Overall the hotel was good, but felt like we were treated like 2nd class guests even with the diamond club status. This was mainly due to not tipping before service, particularly on the beach with drinks, sunbeds reservations and parasol service. Ignored and walked passed or around constantly. Unfortunately this is caused by North Americans who we all know tip, but before service??? i.e. arrive and tip to be looked after, instead of gaining good service and then tipping - WRONG!!! We did tip, but only to staff who made an effort with us all week. RESTAURANTS Italian - Precooked then warmed up pasta :( Steak house - Very griserley steak, and cooked twice then warmed again soft limp fries :( Asian - Very over-salted main dishes :( but the sushi was excellent :) Seafood - Didn't visit Mexican - Excellent. Visited twice :) ROOMS Ocean Front Diamond Club Room. Clean, but failed due to lack of towel and mini bar service. We were forced to request again and again to constantly check. Balcony door was very stiff to open hence my wife struggled and maid didn't bother. DIAMOND CLUB The price for the uplift was originally £1,250 for a weeks stay that I gained by making contact with the hotel direct a few months prior as TUI didn't offer this upgrade. However, I managed to gain a discount and paid £825. Was it worth it, definitely NOT! Secrets the Vines just down the road is basically the same hotel price with an upgrade cost of £400 for an 8 night stay and was/is totally worth it. The Butler service at The Royalton was useful for restaurant bookings, but the constant coming to find you for praise was extremely annoying. As polite as they were, I don't want to see them whilst eating, or swimming, or sunbathing or sitting at the bar or (and this is the worst one) using the toilet facilities... BEACH The beach was sublime and should be mentioned as its incredible. My Wife and I are pool people, but we couldn't ignore the beach. Cleaned everyday, beautiful views and warm blues waters. Incredible. POOLS We only used the Diamond club pool to cool off from beach bathing. It's small and is used as a drinking hole for noisy folk. The regular pools were extremely noisy and fun, but this did run from 10am to 6pm constantly. The so called party pool on the roof was hell on earth. I can see why it might vibe foe a night party, but during the day, it was either closed or not utilsed by guests.

We had the pleasure of being looked after by Gilbert and Daniel during our 5-night stay at Royalton Chic Cancun, and they truly made our trip exceptional. From the moment we arrived, they went above and beyond to ensure everything was seamless and stress-free. Whether it was steaming our clothes, securing dinner reservations, booking excursions, or recommending great places to visit, nothing was ever too much trouble for them. Their attention to detail and proactive approach meant we could fully relax and enjoy our holiday without worrying about a thing. Both Gilbert and Daniel were professional, friendly, and incredibly attentive throughout our stay. Their service was genuinely outstanding and made a huge difference to our overall experience. We’re so grateful for everything they did and would highly recommend them to anyone staying at the hotel. They are an absolute credit to the Royalton team!

This review is specifically to the manager and staff of Sky restaurant of the chic royalton. Mauricio the manager is the embodiment of leadership and customer experience. His staff went above and beyond to give us a very memorable last dinner on the 16th floor with a gorgeous sunset view. Our server Nelson brought us recommendations, took our photo, and served what I felt was a $1000 experience. The trip was great at the resort, but the dinner at the sky from manager Mauricio, server Nelson and chef Antonio was phenomenal.

Location was perfect, rooms were clean, Esteban & Alfonso were really helpful.Anenities were great.

We had an amazing week in April at Royalton CHIC Cancun and would absolutely return. The food exceeded our expectations across the board—fresh, flavorful, and with plenty of variety, whether you’re in the mood for something casual or a more upscale dining experience. The beach is just as stunning as the photos: soft white sand, clear turquoise water, and the perfect place to relax or take in the sunset. What truly made our stay exceptional, though, was the service—especially from our butlers, Alphonso and Esteban. They went above and beyond every single day to make sure we were comfortable, taken care of, and able to enjoy every moment without stress. From thoughtful touches to quick assistance with anything we needed, they made the experience feel personalized and seamless. Overall, it was the perfect mix of luxury, relaxation, and fun.
