We stayed here for nearly a month over Easter (unplanned duration due to a medical situation) but it meant we really experienced all the hotel had to offer! Overall we loved the hotel and its staff. It had a lovely quiet chilled feel to it and never felt too busy, even though I think it was fully booked for part of the time we were there. The buffet restaurant was high quality - not as vast as some hotels we have visited but this was for the better in our view. There was often a theme night and the range of dishes was really good - even after a month we weren't bored! There was no specific kids section but again, this was good in our view. There were always pasta dishes and the ability to get plain pasta if required, and our son (aged 7) who is reasonably fussy, always found something he liked to eat. Breakfast was equally high quality, with regular refreshes of food and pastries straight from the oven. A La Carte restaurants were also great. A good range of cuisine so they felt different from each other and good service in each. We had no trouble securing bookings for the days/times we wanted. Lovely pool area with very little reserving of sunbeds meant it was always possible to find a seat. Sunbeds on the beach were plentiful with plenty of shade if required. We also used the Sugar Beach pool which was larger, just for a change. Beach is beautiful white sand but with coral along the waterline so water shoes are helpful. The sea is really shallow for a really long way out so it was great for snorkelling and there are small coral reefs with fish accessible by a short swim (or walk!). You can get a boat from the hotel to go slightly further out. The sea was very warm and pleasant. We did paddle boarding, pedalo and kayaking from the hotel as part of the all inclusive services - we rarely had to wait and could use as we wished. My husband and son did the glass bottom boat trip from the hotel where they saw sting ray. We stayed in 2 different room types due to the length of our stay - firstly the Garden Bungalow. There were 3 of us so we had the additional bed which made it a little snug but no complaints as we didn't spend a lot of time in the room. We then moved to a Beach Front Bungalow which was larger, particularly the bathroom which had a lot of additional space and a larger shower. Being able to sit out the front and watch the sun set over the sea was a definite bonus. Both were quiet and peaceful and nicely set in the hotel grounds. The room and hotel gardens were absolutely immaculate. The only noise was from birds and bats! I had the best massage I have EVER had in the spa - would definitely recommend the aromatherapy message. Absolute bliss! Special thanks go to Lubin and Kamila in the restaurants for the care and attention they gave us, and particularly how they looked out for my son and made him smile whilst I was in hospital. And to Shirley who sorted all the booking and re-booking behind the scenes with the insurance company. But overall a big thanks to all the staff in the hotel who were genuinely friendly and made our extended stay as easy as possible.
Romantic accommodations (pavilions) in the palm grove. In front of them lies a beautiful, wide sandy beach. It’s like paradise. The entire staff (reception, restaurant, housekeeping) was very attentive. All in all, a relaxing vacation.
We had an absolutely exquisite weekend at La Pirogue Mauritius. Every moment was defined by elegance, comfort, and impeccable service. A special mention to the entire team, with heartfelt appreciation to the F&B team for curating such an exceptional culinary experience. Their attention to detail, refinement, and gracious hospitality truly elevated our stay into something unforgettable. Special mention to Mr. Sachin, the executive chef Vik Mungroo, Desire and Pradeep, Asif, Anand at the bar, sharon at magenta, jean luc at Le Morne restaurant and also to the lady who cleaned our rooms (I forgot her name)
Discovered "La Pirogue" 4 star hotel in mauritius today and it was amazing. Never thought my day would be so incredible. Every drink and food was served with a smile and you never feel like you are not where you are supposed to be. A very big thanks to Mr Amrish and the whole staff for their warm welcome. Special thanks to Mr Lobin for his patience and helpfulness in making the day so memorable for my family. I recommend La pirogue hotel for anyone who wants to have a very good and relaxing time
We had a wonderful experience at the hotel. The hotel amenities are good and the hotel staff are friendly. We had great food at the dinner and breakfast buffet. Special thanks to Mr Ravin, restaurant manager at the restaurant for the dinner buffet who delivered a top-notch service-he was very friendly and made sure we had everything we wanted during our dinner.
