Il Mercante di Venezia

During my stay in Venice, the hotel I liked the most was Hotel Mercante . The reception services were excellent. The lady at the reception called Fabiola we met was extremely professional, friendly, and truly kind-hearted, with outstanding customer service skills. Just back from Italy. We arrived in Venice a couple of days early to ensure we would catch our Mediterannean cruise from Ravenna and stayed at this hotel. Two extra days in Venice is not a "downside" to any trip! The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean. The air conditioner was effective and quiet with everything in the room in good working order. Breakfast was typical European and satisfying. Granted, finding the narrow street this hotel was built on required some extra checking on Google maps, but we found it. Havng stayed in Venice before, we knew the city was walkable and we grealty appreciated the value of staying near the transportation hub. The only downside was that it was not located on the Grand Canal. But that always comes with much higher price point. With that small caveat, I can honestly say that this hotel offers solid value.

Except for official 3 stars ranking, everything else in hotel, organization and staff is for 5 stars ! Smilja & Miroslav Bajic

Me and my daughter stayed here and liked it. The staff were friendly and helpful, the location was very convenient. The room was cosy and clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast croissants with apricot jam in were yummy, nice little courtyard garden. Quite noisy especially early in the morning as we were next to the alleyway, luckily I brought my earplugs for sleep!

The hotel is in close proximity to the train station, short walk without going over a bridge. And it’s 7 minute walk from the bus station but you will need to go over a bridge with stairs (No luggage ramp). If you take the WaterBus from the airport (Alilaguna), get off at the Guglie Station (Line A) and It’s about 7 minute walk from there. You go over a bridge and it has a luggage friendly ramp. The hotel is 2 minute walk from a grocery store. The night shift front desk attendant was very helpful and friendly. And the same for the day shift young attendant. The room was small but very nice, smelled good and fresh. Had cold AC and hot water. Cleaning, bath towels and amenities provided daily.
