Tropical Attitude

One of the best hotels we have stayed in, the staff are amazing and the most happiest and sincere people that you will meet. We stayed n villa 109, which was such a treat with the plunge pool and hammock and was also very quiet. We were met with a drink and warm face cloth on arrival after the long journey and our villas was available earlier to allow us to check in. Every day we had lovely towel art left for us from Karriin the cleaner as well as a turn down service in the evening with a bottle of fresh water. We spent Years Eve watching the fire works on the beach and a beautiful spread of food and prossecco was put on for all guests. I had a lovely massage from the lovely Nadia. The staff that really went above and beyond were Ram (thank you for my husbands birthday cake), Arvin (always willing to stop for a chat and such an asset to the hotel), Jasraj (amazing young man who will do well), Karen, the main Chef (always checked we enjoyed our food), Gevin and the lovely sweet young lady who is going to France to study her Front of House qualifications. Breakfast was my favourite meal with the choice of omelettes and pastries, cheese and meat and fresh fruit! All of the facilities were constantly kept clean and the pool was very refreshing after a hot day. We did a few trips, the 5 island tour was my favourite where we went on a speed boat and saw 5 different islands, dolphins, turtles, fed the monkeys and finished off with a lovely BBQ, Donney the skipper was so much fun and provided us with snacks and rum and we met some lovely people on our trip. We also did a day tour of the north of the Island with a local tour guide and my husband played a round of golf on the Lle aux Cerfs island while I made the most of their private beach. The staff and the hotel are what made our holiday so special but it is quite a poor country in some parts and I was a little disappointed int the village as there not a lot there, I like to venture out and visit some shops in the evening but Trou d'Eau Douce, was very limited. Grand Bie did look nicer but the lagoon and the view out of the hotel was like a picture postcard. We also took advantage of the free shuttle boat to Lle aux Cerfs, this I feel is a lovely beach but is streaming with tourists, the little market there but was very touristy oriented with water sports and just scores of tourists, so different to the private beach by the golf club. the glass bottom boat is the same boat used for the snorkelling, but the boat was hard to get in and out of and was very small. Was lovely holiday but very we did get bitten quite a bit from the mozzies even with repellent on and beach shoes are advisable. Please note that there is a hotel dog that lives there, so if you are not a dog lover please be aware he is around the hotel and restaurant, he lives there so please do not order him out of the restaurant like a certain German lady did - he has been around a lot longer than you!!! All in a lovely hotel and all staff were lovely apart from one in the bar area, please at least smile and look like you are enjoying your job!! Beach towels can be replenished each day and so can your mini bar if staying all inclusive. A picnic can also be ordered if you are going off for the day.

Tropical attitude.. what an amazing place. We had a pool villa which was absolutely amazing. Muhammad on arrival was amazing with a huge smile. The food in the restaurant was beautiful for all three meals. Shout out to ram your a star. The resort is small and friendly throughout. Kimini the room maid was excellent with different towel decorations every day. A great 5 star experience in a 3 star hotel. Well done each and everyone of you.

We enjoyed our 4 nights at Tropical Attitude, could have stayed longer. It's very relaxing,chilled and quiet, with a beautiful sea view from most (or all) of the rooms. The resort is pretty and well maintained. There are sun loungers in front of all the rooms, although they are mostly in the shade (not always a bad thing in Mauritius!) We didn't get the room we booked, so there was some confusion on arrival but the room we got was nice and they gave us a couple's massage to make up for the inconvenience. The masseuse was very good and soothing. It was a relaxing experience, listening to the birds singing in the trees and the low, background music The management was always accommodating and friendly. The room has all mod cons and the bed is large and comfy. Air--conditioning worked well. The shower was modern and there was usually hot water. Maybe avoid that 5:30 - 6:30 time when everyone is in. Our cleaner, Geeta, did an excellent job. We appreciated the green initiatives - like no plastic bottles and even a reef safe sun cream free to use. The pool area is small but so is the resort, so there never seemed to be a fight for the sunloungers. The food was excellent and varied. It was also warm, which is unusual for a buffet. There was always local Mauritian dishes to try. The food truck had some nice snacks in the day time. There is a well regarded ala carte restaurant but my husband isn't too keen on curries, so we didn't try it. The restaurant staff were particularly friendly and helpful, especially Ram, Sunil, Vishant, Ashit and Mia. The young lady in the shop was also helpful and smiling. The bar was well placed next to the pool and the cocktails were very tasty. We tried quite a few! There was a darker beer that my husband enjoyed. It was very relaxing to sit around the pool at night with a cocktail, listening to the low key bands and singers that play most evenings. The weather was perfect when we were there, not too hot. That part of Mauritius is known for being very windy but it wasn't when we were there. There's not really places to swim in front of the resort (which we knew beforehand). Walk a short way to the left and there is a bit of a beach. Bring beach shoes, like on most of the country's beaches. Definitely take their free shuttle boat transfer to Ile aux Cerfs. It's beautiful and very quiet if you walk just a little bit further to the left, past the cafe (great ice cream!) and the crowds. The swimming is fabulous and you feel like you're on a desert island. There was also a short boat trip to snorkel but there's not much reef left in Mauritius. Still, it's a pleasant and free trip. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay. A few more details upon arrival would have helped, like the fact that we could get free drinks for our mini fridge and snacks from the shop. But that was a small problem.

We are currently 4 days into our Honeymoon and if it’s paradise your looking for then Tropical Attitude is it. From its laid back vibe and lush green surroundings it’s heaven on earth. The staff are amazing, always happy to help. Fifi the dog is just adorable snoozing in the sun or on security perimeter patrol. The food is amazing so fresh and the beach shack does the best chicken wraps and chips. Would I come back, most definitely.

Simply amazing. The best beach holiday we have ever had. The rooms onto the bay are just beautiful. So chilled and gutted to leave. All staff from the bar , cleaners, cooks , gardeners are amazing, friendly and helpful Shout out to Nancy for our fussy eating ( no salad!) We shall return and are nearly in tears having to leave.
