Akumal Bay Resort

I first visited this hotel four years ago, and since then, I have made it a tradition to return every year. This property is truly a diamond agenuine jewel nestled in nature where every guest is treated with exceptional care and elegance. From the very moment of arrival, the experience is remarkable. We were warmly welcomed with refreshing towels and a delightful drink by the butlers, Issac and Trinidad, setting the tone for an outstanding stay. The reception team consistently went above and beyond, always ready to assist with any request — even promptly replacing our room keys whenever needed. The bellboys who were always happy and rembered us . A very special thank you to the PR team Carolina Rodas, Elvira the Russian and Alan the Mexican for their thoughtful gesture of welcoming us back with beautiful flowers, and remembering our names ,constantly checking on us assuring our great stay and enjoying the conversations with them , Rommel kindly accommodated us in Building 2, and we truly appreciated his attention. I would also like to recognize the outstanding leadership of Manager Juan Luis, who always made time to personally check in with us and ensure that every aspect of our stay was perfect. The culinary experience is exceptional throughout the resort. While all restaurants are fantastic, we especially enjoyed the buffet, thanks to its incredible team. Mornings were a delight with Mr. Ubiera, Juan Carlos, Damaris, Santos, and the talented omelette chef. A special mention goes to HUGO, the captain, whose professionalism and leadership are evident, along with his right hand, Willbert One of the highlights of our stay was the unforgettable pizza created by the chef Mauricio , who crafted a unique combination of fresh tuna, salmon, cherry tomatoes, and mushrooms without a doubt, one of the best pizzas I have ever had. At the snack bar, Pedro the waiter stood out for his cheerful attitude and attentive service. The bar experience was equally impressive, with excellent service from Ernesto, Erick, Clemente, Omero, Alejandro, Wilbert (“Little Orange”), and Ever. For late-night cravings, Hermes is always there, offering not only great service but also wonderful conversation. We had the pleasure of staying in one of the newly renovated rooms in Building 2, and the transformation is truly remarkable. The updated design, refined architecture, and beautiful details across the property — from the lobby bars and new swimming pool to the snack bar and beach lounge areas — elevate the entire experience. The new gourmet menus and the upgraded selection of premium beverages, including labels such as Torres 10 and Johnnie Walker, add an extra touch of sophistication. The wellness activities were deeply meaningful. We participated in yoga and meditation sessions with Hiram, Franco, and Barbara. The sound healing session with Franco was especially moving an experience not to be missed. Starting the day with morning meditation and yoga with Hiram, who speaks excellent English, was both refreshing and inspiring. We also enjoyed snorkeling, where we were fortunate enough to see turtles, and attended an engaging turtle conservation class with Alejandro, whose passion truly shines. The entertainment team provided countless memorable moments, especially Miguel, who introduced us to paddle boarding for the first time. Once again, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the entire team. It is truly the people who make this place so unique a true jewel in every sense. We can’t wait to come back next year .

It was amazing stay. The accommodation and location was perfect. Room service on top. Alan and Elvira was always there to help us , they spoke English, Russian and French ! Everyone is very friendly, helpful and kind.

The resort is excellent. The staff are amazing and attentive. Rosa gave us such great service all week, and our kids loved Pedro who was excellent with them. Nothing bad to say about our experience here. Thank you staff of Akumal Bay beach spa and resort

I just wanted to shoutout Abel the Orchestra Man!! Loved his presence and music around the resort, wish I could've heard him play more. Wishing you the best man!

We stayed Mar 2026. Our room was fabulous and the whole stay very restful. What we did have a lot to say, was how amazing the staff is. From the people who measured the sargassum, to bathroom attendants, to servers and entertainment staff, everyone. Some did not speak English, but we were always able communicate and those who spoke English also were very helpful with me practicing my Spanish. I have to make note that Keni, in the Akumal Bay Resort store is incredibly sweet and helpful. I love how the staff in the Lobby Bar, Patricia Lopez, Daniella and Marissa, remembered us each day and even what we would like to drink, so friendly. Genuinely happy to see us and us them. The staff in the Grill restaurant also, Araceli, Cristian, Joel, Genaro. Smiles all around. If we return there one day, I hope to see them again
