The ambience is really nice and the staff are friendly and courteous.
Beautiful location. Lovely traditional architecture in lobby and restaurant areas, with great greenery and nature in common walking areas to pools and rooms. Superb sandy beach. Effective yet discreet security from intruders and monkeys! Friendly and effective service personnel. Variety and good buffet food. Room was very spacious but with some humidity and not fully smoothly operating shower.
My brother and I stayed at Diamonds Leisure Beach Hotel in February for a friend’s wedding before extending our stay for a few days to enjoy the resort and beach. We booked the all-inclusive package as we planned to spend most of our time at the resort, and it made having food and drinks readily available very convenient. Rooms We initially stayed in a Bustani Garden Room for a few hours as our flight arrived early in the morning. The room was quite dated and could definitely benefit from refurbishment. However, the balcony overlooking the gardens was lovely, peaceful, and a wonderful place to sit and read while watching the monkeys and birds around the resort. It met our basic needs, but we were relieved when we moved into our Bustani Junior Suite, which was much more modern, stylishly decorated, and felt far more spacious and comfortable. As part of the all-inclusive package, we had access to the minibar. Unfortunately, it wasn’t replenished daily, so we found ourselves having to call reception each day for drinks and, similarly, to replace toiletries and bathroom amenities. The beds were also firmer than we would have liked, making it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. One thing worth noting is that the upper-floor rooms are only accessible by stairs, so they may not be suitable for guests with mobility or accessibility requirements. Food & Drinks The catering for the wedding was absolutely outstanding, and it was clear the hotel had really tailored the menu to its guests. Thankfully, the everyday dining was just as impressive. As vegetarians, my brother and I were genuinely delighted by the variety available at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There was an excellent selection of traditional African dishes, Indian cuisine, Western favourites, freshly made pizzas, salads, and much more. We especially appreciated the authentic masala and cardamom tea, which reminded us of home. The pizzas were particularly delicious, although be warned—the resident monkeys are very opportunistic! If security isn’t nearby, they’ll happily try to help themselves to your food. It’s worth being cautious whenever you’re walking around the resort with food, as my brother and I both became targets on more than one occasion! The only slight disappointment with the all-inclusive package was that some items, such as bean-to-cup coffee, incurred an additional charge. Additionally, there could be better/more seating options in the buffet restaurant as it was sometimes hard to find a spot to sit. Pools & Beach The resort has four different swimming pools, each with plenty of loungers and easy access to beach towels and drinks. The pool near the pizza restaurant had the liveliest atmosphere, while we particularly enjoyed the peaceful pool near the Bustani Gardens and beach. Like many beaches along this stretch of coastline, there are local vendors who approach you as soon as you step onto the beach. They can be persistent initially, but if you politely decline or simply ignore them, they usually move on fairly quickly. The beach itself is absolutely stunning. The soft white sand, crystal-clear turquoise water, and beautiful coastline made it one of the nicest beaches we’ve experienced in Africa. One of the highlights of our stay was taking the complimentary hotel kayaks out with one of the guides to explore the nearby coral and marine life. It was an unforgettable experience and one we’d highly recommend. What We Loved * Complimentary resort caddies made it easy to get around the large property, which is especially helpful for guests with limited mobility. * Fantastic variety of food and drinks, with excellent vegetarian options. * Plenty of places to relax, whether by the pools or on the beach. * The warmth and friendliness of the staff genuinely stood out—they always went above and beyond with a smile. Special Mentions A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful staff who made our stay so memorable. Reception: Nuru, Philomena and especially Esther, who went above and beyond when my brother sprained his foot. She accompanied us to the hospital, helped us throughout the process, and even allowed us to call home. We will never forget her kindness. Main Restaurant: Gladys, Rael, Caroline, Boga and Patrick always welcomed us with huge smiles and were incredibly accommodating with any requests. Bar: Rodgers, Colins, Boniface and Anderson were consistently friendly, remembered our usual drinks, and always provided excellent service. Areas for Improvement * Service could be more efficient. On a few occasions, we waited a very long time for relatively simple requests. * Better signage and wayfinding around the resort would help guests navigate more easily, as we noticed several people becoming lost. * It would be a nice touch if irons were provided in the rooms rather than only being available as a paid service. Overall Despite a few areas that could be improved, we really enjoyed our stay. The lovely staff, fantastic food, beautiful grounds, and incredible beach outweighed some of the negatives. We’d happily return, particularly for the stunning beach and food
