We had a wonderful trip to Secrets Akumal in early May! We were married the year before so it was great to come back for our anniversary. Shoutout to Metz, Lady, Max, Carlos, Daniel, and all of our other friends we loved seeing again! Best staff ever!! One thing to note is it was extremely difficult to get a hold of someone to help us book our anniversary night. And then they did not tell us we had a complimentary massage until the day we left, so we did not have time to use it. It was also difficult to get a good seat by the pool unless you went very early in the morning. There are limited good seats at the main pool u less you spend a lot of money to rent the Bali bed. Seaside grill and el patio were our favorites for dinner! Thank you Secrets Akumal!

My husband and I spent 5 nights here for our anniversary. It was our favorite trip, and I hope to return someday! Service was top-notch. Our main goal was to relax, and that was absolutely achieved. The beach has so much sargassum, but that is out of their control. We still enjoyed our Bali bed reservation on the beach one day. It was peaceful and quiet. Room was wonderful, pools were great, and food was delicious. Everyone went above and beyond to ensure our 20th anniversary was recognized and special. I hope we can return one day!

Great place just relaxing. Horrible beach area. Resort is very difficult to navigate through due to trees and lack of signs.

A fantastic resort to relax and connect with your spouse or significant other. It's not a party resort, and it's not a stuffy retirement community. It is an excellent balance of fun activities and quiet peacefulness. The staff is beyond dedicated and it's obvious they love their jobs. The breakfast buffet is unreal. The swim out rooms that face the jungle are a little buggy (mosquitoes) so I'd recommend bringing bug spray if you book one of those rooms.
