SALT of Palmar

So so much of this place is amazing. Some of the staff go above and beyond. Heroo every single day looked after us so well and ravi just to name a few. Had a good time which makes me hesitate to mentioned these things.. For context we were there for 10 nights on all Inclusive package. Started off badly… after a 17hr journey to get there we were told by a young lady on reception that our booking had been confirmed but that we’d not paid the right rate and there may be more charges to pay but “don’t worry we will discuss later someone will come and find you in a few days, relax” maybe this wouldn’t have been a problem for some people but me and my mum had admittedly, already stretched on our budget for this trip. After speaking up and saying we needed to have this confirmed immediately, they seemed shocked and they kind of ignored us until we had to ask again, and we felt like a problem. Unfortunately this ruined the rushed tour and the entire arrival. First impression is a big thing and this one wasn’t good. This also wasn’t confirmed or elaborated on for days, which was unsettling for us. My heart kind of sank also when we checked the food menu a few weeks before we arrived. I would say 80% of the drinks menu isn’t included in all inclusive and about 50% if not more of the food menu. I can understand when it’s the lobster or extravagant items. But smoothies aren’t included, appeltisers, only one beer included. It felt like there were lots of things not included that didn’t feel justified. Even the local rums (no import taxes and rather cheap). We ended up just navigating what we were allowed. One amazing thing that people must try is the Tektek restaurant. Ravi was so fun and this was great value for an experience like it. The Sunday barbecue is also delicious. Definitely our food highlights. Not as many activities or live music as publicised. There’s supposed to be a few nights of live music a week and in our ten days we heard music on two consecutive nights. Activity wise there are lots of things on the board but the activities don’t seem to happen unless one guest has booked 24hrs in advance. (As in it feels like they don’t organise it until someone books) On my last day I woke up at 5:30 for a sunrise yoga class, and nobody turned up. The air-con in the gym was also broken so exercising was difficult. To conclude: The hotel itself and the majority of the staff are a pleasure to be around. Friendly and helpful. In general I think the food packages and inclusions need to be considered in more detail. To me “all inclusive” has been misleading for this hotel. From reading other peoples reviews, and my own experience, I think the check in experience needs to be managed by someone more mature. Although I would come back just to see Heroo, I would try another hotel on the island if I were to return. Mauritius is a great place which I have loved to explore. Though, I’d be lying if I said it was the perfect hotel experience for us.

My father and I had truly a beautiful Christmas experience at SALT. From the moment we arrived, the team made us feel incredibly welcome. A special thank you to Rishi and the entire staff, from the warm welcome at the entrance to the bar team, housekeeping, and room service, every detail was handled with such care. The atmosphere is calm, peaceful, and serene, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy meaningful time together. The food was exceptional, and the hospitality was outstanding. Our stay at Salt of Palmar in November 2025 came at one of the hardest times our family has ever faced. After the heartbreaking loss of our mother, my sister, my father, and I needed a place where we could simply breathe, heal, and be together. From the moment we arrived, the team welcomed us with such genuine kindness and compassion. Their care, empathy, and thoughtful gestures created an atmosphere that felt safe, peaceful, and deeply comforting. It truly felt less like staying at a hotel and more like being surrounded by a family who cared for us during a very fragile time. Everything about our stay was exceptional, the beautiful rooms, the outstanding food, the attentive service, and the warmth of every single person we met. The hospitality we experienced was beyond anything we could have imagined. What could have been an unbearably difficult moment for our family became something peaceful and meaningful because of the grace and love shown to us there. As a family, we are deeply grateful, and we cannot wait for the day we return. Thank you for helping turn such a painful chapter of our lives into a memory filled with kindness, comfort, and beauty. Salt was just an amazing experience from start to finish. From a cool fruit cocktail welcome drink, to the service from all the delightful men and women on the staff, this place is just great. The food was also top quality as were all the water and coffee and products in the room.

Another outstanding experience at Salt of Palmar. We've been many times - great service and food. Highly recommended.
