Riu Caribe

My husband and I are in Cancun at the moment staying at Secrets The Vine .. We were married in Rui Caribe in 2003 and wanted to just have a trip down memory lane and see what the hotel was like now . Wasn’t allowed entry even after I tried very kindly to explain our reason for being there.He let me use the toilet but followed me like I was gony raid the place!!! We are in our 60’s so we hardly looked like we wanted to try and get free drink & food . The guy at the door was unhelpful and a tad rude very disappointed and the hotel looks nothing like it did lost all its charm Glad we didn’t book to stay , but if your looking for a lovely friendly holiday The Vine Secrets is the place to be

I got food poisoning eating the shrimp at the buffet, they tasted "off". To add insult to injury, at 7am next morning I had a member of staff knock on my door and tell me I'm to leave my room and I'm essentially getting kicked out of it. I go to the front desk and and they tell me they had noise complaints. I told them I was puking and flushing the toilet all night because of the food poisoning from their buffet. Zero empathy. Avoid this resort at all costs. They told me to go to the doctor. Classless...

Worst rip off ever seems too good to be true nobody answers phones nobody knows where you can actually eat 24 hours food service means cold sandwhiches you have to microwave don’t go to this save your money or spend a bit more. Food is also all horrible and workers are all rude.

Customer service awful , even in 3* hotel you get better. “lady” from customer service should change her role in hotel. The only good thing was beach , all the rest was lower than average. And in general if you are not drunk teenager then it is not your place for vacation.

Second visit to RIU Caribe, another fantastic experience! Just like last year, every aspect of this place is top level Arrival smooth and quick, room ready and perfectly clean. Design is well thought out. Bed comfortable, bathroom perfect, view beautiful Most important, people. Everyone here is nice, genuine and ready to help. Dining room servers very nice, pool and beach people great. Activities staff excellent. Everyone says hello. Beach is beautiful, they work hard to keep it clean, water clear. Lounge chairs plentiful and in good shape. Pools clean and fresh. Pool bar bartenders helpful with drink suggestions. Clean, clean, clean! Staff is constantly working to sweep, wipe and dust. Only down side was that we were right on the edge of spring break, so more crowded than last year’s early February visit. We’ll be back next year!
