TRS Coral Hotel

Love it Vera relaxing and host was funny and sweet like the chocolate

My sister loved sexy Rosy, Michelle and Mimi!!! They made this class super fun and now I have a fun souvenir and memory.

We have just returned from the Coral last Friday and thought I would give you my thoughts on the hotel. Check in was quick and smooth which was very welcome after a 10 hour flight from the UK. We were quickly passed over to the dreaded "greenshirts" and offered the welcome breakfast but we expected this and politely refused. This was taken very well and we left with a smile. Just on this point, I do feel the travel club is now being pushed much more aggressively. At the Yucatan and Turquesa we were not asked at all but at the Coral we were asked constantly and dont rely on the green shirt to warn you, one day someone wearing white also tried to pin us down. As I said a polite no sorted things and after that we could pass the time of day with them when we saw them. We had a swim out room in building 2 (2018) It was very comfortable with everything you needed. The deck is massive and the swim out pool big. It does have the issue of not getting much sun as there is a great Bali bed but its under the overhang of the balcony above which meant we had sun until about 10.30. If we come back I would not bother with a swim out here, the pool was used very little and I think there was only a couple of occasions when we saw anyone else using theirs. If you still want one the best to go for would be pool facing in building 1 I think they are odd numbers. Other than that, we had no complaints, remember to bring a damp rid bag as the humid air and air con tend to make the rooms a bit damp. Nothing the hotel can do about this but its easily solved if you are prepared. The Air con worked well if it was a tad noisy. The room was kept very clean and tidy by our maid Emma who did an amazing job. Our butlers were Carlos and Roberto. Carlos found us within 5 minutes of entering the room and gave us a quick run down of events, signed us into the whatsapp group and booked our Ala Catres for the rest of the week. You can only book for one week and reservations open Sunday at 2PM We never had a problem with getting reservations. Both Carlos and Roberto were amazing, if we needed anything it was there for us and we can fault them at all. thanks guys. Its low season at the moment so Helios was closed for breakfast leaving just Capricho. This was okay as it had a small buffet and ala Carte selections. Just a quick tip if you like an early morning coffee then this is the place to go and get a take out. Theres music every morning and we were well looked after. Quick shout out to Gabriel, who always had a smile and a bit of banter even if we were not on one of his tables. The foods great, omelettes top notch and service quick. At lunch time Helios is open and Capricho closed. Helios has great views and is off the menu only. They do make fantastic Guacamole and everything we tried was top notch. We did go over to the large buffer Isla Blanca and found it pretty good, its better than Poseidon by a long way so if you are over that side then I would recommend there. Near Poseidon id the Ice cream parlour and pizza stand. both a great and highly recommended. The pool area is fantastic, there is loads of room and plenty of loungers so it didnt matter what time you got up. We found it quiet in the morning but got louder after lunch, not too loud I have to add. There is a swim up bar and Ivan makes fantastic cocktails. One thing we noticed was there is no seats at the bar, this is a good idea as people didnt tend to linger and it made it easier to get served. There is also waiter service to your lounger and Carlos kept us in cocktails all day. Ala cartes were hit and miss. Mostly hit Im glad to say. Our favourite was Tentazonie, we had 2 fantastic meals there and the tiramisu is one of the best I have ever had, its made at your table. A shout out to Antonio who looked after us on our anniversary and made the night very special. Next door is La Boheme the French restaurant and again we found it very good. There is also a great cocktail bar located between the to restaurants and they do a mean Martini. Sumptori is good we did the ala carte side and the sushi section. Both really good. El Gaucho was great. Once we had finished the Sous Chef came over and asked us how we found the meal. I thought it was a great way of improving service and food quality. El Dorado is the other steak house and we found this very good as well. Al Adelita the Mexican was great and the steak there first class. Out only disappointment was Boghali the Indian restaurant. We found the food to be a bit bland, especially the Lamb Rogon Josh which was very thin. I shouldn’t really be surprised as we do have a lot of really good Indian restaurants at home so maybe I am being over critical. The village is a great idea, there is a excellent coffee shop and you will also find the sports bar there. its a great location for food and to catch up on sports. The main theatre is there for evening shows and finally the Aqua bar which we loved. There is generally a band there or the silent disco. Bands are on from 10pm Nightlife is generally quiet, there is a late night disco up on the Sky bar in the TRS section but we found this disappointing as the music was just the constant "thump thump" type. I thought it was our age but the absence of people on an otherwise amazing venue made me think I was in the majority. if the music is fixed I am sure this will be a very popular venue its also used for white night and karaoke and is crowded. The beach is really good when you compare it to the ones further down the coast. There is some seaweed but its quickly cleared in the morning. The sand is very nice and you can walk for miles. This is a solid hotel, its walkable or you can use a cart or the boats. They have a chocolate wall in the lobby bar which is worth a visit. There is entertainment here some nights. I would defiantly recommend it if you have been to TRS Yucatan or Turquesa.

The resort was beautiful and the staff were excellent. The only recommendation I would make is it would have been nice to receive a wet hand towel upon arrival.

Great experience overall! Staff were super sweet and helpful. I’d recommend downloading WhatsApp to communicate with your butler for booking reservations at restaurants. The food was okay, there were a few restaurants that were better than others. I overall enjoyed my Stay. Thanks for a great time!
