We enjoyed our stay at Riu Turquoise very much. The hotel is clean. Located at the wonderful Le Morne peninsula with direct beach access. Best food and lovely team at the steakhouse.

Our stay began on a very disappointing note due to poor communication and a complete lack of accountability from the hotel. Prior to our arrival, my mother was in regular email contact with a member of the reception team. As we were travelling with an 88-year-old family member and a pregnant relative. The day before arrival, she was reassured that everything was arranged and was even told there would be a "surprise" and an upgrade waiting for us. Unfortunately, none of this proved to be true. On arrival, we were told no such arrangement existed and were asked to pay an additional Mur 7k just to secure one ground floor room. When my mother showed the email correspondence, the reception manager insisted that the employee named in the emails did not work at the hotel, despite clear evidence to the contrary. What was most disappointing was not the initial mistake, but the way it was handled. Our concerns were repeatedly dismissed rather than investigated, leaving us feeling ignored and frustrated. What made the situation even more concerning was the hotel’s response after our stay. Following my mother’s formal complaint, management acknowledged that the employee did in fact work at the hotel, highlighting a serious breakdown in internal communication. While some arrangements were eventually made during our stay, they came only after we raised our dissatisfaction and did not feel like the proactive goodwill gesture later described by management. Mistakes can happen in any hotel, but what we experienced went far beyond a simple error. The lack of ownership, contradictory explanations, and unwillingness to address our concerns honestly fell well below the standards expected of a hotel claiming to offer quality hospitality. Several family members travelling from France, South Africa and Belgium shared the same experience and disappointment. By the end of our stay, confidence in the hotel had been completely lost. For us, this was not a question of facilities or room categories, but of trust, professionalism and respect. Sadly, the hotel failed on all three counts. We left feeling frustrated, misled and deeply disappointed. Given the price paid and the level of service received, this was exceptionally poor value for money. We would not return under any circumstances and would strongly discourage others from choosing this hotel.

Overall, we had a wonderful stay from the 28 May to 01June 2026. A special mention to Mr. Suraj, who went the extra mile(s) to offer incredible service and constant presence. Thank you to all the teams involved in making our stay an incredible and unforgettable one

From the moment we arrived until the day we reluctantly checked out, Hotel Riu Palace Mauritius consistently demonstrated what genuine hospitality looks like. Through the RIU Class programme, we were able to secure exceptional value for our stay. However, what we experienced went far beyond value for money. The scenic drive towards Le Morne and the hotel itself is majestic, creating a memorable first impression. Little did we know that it was only the beginning of what would become an outstanding experience. What impressed us most was not a single feature or service, but the consistency of excellence across every department. Whether interacting with reception, housekeeping, restaurant staff, bar teams, maintenance personnel, entertainment staff or management, every team member contributed to an environment where guests felt welcomed, valued and genuinely cared for. Based on our experience, I believe the hotel's fifth star is very much within reach. A special mention goes to Lachmi, Krishna and Mohit from Maravanne Bar, as well as Ludovic and the wider Food & Beverage team. These individuals are outstanding ambassadors of RIU's journey towards excellence. Their professionalism, warmth and attention to detail elevated our stay even further. Their ability to anticipate guest needs, remember preferences and engage with sincerity reflects a customer-focused culture that is clearly embedded throughout the organisation. The property itself is beautifully maintained, with excellent cleanliness standards, comfortable rooms, a variety of food options and a relaxed atmosphere that perfectly complements the stunning surroundings of Le Morne. The attention given to both the facilities and the guest experience is evident throughout the resort. What truly sets this hotel apart is that service excellence does not appear limited to a few exceptional individuals—it is woven into the culture of the organisation. A further special mention to Ludovic (Food & Beverage), whose leadership and visible commitment to guest satisfaction stood out during our stay. Achieving this level of consistency across an entire operation is difficult and deserves recognition. The music and entertainment added positively to the atmosphere, while noise levels remained well managed throughout our stay. Apart from the 6:05 a.m. fire alarm test which woke us a little earlier than expected on a Monday morning, there was very little to fault. Thank you to the entire team at Hotel Riu Palace Mauritius for creating such a memorable experience. We arrived as guests and left feeling genuinely appreciated. We look forward to returning. Luxury creates expectations. Exceptional people create memories. This team delivered both.
