Stayed here for 4 nights with my mum, dad and granny. Booked when the reviews were good and was terrified after seeing all of the negative reviews lately. However, our experience was very pleasant! We were welcomed by a lovely receptionist and then given our room keys. My mum and dad were given a room in the newer building which they enjoyed whilst my granny and I stayed in the original building. Ours was definitely a lot more old fashioned, however, despite what the previous reviews say, we loved it more! It is exactly what we expect when we go to Venice - and if you want a modern hotel that's okay but to expect it in the budget of this hotel is a big ask!! Our heaters were stuck on so we did have to sleep with the windows open but it was still quiet as it is located in a quiet area. The only reason for the missing star is the breakfast. It was very basic cold food and then tea, coffee, and juice. We did ask for toast but they said this wasn't possible. Again, for the price we paid and the price of food in Venice this wasn't the worst thing in the world, just mildly disappointing. We would 100% stay here again and would recommend to our friends and family. Edited to add: You are also given 10% off the restaurant opposite. Although it was never told to us, you do need to book this in advance rather than walk in :)

Save your money and go anywhere.. literally anywhere else in Venice. We joked we were sleeping in reception. By the amount of banging and screaming from 6am we may as well have been. Unless you are students on a shoestring, save your hard earned cash, feet & sanity and stay elsewhere Just awful

When we arrived at the hotel we were told there was a problem with our room which needed fixing so we were taken 500 mtres down the road to another hotel. Not a good start ! The attitude of hotel of the guy on the reception desk was polite but not overly apologetic. When we returned in the morning ,we were given a room on the ground floor next to reception which was actually quite shabby - I think this is what is meant by traditional Italian decor ! Breakfast is served until 10,00 am and we were having to rush because we had walked up from the other hotel . The loo in our bathroom ceased to function on the first day. We told the chap on the hotel reception desk when we were on our way out to supper . He went to call someone to fix it . We got back at midnight and it wasn’t fixed so we then spoke to a different guy on the desk who was really nice but he couldn’t fix it . There were rats outside our room which didn’t help sleeping that night along with the leaking loo. It got fixed the next day. Love holidays offered £50 compensation. Not impressed and won’t use them again , nor would we recommend the hotel - no bar, no restaurant, and no kettle in our room so no facilities for making or getting a drink.
