Dos Playas Faranda

We had made a reservation for a different neighboring hotel Mayan Caribbean, which was under construction and not available and was made to check in into Hotel Dos Playas which is next door . This was not the quality I expected nor atmosphere, nor cleanliness the other hotel offered which was what I had paid for . Pretty bad experience with the female manager in the front lobby. On top of that, my son while eating breakfast at the hotel while eating a waffle found a bloody used bandaid inside the waffle . He actually had chewed it and pulled it out of his mouth and was disgusting. They got the attention of one of the kitchen staff and they immediately took it away and no one really seemed concerned about it . The front manager wasn’t even notified about the incident. No one apologized, nor any attempt to find out if the person the bandaid belonged to was ill and if my son needed any treatment for anything he might have been exposed. The following day spoke to the main manager and he as well had no idea about the incident. He said they would send the employee to get tested for any infections but after that have not received any updates or information about it . Doesn’t seem they took the incident seriously since it wasn’t their child this happened to.

You get what you pay for,but will defo back again. Rooms very basic but clean,we got upgraded to room with balcony and sea view which was great gesture 🥰 we had room only,we opted out for all inclusive. We had breakfast in hotel few times-220 peso per person which great deal. Everone were really friendly,but I feel like they mostly cater for Mexicans. Every evening entertaiment was in Spanish but still fun when was karaoke :) Minuses-pools not realy taken care off,bit dirty and loads of broken tiles around,sun beds super dirty unfortunately. Bit far from restaurants,used uber to travel to town. Plus- beatifull beach,quiet and relaxing. Close to ferry to Isla Murejes (about 45 pounds per couple return). Oxxo 5min away. Super compfy bed and pillows. Food good.

Nice hotel, great staff except the entertainment that speaks only in Spanish so everyone else is excluded??

If you’re young and looking for a budget resort to stay at while you do excursions I would 100% recommend this place. It was perfect for us and our needs, however, if you’re used to huge fancy resorts where there’s constant entertainment and no real need to leave at any point in your trip you might be disappointed. For us, it was good because it was clean, the beach was small but beautiful, the location was perfect for excursions and the service was exceptional. The food was a bit hit or miss, most nights it was pretty good but I have to admit I was looking forward to going home to my own cooking a couple nights lol. If you’re staying here I would recommend booking excursions to fill at least half your trip (which are very worth it in Mexico) and then spend a couple days relaxing at the resort. Overall though a pretty solid experience, it wasn’t dirty or sketchy or weird by any means and I felt very safe there as a young first time traveller.

Nice place beautiful grounds, great staff,room was OK,pool nice,food ok,entertainment becomes a bit repetitive after 10 days,beach isn't massive but others are available .
