Avala Resort & Villas

Great hotel, very big rooms. we got upgraded to a luxury suite which was very specious suite. the shower alone bigger than many hotel rooms. And a wonderful sea view. Perfect location - right on the entrance to Budva old town. Big Spa with Jacuzzi, Sauna, indoor pool and outdoor infinity pool. Massage treatments are excellent!

A clean and beautiful hotel. The room was very cozy and nicely decorated. I would stay there if I would go back to Budva. Thanks

Lovely hotel and great position for beach and old town. We booked the Avala resort and villas with 3 other couples on our recommendation after a great stay there last year, we booked the upgraded rooms which are good rooms, unfortunately the shower didn't work ,the hair dryer worked for about 1 minutes before burning out ,the bed creaked like it was about to collapse and the bathroom door creaked like the Adams family front door, the balcony was a great size but the view was a building in disrepair surrounded by brick rubble ,this was disappointing but what really ruined my stay was the disrespectful and rude attitude from the reception staff who told us what do you expect you never booked a sea view, and never managed to send someone to fix the shower until I complained again.shame as it is a nice hotel but will not be returning.

We stayed at the Avala for 5 days in August after attending a festival up the coast in Croatia. We were nervous about what to expect having read these reviews but we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is in a fabulous location (I’d say the best part of Budva), the staff were warm and welcoming and the pool bar team were outstanding, bringing us drinks, having a laugh with us and constantly on the go delivering food, looking after guests and cleaning round the pool. I’m pretty well travelled and I’ve stayed in some very nice places. I wouldn’t describe this as one of the fanciest hotels but equally, it was clean, we got sun loungers by the pool every day, the staff were friendly and there was a good selection of lunch options on the pool bar menu. The lounge bar is a great place to meet for a pre dinner drink or for a night cap after a hectic day. We generally stayed by the pool (or did day trips) in the day and then in the evenings we ate and drank in the old town which is right on the doorstep of the hotel. We did use the spa for a massage and I can honestly say it was one of the best massages I have ever had. If you want a good, basic, clean hotel in a great location as a base for chilling out or exploring Budva, I’d recommend this place!

The only saving grace of this hotel is the location. The breakfast was good. That’s about it. The staff alternated between barely helpful to downright rude. The hotel is sterile of any character, design story, or charm. There is no iron or steamer available - only an ironing service, have never experienced this anywhere in the world. I was there for a wedding and urgently needed some ironing done. I had to call them 3 times and wait 2 hours to get this “service done” for 20€ and it wasn’t even well done. Our room was decent but multiple friends had issues with their shower flooding and the staff didn’t care or bother to help. Elevators were out of service, the hotel is a maze of hallways. For the money paid I was shocked at the state of the hotel and service. Go somewhere else if you’re going to stay in Budva.
