We have just returned from our stay at Grand Sirenis, and overall we genuinely had a lovely holiday. The resort itself is absolutely beautiful, the grounds are stunning, and there is so much to enjoy. You can tell that a lot of effort goes into creating a relaxing and entertaining experience for guests. The restaurants were one of the highlights of our trip. The food throughout the resort was exceptional, and we were honestly impressed by the quality and variety available. We tried several à la carte restaurants and really enjoyed them. Karnal was fantastic and one of our personal favourites. Oishi Teppanyaki was also amazing — both the food and the atmosphere made it a really memorable experience. We also visited Butchers, which many guests highly recommend. While it was good, it personally was not entirely to our taste compared to the others, but that is simply personal preference. The sports bar was excellent, entertainment was enjoyable, and overall the atmosphere around the resort was lively and welcoming. The staff throughout the hotel were friendly, hardworking, and helpful, and we truly appreciated their kindness during our stay. However, there were a few issues that unfortunately cannot be ignored. The biggest disappointment for us was the cleanliness of the room. The room itself was spacious and nice, but cleanliness standards were not where they should be for a resort of this level. There was visible mould on the bathroom ceiling, and you could smell the mould as soon as you entered the room. Even with the air conditioning running constantly on high, the smell remained noticeable. As someone sensitive to smells, it became quite unpleasant at times. The bathtub was also not properly clean, which made the issue feel more concerning overall. Another thing we really did not appreciate was the “VIP breakfast/member presentation” experience. A concierge kindly offered us what was presented as a complimentary VIP breakfast in the members area and an opportunity to simply have a look around. We were actually already very happy with the normal breakfast buffet and had no intention of upgrading anything, but we thought it might be a nice experience. Unfortunately, it turned into an extremely long and uncomfortable sales presentation that lasted well over five hours and took up more than half a day of our holiday. Despite politely saying multiple times that we were not interested, one manager after another kept coming to our table trying to convince us to purchase extremely expensive membership and holiday packages costing thousands of pounds. At one point we had around four different staff members sitting with us, and honestly it became very difficult to leave the conversation without feeling pressured. What was sold to us as a simple complimentary breakfast and tour felt misleading in the end. We came on holiday to relax, not to spend hours in a high-pressure sales environment. I strongly feel guests should be informed much more clearly in advance about what these presentations actually involve so they can make an informed decision. The final issue, and honestly the one that affected us emotionally the most, was the situation with the cats living around the resort. During our stay, I personally counted more than 11 cats around the property. Many of them were extremely skinny and clearly struggling. Some of the cats were very young mothers already trying to raise kittens while visibly malnourished themselves. We saw cats near the restaurants by the theatre, around the room blocks, near the ice cream shop, around the Praia pool area, and even tiny kittens hiding near seating areas. Many tourists, including ourselves, were feeding them daily because it became obvious that these animals rely heavily on guest kindness to survive. What was upsetting was the complete lack of visible fresh water stations or any obvious care from the hotel for the animals living permanently on the property, especially in such intense heat. After posting about the cats online, many previous guests contacted me saying that years ago the resort apparently used to care for the cats more actively, but that this is no longer the case. I was also told that the hotel has refused to cooperate with local charities that offered trap-neuter-return programs. If true, this is deeply disappointing. I completely understand that feeding programs may be complicated because of raccoons and other wildlife around the resort, but at the very least there should be proper fresh water stations, shaded shelter areas, and a humane neutering/spaying program in place. Without this, the cycle simply continues — starving young cats constantly having kittens while struggling to survive themselves. Despite these concerns, we still did enjoy many aspects of our holiday very much. The resort has beautiful surroundings, excellent food, lovely restaurants, and fantastic staff who work incredibly hard. However, I am only giving this resort a 3-star review because of the room cleanliness issues, the lack of fresh water and proper shelter for the cats living on the property, and the reported refusal to work with local charities to humanely trap, neuter, and return the cats. These are issues that could absolutely be improved with more care and responsibility from management. With better room maintenance, more transparency regarding the membership presentations, and a more humane approach toward the animals living on the property, this resort could truly be exceptional.

Absolutely incredible holiday. The rooms were huge, well maintained. The grounds are so big. The staff are lovely and very welcoming. So much to do and see in the complex. The food variety was amazing too! We want to give a massive shoutout to Marsial the waiter. Easily the best there. Was so kind to our little one. So attentive to us every day we were there. And just in general such a lovely person. Our little one has missed him a lot
