Riu Atoll

We returned back to the uk Wednesday night , after 10 nights at Riu Atoll, went to celebrate my birthday. What an amazing holiday, would highly recommend!! Make sure you have camera/phone at the ready as you fly from Male to your island the views of other islands is stunning! From the moment we got on the island it was faultless, drink on arrival, a cold flannel to freshen up, taken by buggie to our villa, decorated on our bed with palm tree leaves and flowers welcoming us to riu atoll. Fantastic choice of food in the main restaurant, never a problem to ask for a freshly cooked egg, pancakes, waffles at breakfast. Food is always being freshly cooked, For quite a fussy eater, I was stuffed at every meal, so much to choose from, I’m now a converted fish eater 😃! Chocolate fountain in the evening is a plus too! We went to the Steakhouse and Sophia’s twice each, lovely food, great choice at Sophia’s for starters and dessert as that’s a buffet. Staff, where do you start!! The whole place is kept spotless Everyone of them greets you with a hello and a big smile 😃 From the man that rakes the sand in the mornings, gardeners are always around clearing up anything that has dropped, cleaners of the toilets that burn incense sticks that smell lovely as you walk in (always someone there) cleaners of your room (same man in our stay, which was lovely as we got to know him) cleaners of the pool area, towel man to the bar staff after the first day knew our names and what we wanted to drink as soon as you arrived to them, the restaurant staff are fantastic so friendly, knew after the first visit where we would prefer to sit, which was the closest to the view of the beach/sea. We would like to do a special mention to Thaney (he asked us to call him Ty) was so attentive, caring, thoughtful and made sure we were ok every time we went into the restaurants, a fantastic man!! The evening entertainment was very good live bands most nights we especially enjoyed White night and Flower Night, where virtually everyone came dressed in white or something with flowers on, lots of dancing. We went to sunset DJ everyday to have a drink or two 😃, to listen to some great music on the beach and watch the sun go down. The views around the island are stunning, yes paradise! walk/swim in the crystal clear sea. Go to reception in the evening to the end of the jetty, where the sea is lite up to see all the fishes including stingrays, rainbow fishes, black tip sharks. The swim up bar is fantastic to sit in the pool with a drink, plenty of sunbeds everywhere around the island.🏝️ A fantastic experience, thank you to all staff for making our holiday a remarkable holiday !!

This resort is truly the best. We came here for our honeymoon and stayed for 10 nights. We were very impressed by the staff’s incredible work ethic — well done to the entire team! From the cleaning staff, waiters, entertainment team, bartenders to management, everyone was extremely helpful, kind, and friendly. They really made our stay pleasant and memorable. The food at all the restaurants was absolutely delicious, with a great variety and excellent quality throughout our stay. The beaches are clean, with beautiful white sand and breathtaking views. We will definitely recommend this resort to everyone and would love to return again in the future.

We visited RIU Atoll with our family for 12 nights and stayed in two beach villas. The beaches, the water, and the nature are absolutely stunning and very well maintained. The rooms were large and spacious, and the housekeeping was excellent every day. It was also a fun touch to receive different towel art creations in our room each day. The food was delicious and well prepared, and we really enjoyed all the themed evenings they organized, such as the White Party, Flower Power, and more. All the staff were absolutely amazing, and the service was top class from beginning to end. It is very rare to truly get to know so many people working at a resort, but here we did not only receive fantastic service – we made new friends. A special thank you to Philippe, Suarez, Jessica, Thanay, Sharu, Regina, Isuru, Sanjay, and Annabell, who made our stay unforgettable with their dedication, warmth, and professional attitude. We have probably forgotten a few names, but thank you to everyone working at RIU Atoll. We also met many new friends during our trip that we will stay in touch with in the future. The only negative thing was that it was not possible to withdraw cash at the resort. We did not bring enough money with us to leave tips. Hats off to everyone – a truly great hotel with amazing staff. We had an absolutely wonderful trip!

I had the best holiday in my life. These days are unforgetable and the Riu staff made us have the best time ever. Highly recommend and I wish to come back soon. Sunshine bar and the staff Isuru, Jessica, Thusan, Guru and Rahman made our trip the best ever. I couldn’t ask for a better holiday.

Absolutely loved our stay at Riu Atoll in the Maldives — a truly memorable experience from start to finish. The hotel itself is lovely, set in a stunning location with great facilities and beautifully maintained surroundings. The rooms were spotlessly clean every single day, and a special thank you goes to our room cleaner for keeping everything immaculate — it really made a difference. What stood out the most, however, was the staff. Every single member of the team was incredibly helpful, attentive, and clearly very well trained. Drinks were topped up without even having to ask, and little details — like a missing spoon — were taken care of instantly without you needing to say a word. That level of service is rare and made the whole stay feel effortless and relaxing. A few staff members truly went above and beyond and deserve special recognition: • Peri at the sports bar • Nico at the sunshine bar • Susy in the themed restaurants • Annabelle in the restaurant • Sanjay running bingo • Damith the saxophone player They were all outstanding and added so much personality and warmth to the experience. Food-wise, there was plenty of choice. The buffet was good and catered well even for picky eaters. We also tried the steakhouse, which was okay, and the Italian restaurant — which we really enjoyed, especially with its buffet starters and desserts paired with a good main course. The entertainment team deserves credit too — they clearly put a lot of effort into everything, and it shows. Evening entertainment was enjoyable, although it’s worth noting there isn’t a separate bar to gather in at night, so most people head to the entertainment area or the 24/7 sports bar, which is a great spot for snacks and coffee. Travel-wise, the airport turnaround was quick and efficient, and we were taken to a comfortable seaplane lounge. The seaplane journey itself was an experience, although we did have to wait around 3 hours, and Mantra Air felt a little sketchy — this part could definitely be improved. Overall, we absolutely loved it here. A beautiful hotel, fantastic service, and an amazing team who make you feel genuinely looked after. Would definitely recommend and happily return.
