Riu Caribe

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful location! The views were stunning and staff were amazing. The cocktails were fabulous sat in the swim up pool bar and the party nights were lively. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff work hard to ensure everyone had a great time. The food was ok but not always hot. We only ate in the buffet restaurant but the themed ones may have been better. We always found something we liked though. The snack bar round the pool always had freshly made food at a hotter temperature. We would definitely stay again

Very bad experience. We stayed a different riu hotel. When we went to the Riu party. The Riu caribe security guy stopped us and didn’t allow us to get in the lobby. Riu’s policy says you can go in any Riu facility as long as you stay with one of Riu hotels. This is the first time we stayed with Riu. Very bad experience. We won’t go to any Riu hotel again.

Stayed 12 days at RIU Caribe. What a fantastic hotel. Rooms were clean & spacious. Beds were extremely comfortable. Mini bar in fridge was restocked every 2 days. 4 large bottles on optics in the rooms. Rum, tequila, vodka and gin. Fantastic seaview from the 9th floor rooms. Buffet & steak restaurants were our favourite. Asian restaurant was notso good. Food was never hot enough. Swim up bar pool was amazing. And a stones through from the white powdered beach set on the chrystal clear waters. The Caribe has party afternoons and evenings. Great if you are after a lively holiday. I even got to DJ at one of the RIU parties, so a massive thank you to Nathan for sorting that. Also got to say a big thankyou to Israel who served the drinks to us as we were on our sunloungers. Him shouting "shots, shots" will stay with us forever. Thank you to all the friendly staff at the RIU Caribe for making our family holiday so special.

We had a great time at the Riu Caribe, it was our Wedding anniversary and my husband's birthday and the room was decorated with a big towel cake and balloons, we felt so happy, great start. Great view from room 549, lots of storage space, massive bed. Friendly reception staff, all staff were really nice always with a smile. Israel with his cocktail cart at the main pool in the morning was really nice, he went over to all the sunbeds fist pumping and smiling at everyone getting them a drink at about 9am. The Riu parties were Amazing 👏 especially the Pink party, being a flamingo fan i loved it. All the decorations, the dancers, entertainment team, dj, incredible. They are for all ages, I'm a woman in my early 50's. The polar bear, gorilla, robots on stilts etc were amazing and great for a photo. It was easy to get a drink, the arena had bars specifically for your hotel. I highly recommend going up to the smoking area,even tho I don't smoke, the area was all open with tables and chairs and had great views of the party, so good for people watching. The food was really good. I loved all the fruit selection especially at breakfast 😋 really liked the soups, creamy pumpkin and Indian tomato soup, my husband loved the oxtail. The specialty restaurants were easy to access, maybe a short wait and the food was good. Pepes the pool food bar was the same food every day, but it was nice. My fav cocktail was Doctor funk, but honestly I enjoyed all the drinks I tried, my husband enjoyed the beer. The entertainment at the hotel was great, we enjoyed playing some darts, boccia and bingo. Loved the aqua aerobics with Mr Tony. Great energy from the team 🙌 Great shows at night. We loved the silent disco, 3 dj's playing different music u can change to. They had fun casino tables a couple of times a week at the reception area which were fun to play. The sports bar staff were very attentive and friendly. Great atmosphere in there. It was a short walk from the hotel to the ferry terminal to visit Isla Mujeres, defo visit Punta Sur the highest point of the island with a beautiful sculpture trail and amazing scenery. There is a small fee to visit, 120 pesos. We visited the Riu Ventura which was a really nice hotel, it's 1 of the hotels u can visit when staying at the Caribe. The bus stop is just outside the hotel, it was $3 and I recommend getting of at Playa delfin beach and u can get a picture at the Cancun ball and walking along the beach to the hotel was beautiful. The Tui reps were really nice, we had booked a trip to Holbox, which I highly recommend it's a long day but most trips are. It was nice that the tiu rep was there at checkout to check on the transport, baggage etc We would definitely want to return to this hotel, everything about it was Amazing.

Went here with a group for my 50th birthday. Hotel was huge and well maintained. Our initial room had twin beds which my husband wasn't happy about but it was no issue to move rooms, they even moved our luggage for us. The food was great and lots of choice and restaurants. The pool areas were clean and plenty of sun loungers. Great swim up bar but there were quite a few wasps which couldn't be helped. The beach was beautiful and the sea was warm. You can use the other hotels in the area too which is nice but we stuck to ours. They have loads of themed parties but I have to admit the DJ's couldn't mix very well. They'd start playing a track and then change it half way through, so annoying. That aside they were fun. To our suprise we had a great night at the silent disco and we swore we weren't setting foot in there. I'd recommend this hotel and definitely visit Riu again in the future.
