Karras Grande Resort

Nice hotel - family suite was comfortable & the cleaner was fabulous, came every day & left the room lovely. Breakfast is generally good, but for us the lunch & dinner options were satisfactory. We ate only once in the restaurant for dinner & chose to eat out at nearby restaurants. Drinks & snacks options aren’t great. We personally would not go all inclusive again. Facilities are great - we used the small gym a few times, played pool in the lobby area. Pools are shallow but in hindsight they are great for the games that the entertainment team put on daily. Staff are incredible - entertainment team really do include everyone with pool games, darts, yoga etc. Evening entertainment is run by the same team of 3 as during the day - they are so inclusive. The bar tender by the pool cannot go enough for anyone - such a great asset to the team. Location is great. Bus stop outside, car rental nearby, shops, bars & restaurants only a couple of minutes walk. If you’re looking for a fun holiday but not fussed about the food this is the perfect hotel. I think the most important thing to remember is that this is a 3-star hotel. Reading some reviews, I wonder whether expectations are sometimes much higher than that. For a 3-star, we thought it was fantastic. The location is IDEAL! The beach is around a 10-minute walk (easily five without kids 😂) We thoroughly enjoyed a couple of day trips, organised outside the hotel (most of the local shops offer roughly the same excursions at similar prices). The inflatable park was brilliant and well worth the money (5pm–9pm), and there's also a water park just down the road that was a good change of scenery. There are three swimming pools, each with a slightly different atmosphere. The all-inclusive offers a good range of food and drinks. Yes, the food can become a little samey, but there's always plenty available and it's nicely presented. The sun loungers are sturdy and, yes, not the most comfortable. However, in temperatures like these, I can completely understand why they've invested in durable loungers that can withstand the intense heat. But what really makes this hotel is the staff. From reception and the restaurant to the bar staff, cleaners and entertainment team, everyone plays their part in creating such a friendly atmosphere. For a 3-star hotel, we couldn't have asked for much more. Great value, lovely atmosphere and, most importantly, fantastic people - both fellow holiday makers and staff.

Excellent hotel! The food was delicious, the staff were friendly and attentive, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Everything was absolutely perfect, from the service to the overall atmosphere. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend this hotel!

There's a lot of great things about this hotel. It's fair to say there is also a lot to complain about. The Good: Friendly/hardworking staff, clean rooms, very comfortable bed, great air conditioning, fantastic location, clean swimming pools. Unfortunately there were so many failings that would I wouldn't return to this resort unless these were addressed. The Bad: The sun loungers. There's nowhere near enough. A third of them are broken. The more, modern, looking ones are so uncomfortable that I would love to ask the management to lie on them for 10 minutes and ask how comfortable they are feeling now. It was like lying on a hard-curved table with ripples running through it. The drinks. Pretty much all the reviews mention this. My kids (and us) had to keep going to the shops as it's literally undrinkable. God knows what it is but it isn't coke, orange, lemonade etc, but tastes like something created in a laboratory. What's the point of paying for all inclusive if you have to keep buying drinks from the shop? The cocktails are watered down. Believe my, I tried to get drunk to test my theory, and failed, miserably. Don't even get me started on the salty coffee! The food. Stale, fatty, greasy - yesterday's leftovers. I'm the least fussy eater in the world and read previous reviews thinking it would be fine and I'll just live on Greek Yogurt and salad. Nope. I was actually looking forward to getting home and buying a Greek Yoghurt from Tesco and some fresh salad. If you like cold, stale chips and pasta, or fatty uncooked meat you'll be fine though. The frontage. They have an "al a carte restaurant" out front which looks like something out of the late 1980's Soviet Union and a closed bar on top. There's no explanation of how to book this (not that you'd want to). I never saw anyone in there. I feel bad writing this as they were all lovely, and if they fixed the food and drink I would recommend it but I'm really glad to be home.
