Akumal Bay Resort

We had an amazing and very relaxing stay at Akumal Bay Beach & Wellness Resort with our two-year-old son. From the moment we arrived, the staff could not have been kinder or more welcoming. The service throughout our stay was excellent. The food was fantastic, especially in the à la carte restaurants. One of the benefits of having a Premium room was being able to make reservations in advance, which was extremely convenient. The team running the pool activities were wonderful and did such a great job including our son in the aqua aerobics sessions, which he was absolutely fascinated with. At the beach, sun loungers sometimes had towels reserving them early in the morning, but German did a great job managing the situation and removing them when necessary so that everyone could enjoy the space. The beach service was excellent. Graciela was especially attentive and always made sure we had everything we needed, and Ivan at the snack bar made fantastic cocktails. The rooms were very spacious, very well maintained, and the hot tub was perfect for continuing to relax after a day at the beach. My wife especially loved the aromatherapy service in the room at night. The nightly entertainment was also great, with a variety of music and bands that made the evenings really enjoyable. The beach itself was beautiful, and the hotel did a great job removing most of the seaweed each day. Sometimes a bit accumulated during the day, but it was easy to navigate around it to reach the clear turquoise water. Overall, we had a truly wonderful stay and would absolutely come back again.

excellent resort with very calm and pleasant atmosphere, very green and natural surroundings. Pleasant and helpful staff, very good food all day round. Well kept room and room service. very pleasant staff of the kids club, only better play ground would be nice. Our only issue was constant background noise in our room ( 3011) coming from some pump or piping near by. during the day hardly noticeable, but at night it was clearly audible. we tried to change room however was not available for our length of stay. Other than that nothing to complain. very decent value for money, we booked directly on resorts web.

Since 2019, we have stayed at the Akumal Bay Wellness Centre Resort five times! We begin each day with meditation at 7:30 a.m. followed by Rise and Shine Yoga at 8:00 a.m. with Hiram. Each time we have come, Hiram has led these sessions and he is the reason we come back, year after year. I have dabbled extensively in meditation/yoga for 45 years plus, and Hiram undoubtedly is one of the best instructors I have encountered, both at home and in my travels. Despite having to adjust to a new crew of loyal followers each week, he is able to seamlessly serve those that are just trying meditation/yoga on for the first time, as well as those that show up for daily, deep practice. During Hiram’s instruction he shares (in just the right amount) some of the theoretical components of the yoga practice and how they connect to benefit your health and wellness. He intuitively reads the room to sense the needs and limitations of his students. The resort management needs to know that they are very fortunate to have a true gem in Hiram and that the yoga they offer at the resort is truly world class. Hiram has many loyal followers who return because they know the quality of meditation/yoga instruction they will receive while on their vacation. Thank you Hiram. Does not disappoint. Second time here…2018 and 2026. Beautiful location. 5 star hospitality. Activities and entertainment perfect if you care to join or prefer to read in peace. Thank you Omar and Pedro at reception.

We just had a great week at Akumal Bay beach resort. The staff are friendly and helpful and the resort is clean and gorgeous. I would like to especially mention Daniela who runs the kids club, my daughters loved her and she even babysat in our room one night while my husband and I went out to dinner in Tulum. The girls thought she was fabulous!
