virtually have two rooms. The room was up to date and it looked like the bathroom had recently been refurbished. Staff were great always helpful and smiling. Food was ok, nothing special and a bit samey each day. Downside is the pools closed at 6 pm which to me is way too early in the middle of summer. Sunbeds are very hard as they are of a solid design so can get a bit uncomfortable after a while. Shops and beach all close by but there’s not much beach available as other hotels seem to have claimed most of it!!
