Riu Palace Las Americas

My wife and I recently stayed at the Riu Palace Las Americas for our anniversary, and we had a wonderful experience overall. Check-in was welcoming, friendly, and very simple. We decided to pay for an upgrade to a sea view room, and it was absolutely worth it — the view was fantastic. I know some people describe the rooms as dated, but personally I found them very clean, well-equipped, and full of charm. One small observation would be that the shower could probably be maintained a little better, although it worked perfectly adequately throughout our stay. The bed was quite firm, which I know will suit many guests, although it was slightly too hard for my personal preference. The fridge in the room was kept well stocked throughout the holiday, which was a nice touch. The lobby area is stunning, with plenty of seating available. One thing we did notice was that some guests seemed happy to walk straight through the lobby after leaving the pool, which understandably made the floors slippery at times. This certainly isn’t the hotel’s fault — people just need to be a little more considerate. The staff were constantly cleaning and mopping the floors, which was appreciated. The buffet food was excellent with plenty of choice and everything cooked well. The speciality restaurants naturally have a more limited menu, but that’s to be expected. Out of those, I think the steakhouse was our favourite. We did tip generously during our stay, but that was entirely our choice and never felt expected. Every member of staff we encountered was friendly, hardworking, and wonderful. To sum up, this hotel is definitely worth visiting. We had a fantastic stay and, if we return to Cancún, we would happily stay here again.

For us, this resort just checks every box. If you’re looking for a hassle-free all-inclusive resort, this is it. Excellent location on the north side, with smooth ocean, beautiful turquoise water, and no seaweed. Delicious food and drinks the whole time without exception, and no reservations needed at the restaurants. We ate between 6-7:30 each night, never had to wait, just walked right in (but we were told to get to the steakhouse at 6 because they fill up and stop taking names earlier than the other restaurants). Ease in finding pool or beach chairs. But the service and friendliness of the staff stands out above everything else. I wish I could name every member of the staff that contributed to this being an outstanding trip. I watched Jimmy the pool bartender happily take great care of everybody day after day. Isai at the lunch buffet would not let me run low on Dos Equis or Tajin. Finally, on our last night at the resort, we ate at Krystal and lucked out and had Hanniel and Isias as our servers. A delicious meal made even better by their attentive, gracious service. Thank you, Riu staff.

A huge thank you to all of the staff who are amazing. You were incredibly kind Warm and generous with your smiles and hospitality. You helped me and my sis before and after her fall enjoy our time at the hotel. The food is delicious and so many places to eat. Thanku Orlando, Robert & shaquarna (front D) . If I’ve not named you your smiles are not forgotten. One Love, Jamaican people work incredibly hard and well deserve tips be it small or big. They never ask , are gracious and super polite xxx

Stayed at the Palace for 7 days, celebrating my milestone birthday with 10 of my family/friends. I could have not asked for a better birthday trip (well, maybe better dinners?). Weather was fantastic. Beach was gorgeous. This is my third trip to RPLA and the staff was the best part of the experience, again! Big thanks to Marlene (breakfast buffet server who kept our coffee and mimosas full), Eder (dinner server ready to offer wine options), Juan and William (the hardest working beach waiters!!), Samantha and Miguel (pool aerobics classes were fun, fun, fun), and Mary (piano bar server who took great care of us night after night, keeping cocktails and popcorn bowls full). These people work tirelessly to make our vacations easy, relaxing, and fun. It must be difficult to show up with smiles for those 12 hour days, but they do it. I wish they had breakfast buffet all day. It's the best food, hands down. Unfortunately, specialty restaurants for dinner were hit or miss. We had some delicious dishes and some inedible pieces of shoe leather, masquerading as steaks. ;-) But the buffet always had something to fill our bellies - don't miss out on the ice cream. Entertainment team works all day to keep the fun going. Only made it to about half of the evening shows thanks to long days in the sun with fruity drinks. ;-) But the silent disco is not to be missed. Even those skeptics in my party became fans after a few songs. Dance like no one is watching.... but the people watching is priceless!! Cheers!

Would give this six stars! The best managed, staffed, and serviced Riu we've ever visited. Stunning grounds, always spotless, the best private beach on the strip, amazing food, and really great people like Hanniel and Ruben and Nelly and Andy etc. go above and beyond to deliver a luxurious experience. If you want a relaxing, chill vibe with stellar service, this is the place.
