Blue Diamond Luxury Boutique Hotel

Family trip with two college age kids and their SO’s. It was quiet, private, small and personal. The staff was so kind and always greeted you with a hello from the heart gesture that I have not seen anywhere else. Our rooms were quite a distance from the pool/beach, but the path provides plenty of shade to walk. We often found a bike to use and there are often carts offering rides. A few things that may have an effect on your trip: 1. Sargasium (sea weed) is literally blocking the way into the ocean. They are attempting to clean it manually with wheel barrows, but a tractor would be needed to keep it under control. 2. Construction of a massive resort next door could be heard when outside. 3. We assumed the little pool outside our room was broken because we could not get the dials to work, but learned on the second to last day that you needed to call to have it filled. 4. The dinners were AMAZING! Having soup in hot weather seems weird, but the apple soup was incredible! Overall an excellent experience for a good price as long as you don’t have any mobility limitations.

My wife and I had a great honeymoon here. The resort was vas very clean and the grounds were beautiful and well kept. The staff was attentive and always willing to assist. The food was amazing, not just compared to other all inclusive resorts. Each night I felt like I was going to a fine dining restaurant, especially when we went to Ambar. There is something on the menu each night for everyone and it’s all high quality. We loved our room overlooking the Cenote and it was fun getting to see some wildlife on our walks down to the beach. If you’re looking for a laidback vacation at a smaller resort, this is your spot.

The staff was amazing, the food was delicious and the jungle feel and smaller resort were just what we had hoped for. We highly recommend the resort. They can help with day trips and getting you to town to see the sights.

Not a 5 star luxury resort. I’d have to rate them 2.5 - 3.0. 1. The resort is in desperate need of renovations. 2. The AC in the rooms does not work properly. If you can get the temp to 75 you are lucky. 3. The hot water for the shower is nonexistent. 4. There are nowhere near enough chairs at the pool/beach. 5. The chair side bar service at the pool/beach is awful. They do not have enough staff. 6. When there is a thunderstorm the only place to go is to your room or to the lobby. At the lobby there are a few love seats-that’s it. 7. The coffee/snack bar is really a joke. It’s a coffee machine with pods and they have a few pastries from 9-12. It’s not open any other hours. 8. If you need a place to go cool down, the concierge lounge down by the pool is the only place. 9. If you have any mobility issues, do not come here. You have to walk everywhere, which is fine if you’re able. They only have 2 golf carts available and they also take care of arrival and departures. Several of the deck railings are very loose and move when you lean on them. Railings do not exist by the stairs at the pool. It was terrifying watching older couples navigate these. There is also no railing to get in and out of the pool. 10. In order to get up to the restaurant you have to go up two flights of steep stairs. These would be the main issues. The staff are amazing and do what they can as they are way understaffed. The food was good. Could be better but overall not bad.

The gym was one of the better hotel gyms I've been in in terms of depth and quality of equipment, which was nice to see. The attendant, Maurice, was very helpful. The equipment was generally in good condition, although the elliptical could use some tightening of its handles. For improvement I works prefer if the air conditioning was cooler as I found the room warmer than preferred. They also could use more secure lockers that worked properly.
