Samsara Cliff Resort

Had a great trip to the Samsara Cliff Resort, booked a sea view room which was great. Yes it’s not your typical all inclusive resort, the meal options were limited however the meals available were good, some traditional Jamaican dishes and great omelettes on a morning. Yes there are areas that could do with a bit of upgrading but, give them chance, they are trying. The staff a great and the drinks are good too. My negatives, bring some ear plugs. There is a venue opposite that plays loud music until the early hours, there are some dogs nearby which seem to start barking around 3:30am and then the cockerel starts at 4:30am. The road is very busy but walkable especially down to Ricks and other local bars. However the noisy cars seem to fly by on a night ! Next door to the famous Ricks is LTU bar, stunning views, amazing cocktails and great staff, give it a try. Give the sister hotel a try, the beach is amazing, if you don’t want to wait for the free bus it’s a $10 taxi ride. I’d say all in all a good stay, I’d come back.

We stayed the last week of February and had the sea view room which was very nice. Had to wait a day and a half with no towels in the room after visiting the reception desk and asking the room attendant twice. The food was mediocre at best. Two days we didn’t even bother going for dinner. The best part of the day was having an omelette made to order. The dining room has no appeal whatsoever and needs a good cleaning and an update. The staff were wonderful and a pleasure to be around. You take your life in your hands walking on the main road. We walked down to PeeWees one night and enjoyed the music and the food, but the walk itself was terrifying. A few people we spoke to simply used this resort as a base and ate all meals out. If that is cost effective for you it would be a good option. I would suggest that you spend more money and find an all inclusive with better food. Also there is a dog nearby that barks ALL night long…someone told me it was the owners residence, but I cannot confirm that. I would NOT recommend this hotel.

This was our second holiday at Samsara. It did not disappoint. We had another fantastic time and will be returning in 2027. Everyone is very friendly, the food was great and drinks plentiful, and being able to use the Legends hotel on 7 mile beach was a bonus. The snorkelling from the cliffs was amazing.

Nice friendly hotel on the West End,from the singing receptionist to the attentive staff this boutique hotel is a good budget option. Shoutout to Tina on bar who always had a smile for guests. Samsara offers a free daily shuttle to the beach at sister hotel legends however it only has a small beach frontage & little space for beds better to walk to a bar offering free sunbeds. Restaurant food for AI guests is basic & drinks are local brands however a good cocktail list is included. Nice infinity pool & plenty of sunbeds to watch the sunset & the catamarans pass onto Ricks & back. Dolphins swim by regularly Best restaurants located close by easy to get there with Uber Stayed in 1005 ground floor fantastic well appointed room

We very much enjoyed our stay at Samsara Cliffs Resort. We chose this hotel in the hope of having a more authentic Jamaican experience and it didn’t disappoint. The staff were lovely and knew most of the guests by name, which gave this small resort a very friendly, open and warm atmosphere. Guests often spoke to each other and shared tips, so it felt like a nice community. My daughter needs gluten free food and when we travel we always worry, but Daniel, the chef, made her feel comfortable. He made sure every evening that two of the evening buffet choices were gluten free and he made sure she was taken care of. She got to enjoy all the homemade Jamaican jerk, stew, curry dishes and loved them all 🥰 Breakfast all had a good selection of gluten free with omelettes, hash browns and bacon being her favorites. The cocktails were strong, but good and Tina was always happy and chatty when making them 🍹 The rooms were basic, but they were clean and most had an uninterrupted sea view. We had live music a couple of evenings in the bar area. I travelled with my mother who struggled with all the steps everywhere that were not clearly visible in some places. In addition access to the sea is down ladders or by jumping in, which with limited mobility meant she could only sea swim by going over to the sister hotel, Legends, to swim at the beach. The hotel also doesn’t have lifts so if you have mobility issues this might not be a good choice. We enjoyed going to 7-mile beach at the sister hotel, Legends, but the loungers area was very cramped on the beach and the shuttle bus wasn’t big enough for everyone to fit in to get there and it only ran once a day. We much preferred the relaxed calm vibe of Samsara. Some of the sun loungers were damaged and these haven’t been removed, but there always seemed to be enough to go around so it never seemed a problem just didn’t look so nice. All bar drinks were served in paper cups that went soggy as you were drinking, but I guess it’s more fish friendly than plastic if the wind sweeps them in to the sea.
