Dos Playas Faranda

Location excelent, beautiful beach. Food delish, all typical mexican or exiting theme food. Fav of mine jamiacan. All staff so friendly and profesional. Special thanks to managerJane, bartender Cesar, waiterJohan, watiress Cristina and couple more staff. They went beyond impossible to make our holiday amazing. Definetly value for money. Great atmosphere, all the guests all so friendly.

This is our first time in Mexico and it was a last minute holiday change as we were planned to go India. On arrival the original hotel booked was not for us so we paid and booked this hotel. Whilst it might be tired in places , the staff just cannot do enough for you. So pleasant and friendly. The beach is lovely and the staff work hard aaily cleaning the seaweed up. Our room had a sea view and was nice. We definitely would book again.

I would have put 5 star had we not had needed to change rooms. Our first night we landed we were shown the our room and disappointed is an understatement. The room was very dated, balcony door unable to open and we faced the car park, security and right next to road. That night we’re could not sleep. The road noice was horrendous. So bad I went down at 4 in the morning to reception and asked for a room change. They were extremely helpful and told us to come back at 12 with our bags and room key and they will move us. The room they put us in was amazing! Total upgrade for free! The beach is gorgeous although I would say get there early as we felt there were limited deckchair's for the amount of guests. They cleaned it every day. The food was lovely, lots of Mexican dishes and it changed everyday. Not the usual all inclusive chips and nuggets. The staff were really helpful and very welcoming. They surprised me on my birthday with cake, bottle of bubbly in my room! Buses in to town right by hotel and easy to use. We did a couple of excursion’s. One to the to the pyramids, swam in the connotes and lots of tequila tasting but the bus picked us up at 7 in the morning and we arrived back at 2130 which made it a very long day. We did a booze cruise to the island and snorkelling. All in all we loved every second. Definitely would recommend this hotel.

This was our second time staying at Dos Playas Farandas and each time we have had an excellent experience. We upgraded our room for this stay with the help of Jose Luis, who we communicated with prior to arriving and Yeing selected a room with an incredible Oceanview, just as we requested. All the staff members from front desk reception were exceptional. A standout employee from Front desk is Alan - he is so kind, courteous and hard working. The food was more impressive with this visit as another restaurant was open called Celitro Lindo that offered more authentic Mexican Dining. The bar tender made very impressive drinks - I can’t recall his name. The Japanese restaurant is also open for dinner services - not just sushi snacks during the day. As always the wood fired pizza was delicious as were the burgers, hot dogs, nachos and French fries at the Beach Bar. Caesar, the main bartender at the beach bar is also a very gracious and hardworking individual who makes great drinks. The main buffet, Iguanas - is always well appointed and often the dishes are in theme with the entertainment for the evening - for example Asian cuisine to coincide with Asian performance - dancing dragons etc. All of the restaurants waiters at Iguanas are inviting and eager to please. Antonio, remembered us from our previous stay, he was wonderful. As always, the rooms and facilities were clean and the grounds well maintained. The iguanas that call the resort home are fun to watch and the Peacocks are a highlight of our visit. Pools are clean and the beach is also clean and the ocean very nice. Staff work hard everyday to clear the seaweed from the beach. There is sometimes a shortage of loungers l, but never for long and this is no big deal for us. What else can we say. This resort is perfect for us, as we don’t want the huge 5 staff party experience and want a more authentic cultural experience. Thank you to all the staff at Dos Playas Faranda for making our stay enjoyable. We will be back. Oh I forgot to mention the Mexican Feista night - that was a blast. A huge celebration in the garden with different food stations and entertainment. The other restaurants are closed on this night. I think it’s Thursday.

this is a great discovery. mexican food was great. Cesar is an excellent bartender and brings an amazing vibe, often making us custom drinks that were delicious variations on what we ordered (for example if we ordered a pina colada, he’d suggest a melon pina colada. if we ordered a mojito, he’d suggest a mango mojito. all new favourites). the overall atmosphere is unassuming and relaxed especially compared to other resorts in the area. lots of quiet areas to enjoy the ocean or pool while reading or lounging. not a party scene. mostly families and couples but not too many kids yelling or anything so the vibe was romantic. feels more connected to nature than other resorts too. lots of beach space. lots of grass and trees. animals roaming freely throughout the resort. LOTS of peacocks and iguanas. food is ok but if you stick to the fish and mexican dishes its very good, and the pizza, sushi, and burgers are good enough for the odd snack. room was clean and had what we needed. not fancy but we were outside all the time anyways. Air conditioning works well. we did all inclusive. my partner and I are artists and not wealthy and we didn’t think a trip to cancun was feasible but this place is very affordable and we were very happy with the value. you can really eat and drink as much as you want. the drinks aren’t too strong which is good because we sometimes had 12 pina coladas in a day. and the bar tenders will make them stronger if you ask. special shout out to the servers David and Carlos at Cielito Lindo’s restaurant who always brought an amazing vibe, bringing special drinks to our table, making us have special dates for our a la carte meals. also this place is a good filter. if you’re hoity toity, this place is probably not for you. but if you’re on the fence and down with a relaxing, affordable beach vacation, don’t let the haters deter you.
