SALT of Palmar

A lovely hotel in an idyllic and very quiet location. The beach is on a lagoon, so the water was usually perfect for swimming or paddling. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was delicious and was almost without exception made from Mauritian ingredients. Special mention must go to their exclusive restaurant, Tek Tek, where a limited number of guests sit around an expert chef who cooks a delightful series of courses right before your eyes. The cocktail selection was very broad and, like the food, was themed around Mauritian ingredients. I only visited the spa once for their basic massage package, but the staff were great and very keen to see to a customer's specific needs. They had a lot of different spa treatments too, for those more interested in that sort of thing. I stayed on the hotel grounds for my whole trip, but the hotel advertised and organised plenty of excursions and experiences around the island for those who want to get out and about. Sadly, I was dreadfully lazy and didn't visit the gym, so I can't comment on that. I stayed in one of the beachfront rooms, with a wonderful view of the vast expanse of the Indian Ocean. The sunrises were gorgeous. The balcony was nicely secluded from the adjacent rooms for privacy. My room was comfortably furnished with lots of big pillows on the bed and a very decadent walk-in shower. All-in-all, I was delighted with SALT of Palmar and would recommend it to anyone!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at SALT of Palmar. From the moment we arrived until the day we left, we felt genuinely welcomed by the entire team. The Mauritian hospitality is something truly special, and every staff member was friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. The hotel itself is beautiful, stylish, and very relaxing. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a perfect holiday. The food was outstanding. Every meal was fresh, varied, and of excellent quality. We especially enjoyed the breakfast and the dinners, which offered a great selection of local and international dishes. The beach is stunning, with crystal-clear water and a peaceful atmosphere—perfect for relaxing and enjoying the beauty of Mauritius. Every meal was beautifully presented, full of flavour and prepared with so much care. We looked forward to every breakfast, lunch and dinner because each one was a wonderful experience. A very special thank you to the chef, who was always “à l'écoute”. He took the time to listen to our preferences and made sure every meal was exactly what we hoped for. That personal attention made us feel truly valued and added something very special to our stay. One of the most memorable parts of our honeymoon was the spa experience. The massage was exactly what our tired bodies needed after all the wedding festivities. The therapists were incredibly professional, gentle and highly skilled. Their care and expertise allowed us to completely switch off and relax. We also enjoyed the salt room and the gommage treatment, which completed a truly wonderful wellness experience. We left the spa feeling refreshed, re-energised and completely at peace. A heartfelt thank you to the amazing spa team for taking such wonderful care of us. I decided to visit Mauritius this year but was not sure where to book for my holiday. Then SALT took my attention because of its size and location. It was such correct decision. The hotel is very well managed. All of the team members are extremely helpful and friendly. Always smiling people around makes one feel comfortable and relaxed. The rooms are well in size with balcony where one can listen to endless singing of birds. Very comfortable bed . I have not experienced a beach as clean as this one anywhere, no plastic,no cigarette butt ... Everyday I looked forward to swimming in the lagoon. In addition to all of this I had the chance to taste fine dining menu of the Tek Tek restaurant. It was a seafood menu straight from the lagoon & local markets and very innovative. It is so sad that I can not eat it anywhere else. The other restaurant was also great. I loved it. I am so satisfied to have planned my vacation in SALT. I will always remember my (paradise) days and lovely people here. I highly recommend to those who wish to have quiet, high quality, happy vacation in a beautiful environment and swim in cleanest lagoon. Thank you SALT team.

Returning felt like coming home, with familiar smiles and the same warm Mauritian hospitality that made us fall in love with the hotel during our first visit. From the moment we arrived, the team welcomed us back as repeat guests and made us feel genuinely appreciated. It's rare to find a hotel where the staff remembers you and takes such a personal interest in making your stay special. The tasteful décor, quality bedding, premium amenities, and thoughtful sustainable touches create a relaxing atmosphere where it's easy to unwind. Housekeeping maintained the room impeccably throughout our stay, and every day we returned to a space that felt fresh and inviting. The culinary experience was another highlight. Every meal was full of flavour and beautifully presented, with an excellent balance of healthy options, fresh local produce, and authentic Mauritian cuisine. Breakfast was always a pleasure, offering delicious pastries, tropical fruits, freshly prepared dishes, and excellent coffee. Dinner was consistently outstanding, with creative menus that gave us something new to discover each evening. The beach remains one of the most beautiful on the island. The crystal-clear lagoon, soft white sand, and peaceful atmosphere make it the perfect place to relax for hours. Whether enjoying a morning swim, taking part in the complimentary water activities, or simply watching the sunrise, every moment by the ocean was unforgettable. We also treated ourselves to a spa experience, and it was every bit as exceptional as we remembered. The therapists are highly professional, the treatments are deeply relaxing, and the tranquil setting makes it easy to disconnect completely. It is truly one of the finest spa experiences we have enjoyed in Mauritius. What keeps bringing us back, however, is the incredible Mauritian hospitality. Every member of the team—from reception and housekeeping to the restaurant, beach attendants, spa therapists, and management—delivers service with genuine warmth and pride. Nothing ever feels forced; everyone goes above and beyond to ensure you feel comfortable and cared for. SALT of Palmar has managed to maintain its unique charm while continuing to improve the overall guest experience. It offers the perfect combination of authentic local culture, exceptional cuisine, beautiful accommodation, a stunning beachfront setting, and heartfelt service.
