Nice hotel but the main dining room is so hot and humid! Also why close the pool at night it is so frustrating for those who prefer to be inside during the high of the sun.

What a wonderful restaurant and an enjoyable dinner. We enjoyed the fresh vegetables, and my god, the masa for the corn tortillas was so delicious! They were soft and so so fresh. We will definitely be back here again! Juli and Leodani took very good care of us. They were attentive and kind but not overbearing. The atmosphere and ambiance was so good as well. The lights and open air of the restaurant really create a special vibe at night.

We visited for the last two weeks of June. My family of four, wife and two kids, 18 & 15. My sister in law and her daughter also came. Checked in quickly and we're offered a drink at reception. No card to open the room door, it was on the all inclusive band. Very handy. Our two rooms were next door. The rooms were the one thing that brought the star from five to four. They were ok and cleaned every day. My problem was that they could do with an upgrade, certainly the bathroom. Not a huge issue, just dated. There's a balcony but no space to sit on, just stand, seems pointless. The areas on the walk to the rooms could be freshened up. Pool area was good and clean. Not loads of loungers but loads at the beach if you can't get one at the pool. Towels on the shaded beds from half six easily. The staff warn people if they leave, then 20 minutes max. People just slept on the beds till their family appeared. Pool bar was brilliant and had every cocktail I could think of. Also a snack bar and a coffee bar, which is very unique. The pool bar is open 24 hours. The hotel has three restaurants. Ate in two, the Italian and Chinese. Both were OK. The buffet was easily one of the better ones I've been at. Night drinks were at the bar across from the buffet, which always had a live singer etc. Night entertainment was up on the roof, always a show on. The entertainment staff work hard. They aren't too pushy and politely ask if you'd like to play table tennis, volleyball. The 3pm crazy game was always the best. The beach is the best part. White sand and during our first week, very little seaweed. Although the second week was totally different. Sea was full of it that week. The sea is warm and there's a Sandbank just off the shore that allows you to stand ankle deep. Hotel offers water activities for free. All in a very good hotel. Would I go back? Definitely but would book a pool view ground floor so I could sit out. There's also a market just up from the hotel. There's a bar and loads of shops.

Lovely hotel. Room was modern and clean. Was disappointed with the balcony - no chairs and no room to sit really even if there were. But I booked almost last room so I guess that’s why I ended up with no balcony view etc. - Other rooms did have better balconies however. Main buffet was nice although I do think I’ve eaten better at similar rated resorts. Yes it was June and the seaweed was bad - expect that if you’re visiting in sargassum season. The men still were out there working hard all day to remove it. Difficult to get a deckchair anywhere around the pool after the masses have descended in the morning. Right on the beach - perfect 👌🏼 I preferred our hotel to the Viva Maya that you can use. Funny, I noted one review for the Azteca “tHeRe WaSnT eVeN a sWiMuP baR” I don’t know how one could write this as a negative review - like, read the description before you go if that is one of your requirements. I actually liked it better without the swim up bar. I always pick somewhere different/new to holiday BUT if asked if I would return the answer would be yes. I would also recommend to a friend. It’s just a nice chilled beach resort. “Does what it says on the tin” as our English saying goes.

I had a wonderful experience at Viva Azteca! I was there as part of an opportunity from NRG2GO. I was able to teach yoga and Zumba all week long. I met some wonderful people and staff. NRG2GO is giving many instructors, the opportunity to teach in very beautiful resorts around the world. I highly recommend both NRG2GO and Viva Azteca. A big shout out to the fitness/activities staff (Karla, Ixl, Hilaria, Roberto, Alejandro and all the others) for being so helpful and making mine and everyone’s stay at the resort fun filled with great activities all day long!
