The Standard, Huruvalhi Maldives

We had such a lovely stay at this resort honestly 🥹 The island is really small and quiet, which made it feel super peaceful and private the whole time. Exactly what we hoped for when booking the Maldives. The water villas are modern, beautiful and very clean, same with the pool areas. Everything just has a really cool vibe and feels well taken care of without being too “over the top”. The food was sooo good too. There was a lot of variety every day and we genuinely looked forward to dinner every evening lol. We stayed for quite a while and never got bored of the food. Also the staff deserves a huge thank you because everyone was incredibly friendly and sweet all the time. You can really tell they care about the guests and want people to have a good experience. There’s also way more to do than we expected. We played tennis, did watersports and there are some really nice excursions you can book as well. The house reef is beautiful for snorkeling and the resort provides snorkeling equipment which was super convenient. One of our fav moments was seeing eagle rays behind the spa, that was actually insane 😭 But at the same time the island is also perfect if you just want to relax and switch your brain off for a few days. Overall everything worked out perfectly for us and we felt comfortable from day one. We would definitely come back again <3 Really recommend this place if you want a relaxed Maldives trip with beautiful villas, good food and genuinely kind people.

This hotel has got it nailed. Relaxed luxury, paired with pitch-perfect hospitality, provided by a staff who genuinely love what they do. It’s a very warm and welcoming environment where nothing is too much trouble and this makes you feel deeply relaxed and very much at home straight away. The location is stunning, an airy and comfortable retreat away from the world with very high standards throughout. We loved the DJ and the various events throughout the week, giving a great ambiance to different moments of the day, whilst still maintaining the relaxed atmosphere. Poula, our lovely host was always there when we needed him and it was a pleasure having him look after us so kindly. Service across the board was thoughtful, intuitive and personal. As for food and drink, these were reasonably priced and very high quality, in line with the resort as a whole. The staff should be extremely proud of the fantastic and memorable experience they create for guests, this hotel is a very special asset to the Hyatt group. We would love to return.

It was the best travel experience we’ve ever had. We created wonderful memories, thanks to the amazing staff who made our stay truly special. A special thank you to Paula, the Egyptian staff member, who was always there to help us with everything and did his absolute best to make sure we were happy and comfortable throughout our stay. My wife and I recently spent our honeymoon at The Standard Maldives, and overall it was a truly memorable experience. The island itself is absolutely beautiful and incredibly well maintained. Everywhere you look, the grounds are spotless, the water is stunning, and the entire resort has a relaxed yet vibrant atmosphere that makes it easy to unwind. Our villa was exceptionally clean and comfortable, and housekeeping did a fantastic job throughout our stay. What stood out most, however, was the people. The staff were genuinely warm, caring, and friendly from the moment we arrived. You could tell they took pride in making guests feel welcome. A special thank you to Justin, the General Manager, who was incredibly hospitable, approachable, and welcoming. It was clear that he genuinely cared about the guest experience and took the time to connect with people around the resort. Unfortunately, I do not remember everyone’s name, but I would like to recognize the many staff members who helped make our stay special. The breakfast managers and breakfast staff each morning were outstanding, always greeting us with a smile and making us feel welcome. The Front Office Manager who assisted us during checkout was also wonderful and incredibly professional. I do remember Shaak by name, who was consistently friendly, supportive, and genuinely caring throughout our stay. The hospitality shown by the entire team was one of the highlights of our honeymoon. We also really enjoyed the other guests we met during our stay. Everyone seemed to be there to relax, have fun, and enjoy the beauty of the Maldives, which created a wonderful atmosphere throughout the island. Whether it was quiet time by the water, enjoying a sunset, or listening to the DJ in the evenings, there was always a great balance between relaxation and entertainment. Another highlight of our trip was the spa. My wife and I visited twice for couples massages with Uygen and Phutu, and both experiences were outstanding. They were professional, attentive, and incredibly skilled. The spa itself was peaceful and relaxing, and we would highly recommend making time for a treatment during your stay. Unfortunately, during our honeymoon I came down with a digestive illness that kept me largely confined to our villa for several days and significantly limited my ability to enjoy the resort. It was an unexpected and difficult part of our trip. However, I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge the support we received during that time. Justin, the resort doctor, and numerous staff members were extremely caring, attentive, and supportive while I recovered. Their kindness and concern did not go unnoticed and made a challenging situation much easier to navigate while being so far from home. While I certainly wish my health had allowed me to enjoy more of the resort, I am grateful for the hospitality we experienced throughout our stay. The beautiful setting, welcoming staff, excellent service, outstanding spa treatments, and overall atmosphere made The Standard Maldives a honeymoon destination we will always remember. As someone who spent over 15 years in the hospitality industry before becoming a teacher, I have a deep appreciation for great service, and the team at The Standard Maldives delivered exactly that. We will absolutely recommend The Standard Maldives to our friends, family, and former clients, and we sincerely hope to return again in the future. Thank you to everyone who helped make our honeymoon such a special and memorable experience.

It was a good location with chill atmosphere. Nice to move around the resort with the buggy or complimentary bicycle provides throughout the resort. The room and bathroom is sizeable with a good view of the ocean. Always a plus with good A/C.
