Akumal Bay Resort

Jocelyn Rodriguez was wonderful, with very fast service. The drinks are wonderful, the beach is beautiful, everything is amazing. Couldn’t ask for a better trip.

We've returned to this resort annually for 3 years. Our first visit was the day after a hurricane had hit... No problem! The staff quickly attended to repairs, the food was still great, and the hospitality was terrific! Our second visit was even better! I don't know how, but this third trip topped them all! The weather was perfect, which provided for beautiful beach conditions and wonderful snorkeling. We had the best massage services from Carmel and Iztel, and the premium staff---Omar, Carlos and Kevin--made sure we had everything we needed. (German was always available to help us find chairs at the beach and poolside!) Goodbye until next year!

This is a beautiful, comfortable and peaceful place to spend a week or more. The atmosphere is casual, the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, the rooms are roomy and super-clean. The morning and afternoon meditation classes are as good as you'll find anywhere. The yoga classes ( 3 a day) are wonderful. And the massage therapists in the spa are terrific. Special thanks to Omar and Alejandra at the Premium Building check-in/concierge service... to Martha our massage therapist... to Carmen our housekeeper... to Franco and Barbara and Hiram for the meditation and yoga classes... to Jorge who does an amazing job as captain of the main dining room... and to Leandro, our server at one of the four specialty restaurants on site. They all made our first visit to this resort a wonderful experience.

Thanks again for another great week in paradise. Our second visit was just as good as our first. We enjoyed every day as we took in the resort and also got out to do a few things. We did have a lit blip when we checked in but that was dealt with quickly and we did end up getting a bit of an upgrade to one of their penthouse suite in building 2 which in right next to the pool and also next to the front reception. Thank you to Carlos for handling the room issue and Pedro for the quick and easy checkout, the ladies loved the little turtle ornaments you gave them! The beach was very good with snorkeling right out in front with plenty to see. We did have a few days of the sargasm coming in but it was dealt with as soon as they could get to it. The resort has to be one of the cleanest we have been to in our many years of travel. The service all around from the pool waiters to the lounge and restaurants was superior. We enjoyed all the restaurants and the buffet was always easy to find a seat. I really enjoyed the sushi bar at the pool area and the 24 hour snack bar beside the main pool. Chicken wings were amazing! We took in the lounge just about every night and the entertainment we had there was always good. they played from 8:30 -10:30 every night. If you want to enjoy a very relaxed and pleasurable stay do not hesitate to book your holiday. Don't be afraid to get off the resort and go into the town of Akumal, tiny but a nice little walk around the area was neat. Or just walk down the beach to one of the many restaurant and bars or even 7-11 just outside the gated area about a 10 min walk. thanks again!

We had a superb stay at Akumal Bay Beach Resort. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, the rooms are updated and very luxurious, and the food was outstanding—offering a wide variety of high-quality options. The beach was the highlight: clean, easily accessible, and perfect for long walks along the shore. We will definitely not hesitate to book another visit! Special thanks to Pedro and Jesus at the Snack Bar, German on the beach, and Alan from management, all of whom made our stay truly perfect. A genuine 5-star experience!
