Akumal Bay Resort

It was a marvelous and relaxing time. I enjoyed myself immensely. The ocean had a lot of sea weed but I had a great time at the pool, with the acua aerobics and Micaela spoiled us with drinks and sushi. German always is great help with any inconvenience we might have . the people in the restaurant are great, Toribio and Julio were super nice & at the buffet Adriana Carlos, Angela & Janine were always super helpful. I wish I could stay more time.

We have been visiting Akumal Bay for over nine years, and this trip came with a wonderful surprise. Many of the hotel’s facilities have been completely renovated, including the furniture, loungers, beach chairs, sunbeds, outdoor showers, and other common areas. Everything feels fresh, modern, and very well maintained. One of the highlights is the brand-new gym. It is spacious, incredibly well equipped, and comfortable, making it perfect for anyone who wants to enjoy a vacation without giving up their fitness routine or staying in shape. The service continues to be outstanding. German, the manager, is always attentive and genuinely cares about the guests’ experience. The buffet staff were as friendly as ever, and the lady preparing the omelets every morning was especially kind and welcoming. The pool has also been renovated, creating a very relaxing atmosphere. The only thing I would have enjoyed even more would have been livelier music around the pool—something a bit more upbeat and fun to dance to. Like much of this region, sargassum can affect the beach from time to time. However, it did not prevent us from swimming or even snorkeling. My son was able to see beautiful coral, and we still had a great time in the water. What stands out most is the dedication of the team working behind the scenes. You can tell they are constantly investing in improvements and working hard to make the guest experience even better. After more than nine years of returning, Akumal Bay continues to be one of our family’s favorite vacation destinations, and we look forward to coming back again.

Second trip to Akumal this year: same magic than last summer! This place is wondeful, relaxing and calm with a beautiful site: beach, palm trees, birds and fishes, real enchantement! All staff so friendly and welcoming - special thanks to Hugo and chief Jesus for creating a seafood paella for dinner specially for us, simply delicious! Will return for sure!

We just got back from a week at Akumal Bay Resort and it was exactly the reset we needed. This isn’t a huge party resort, it’s small, calm, and very “barefoot wellness. The beach is the star. A full mile of white sand and you can walk straight into the water to snorkel with sea turtles. That alone was worth the trip. The staff were genuinely warm and remembered our names by day 2. Rooms were recently renovated, ocean view, and the 4 restaurants gave us enough variety for an all-inclusive. The staff were spectacular at The Grill: Shout Out to the staff Joel, Ricardo, Genaro, Araceli and Cheff Lalo for the amazing food and service, you guys were amazing Daily yoga and the spa were perfect for unwinding. Pools were clean and never crowded. Perfect for couples, families who want chill time, and anyone coming from Canada to escape winter. We’d go back.

Everything amazing at the Akumal Bay Beach & Spa Resort, with special shout outs to Alan, Elvira, Adeline, Rommel, on guest relations, all going the extra mile to ensure your holiday is the best it can be. Also a shout out to master mixologist, Gabriel, aka Tinkerbell, who makes the best dirty monkey in the business!! Food, drink, ambience, all fantastic! A lot of seaweed but they do their best to clear it, and it must seem a thankless task to the poor guys that are working on it! But that said, it wouldn't stop us coming back!!
