A memorable getaway. The staff were incredibly welcoming. Their professionalism and kindness really made the stay top notch. Special thanks to Dheeraj for his kindness and warm welcome. Third time in Mauritius, first time staying on the east coast. Personally, I think the beaches on the east coast are the best. Yes, they are windy, but the reef is teaming with sea life and the sand is powder white. Definitely take advantage of the daily snorkelling and the glass bottom boat trips as you will not be disappointed! This spectacular setting, combined with the excellent service at SALT, make for a truly wonderful stay. The layout of the hotel is open and inviting. Lots of interesting complimentary activities offered to guests inc Mauy Thai induction with Kenny, a former national champion. Nothing is ever too much trouble to organise and the staff are focused on ensuring guests have the best possible time. I really appreciated the hotel’s thoughtful zero waste food philosophy and emphasis on good quality and locally sourced ingredients, led by head chef Shiva. I would absolutely recommend dining at Tek Tek - a six course interactive dining menu - all of the dishes were delicious. One suggestion I would make is for the Good Kitchen to have more cohesion around the dishes on offer. Currently the dishes are grouped as "small" "medium" "large" etc - and there's a mishmash of cuisines under the headings and sometimes its not clear why some dishes have been included. Overall, a week at SALT was everything I wanted it to be. Relaxing, great food, beautiful beach, attentive service. The adults only feature just adds to the level of calm. Would not hesitate to recommend SALT to anyone. Special shout out to the following staff members who went above and beyond during my stay: - Dharma at breakfast who delivered consistently excellent service, as did Sharvind - Bhavish and Bharam at the bar are such lovely guys! - Heroo at the beach was just the best and always a delight to see every day - Shaheen at reception - And not forgetting the fantastic boathouse guys, including Rakesh who made sure we saw the turtle!
