Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya

I can't say enough about this resort. The staff are fantastic and they just can't do enough for you. We stayed in a Premium Garden View room which was a great location, close to everything. Rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. The pool areas were spacious and we never had to rush out to "save a lounger". The pool concierge was always coming around making sure we had everything we needed. Beach was clean with lots of loungers. All of the restaurants were the best we have had at an All Inclusive Resort in Mexico. No reservations and everyone dressed for dinner. We were celebrating our anniversary and the staff insisted on bringing us up breakfast in the morning. Wow, it was incredible and it came with a bottle of champagne. They went above and beyond and that evening when we went for dinner we were also given a special dessert. The entertainment was top notch, even during the daytime they had great live music. Quiet in the evenings. We can't wait to come back, best resort we have been to in Mexico! Unfortunately I don't remember the names of the staff because this is a late review but honestly they all stood out.

Secrets Akumal Rivera Maya is an AMAZING resort.. From the wonderful and helpful staff, to the amenities, to the dining, to the Beach. It was a place we will always cherish and hope to one day make it back to.. The greet you with “welcome home” when you arrive and by the time we left I actually felt as if I was leaving home… AMAZING…

Secrets Akumal blew us away. As soon as you walk into the resort you’re treated like royalty. Service was incredible every single day. Drinks and food were the best I’ve had at an all inclusive so far. We stayed at the quiet pool most of our visit and loved the atmosphere. I would recommend this resort to everyone who is looking for a relaxing vacation. Isaac who manages the quiet pool was incredible. Every day he made sure we had everything we needed and it was a pleasure to get to know him. Abraham and Metz were great as well during our stay!

Another fabulous trip to Secrets Akumal. The staff and service are amazing. Make it your next trip and you will not be disappointed. Definitely include the tequila tasting with Santos!

My boyfriend and I first visited Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya in April 2024, and after returning for a full week in May 2026, we can confidently say this resort is truly something special. The first thing that deserves recognition is the service. Before our trip even began, I reached out to the concierge team to confirm spa appointments, and Cecilia immediately responded via email. What impressed us most was that when we arrived, Cecilia was personally there to check us in and give us a tour of the property herself. She introduced us to our building concierge, Metz, and from that point forward, both Cecilia and Metz consistently checked in throughout our stay to make sure everything was exactly how we wanted it. They helped coordinate beautiful spa treatments, a romantic dinner on the beach, and generally made us feel completely taken care of every step of the way. Their hospitality never felt scripted or transactional — it felt genuinely warm and personal. Our room overlooked the lush jungle landscape, which made the entire resort feel peaceful and tropical. The property itself is absolutely beautiful: immaculately maintained, manicured, and somehow both luxurious and approachable at the same time. Walking through the grounds feels almost magical. The all-inclusive experience here is exceptional. Food, drinks, room service, minibar — everything was consistently high quality and always available. Our minibar was restocked daily, and we definitely spent plenty of time at the swim-up bar, where Irving became one of the highlights of our trip. He remembered both of us, our drink orders, and our preferences almost immediately, and he constantly made sure we had everything we needed. Another thing that stood out was how effortless the resort made relaxation feel. One day, we arrived at the pool and initially couldn’t find open chairs with shade. At many resorts, that would mean awkwardly hovering around or regretting not “claiming” chairs at sunrise. Not here. The pool concierge immediately helped us find temporary seating, assured us he’d keep an eye out for something better, and within about 10 minutes had moved us to shaded chairs with our own umbrella and transferred all of our belongings for us. That level of attentiveness perfectly captures the overall experience at Secrets Akumal — you never feel stressed or like you have to compete for comfort. The restaurant service was equally incredible. Staff members remembered our names and small details throughout the week, which made the resort feel intimate despite its size. The activities team was also fantastic, especially Sinia, who remembered us from earlier activities and even encouraged me to sign up for the Voice competition after seeing me enjoy karaoke earlier in the trip. What makes Secrets Akumal stand apart is that everything feels personal. The atmosphere is relaxed, intimate, and welcoming, and the staff truly makes the experience unforgettable. When we checked out, Cecilia was there once again to make sure we had enjoyed our stay. She even gave us a small gift and told us she hoped to see us again. At many hotels, moments like that can feel routine — but here, it felt sincere. Without question, we will absolutely return. I would recommend Secrets Akumal to anyone looking for exceptional service, beautiful beaches, wonderful accommodations, and the feeling of being completely cared for from beginning to end. It genuinely feels like a home away from home.
