Riu Tequila

Our second visit here and an overall nice trip. Resort is kept spotless and staff are very friendly and work tirelessly to ensure everything is kept immaculate. However, the issue we had was with the pools in the resort which lots of other guests we chatted to had the same complaint. Water does not seem to circulate very well at all meaning the pool is consistently warm bordering on hot in the afternoons. Many guests were choosing to go to the RIU Yucatan across the road purely to cool down. The water level was dropping a lot and witnessed staff every morning empty several buckets of water out of the pool just to pour on the tiled sunbed area to clean it. Surely this isn't the best way to clean the area? Think management need to look into this as was not refreshing to use the pool facilities of our own resort meaning had to travel to others or the beach. Apart from this cannot fault.

If you enjoy large, busy party hotels then this is for you. Rooms lovely, cleaning staff work so hard. Food was up and down.. main buffet restaurant had lots of choice but pasta was often cold and some dishes dry and overcooked. The other restaurents were better but still buffet style eating not full al a carte. Beach was lovely. The spa was fabulous and we enjoyed a lovely treatment..the outside classes were spot on.. but sadly people smoke in that area which takes away the benefits. Our room wadnt reafy at check in which was not good and in the end they movef us.The coates were brilliant! Overall a good week but its not our cup of tea.

Just back from a wonderful stay at the Tequila, we were checked in in minutes and found our room with ease. The hotel is situated in a gated community of houses and hotels, with local shops just a few minutes walk away. We were so welcomed by all the staff there, special shout outs to Leydi, Rosy and Velasco who work the pool side bar, these guys made our holiday, they busted their asses every single day to make sure we felt like absolute rockstars, definitely not an easy job in such a humid and hot climate! Also a huge shout out to Zefe in the main food hall this guy was an absolute legend who remembers your drink orders on a table of 10 and was so attentive, our glasses were never empty!! The food was great with plenty of options for all meals. The rooms were cleaned daily and kept immaculate by the cleaning staff! After a bad stay at the RIU Ocho Rios last year I was worried we might have made a mistake booking another RIU resort, but the Tequila and the staff totally smashed it out the park! Big thanks to all the lovely staff for making our stay so very special!!! Absolutely loved being surrounded by all the wildlife there too!!

Stayed 2 weeks at this hotel and it wasn’t long enough!! Rooms a good size and were well equipped. Mini bar and optics’s replenished every other day if used. Cleaner Verinice did an amazing job on the room every day. 4 pools on site.Swim up bar nice in the morning but got very crowded and very loud after lunchtime. Best pool we found was the one behind the towel hut and scuba diving which was more quieter. The drinks service around the pool was amazing thanks to our server Leydi !! Nice to have use of the Yucatan and Playacar hotels across the road which you could have lunch , snacks and drinks in the day time and go for evening entertainment using the bars also if you want a change from the tequila hotel but evenings were excellent here too. Drinks in all bars were fantastic including branded makes at no extra cost. Food in all restaurants was excellent with a great selection. All specialty restaurants are definitely worth a visit. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Everything from the amenities to the staff were top shelf. The food was great, the facilities were great, the staff are friendly and hardworking. Zero issues from us, we will 100% be back to this resort.
