Very nice hotel and good location , service and food was very good

What can we say about the Hotel Riu Palace Las Americas in Cancun? Simply put: WOW! Once again, Riu has given us an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed, appreciated, and truly taken care of. This is much more than a beautiful resort—it is the people who make this place so special. The Senior Manager (Maria) and the entire management team (Gustavo and Omar) deserve our sincere thanks and recognition. Their professionalism, warmth, and attention to guests are outstanding. You can see that they genuinely care about creating a wonderful experience for everyone. And then there is the entire staff. Every single person we encountered—from the front desk to housekeeping, restaurants, bars, pool and beach service, and all the wonderful people working behind the scenes—was friendly, smiling, attentive, and incredibly hardworking. Their dedication makes such a difference. We felt like more than guests; we felt like family. The food was fantastic! So much variety, freshness, and quality. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and the specialty restaurants—all offered something delicious. There was always something to look forward to, and the service in the restaurants made every meal even more enjoyable. And the ambience of the resort is simply wonderful. The beautiful beach, the pools, the tropical surroundings, the music, and the relaxed atmosphere create the perfect place to enjoy a vacation. Whether you want to relax or have fun, everything is there. But what truly stays with us are the people. A resort can have beautiful rooms, wonderful food, and an amazing location, but it is the staff who create the memories. The team at Riu Palace Las Americas does that exceptionally well. To the Senior Manager, management team, and every member of the Riu family: THANK YOU! Thank you for your smiles, your kindness, your professionalism, and all the little things you do every day to make your guests happy. We came to Cancun for a vacation, but we left with wonderful memories and an even greater appreciation for the people who made our stay so special. The hotel is great. Staff wonderful. Location, great. Food horrible. The restaurants are very good. Both food and service is great at the restaurants. The buffet is a joke. All food was cold all the time. All sodas warm all the time. Fish, chicken, beef, all food cold, cold, cold. Very little selection in the buffets. The food in the 24 hour kitchen terrible. Food in the inside small buffet by check-in, horrible. They don't have outside by the pool food like the other Riu hotels. We went to Caribe and they had a wonderful outside section with burgers, tacos and dogs. Nothing here at Los Americas. I would not come back to this place for 80% discount.

RIU Palace Cancún is the best RIU property we have stayed at so far! You can tell that the staff genuinely care about the hotel and the experience they provide. Everyone was so kind and welcoming, and they made my birthday trip feel extra special. The entire property was incredibly clean, and the food was great at every restaurant we tried. I also loved that reservations were not required for dinner, unlike at some other properties. It made the experience much easier and more relaxing. The beach was easily the best part. It was absolutely gorgeous, and the staff worked constantly to keep it clean and safe. We also loved the RIU Fit team and the entertainment staff. There was always something fun happening during the day and in the evening. My only disappointment was how far away the RIU Party location was. Transportation is available, but the distance honestly made us skip the parties, even though we normally love attending them when we stay at other RIU resorts. Thankfully, the entertainment team and evening activities at the hotel still kept us entertained, so it did not take away from the trip. Overall, we had an amazing stay and would absolutely return. We were there as a group of 6 - 3 couples - this hotel was amazing - from the moment we checked in the reception staff are wonderful. We had an issue with our air conditioning not being cold enough and went down to reception who immediately offered us another room, they gave us the key and asked us to go and look to see if this was cooler but it was at the same temperature so they then offered us another room and again we went to look, the temperature was perfect so we moved all our items into this room. Impeccable customer service from them. This room had a pool and sea view and was such a beautiful view. We could not fault anything - the staff are all amazing from the cleaners, bar staff, pool bar staff, entertainment, concierge - everybody went out of their way to help. To name a few there was Abu in the Bar, he was brilliant and could copy so many accents he was so funny and very quick at making sure everyone had whatever drinks they wanted - Lucero (or as we called her Lucy) she was so sweet, always smiling and always over asking if we wanted another drink - most of the staff are like this it was just Lucy made more of an impression on us, she was wonderful and lastly Jimmy at the Pool Bar - my goodness to work out in that heat and always have a smile on your face and be running around all the time. As I said all the staff were lovely and I wish we had taken a note of more of their names but these are the ones that stuck out for us. Just a note on the cleaners - wow they work hard - the room across from us was vacant and they must have been in that room for almost an hour getting it ready for the next guests as I walked by I looked in and the bed was pulled out and the furniture all out - they really give it a good clean which is comforting to know.
